Thank you, thank you!! If you shoot wildlife, in my opinion you can not go wrong with this set up. The Sony A6700 with the Sony 200-600 is such an amazing and light set up. For me, this was a rented set up and I LOVED it. The other set up I own, use and love is the Canon R7 with the Canon RF 100-500. A little more expensive but both are simply amazing. I was blown away! 🙏🤗💖
Rented.... that is the key LOL. I was telling James that the shots I am missing are all user error. This little inexpensive camera and this older lens are blowing me mind. I am blown away! Even the color is better on this new camera than the older Sony's have. 🙏🤗💖
@@JonnyPink65 The color looked great. Looks like Sony has made lots of improvements. I’m sure they’re more expensive, full frame cameras would be awesome to try, with the updated improvements.
@@Eli4Bill I am really pleased that they now, or at least this one, has amazing color. I specifically wanted this one for wildlife - the more reach, the better. For full frame, i will stick with my R5. I can not wait to see what Canon comes out with next!! 🤗
Crap - I thought I got all those out. I kept saying that as that is what I shoot. LOL I was also editing this late into the night so that I could get it out today. I missed it in my sleep deprived state. This camera and set up are blowing me away!! 🙏🤗💖
I wish I had shot more while I had it. It was a rental and I was blown away by it. I do plan on buying it soon and I will definatly do more at 120 FPS. I am waiting for the Panasonic F9 II - that is another I want to try. 🙏🤗💖
As you might have already noticed, I also use Sony right now. I switched cause I needed a new lens for Wildlife Shooting and I ended up with the Tamron 150-500. This lens is only available for Sony or Fuji and so I ended up where I am right now! :-). Still using my Nikon stuff though. :-))) Looks like you have fun so far. Best Michael
I am really impressed with this Sony. I was just looking to see how well my Canon 600mm would par with the Sony system. I have seen others use Nikon or Canon lenses on their Sony cameras...... I really think that as long as we are having fun, it really does not matter what gear we shoot. Plus, there will be a newer, faster, sharper shinny toy out next week. LOL For an inexpensive set up, this was really fun to play with. I have not yet shot Fuji but at some point, I should try it. Enjoy your Tamron lens - that is the most important thing!! 🙏💖🤗
Nice video Jonny! 😀 Great photos! Lovely dogs. I was very interested in that combo for the reasonable price of it, and the excellent sharpness on that lens. But i learned that the IS of the lens is not the best if you like to make some video at 600mm. So i gave up the idea of buying it. Did you try some video already? Cheers!
I have SOOOO much footage - all hand held with 3 different lenses, and hundreds of photos - I have just pulled the best of the best and still going out for more. I only have it for so long so I want to shoot as much as I can. I have nothing negative to say about this awesome little camera body. I shoot Canon and the menus in this have changed so much from the old ones I had - any shots I miss or shortcomings I would simply chalk up to user error. I know how to make the Canon do what I want it to do - this, I am happy to be able to get a shot. I will say that i am super impressed with how sharp the photos are and how rich the color is. I am glad the have made it better - i hated the color of the old ones. This little camera has blown me away!! The ONLY reason I dont want to buy one is that I have no other Sony gear and dont want to again start over..... but we will see what Canon comes out with. I really like the 200-600mm lens 🙏🤗💖
Did Canon also make a A6700? I've been to Japan twice this year & the majority of natives there uses Canon cameras.. I do use a Sony APS-C camera. Thank you for the tutorial.
🤣😅 A miss-speak since I am so used to Canon as that is what I use. I did many voiceovers because I kept saying Canon. I did miss it in one as an Easter egg to see if anyone would catch it. They do not as of yet...... 🙏💖🤗
Good one. I picked up the a6700 about a week ago, put my 200-600 on it for my humingbirds. Then my neighbor decided to paint his vehicle and haven't seen a humingbird since. But I got some nice photos of a couple of Great Blue Heron with my 70-200 that turned out really good.
This is an impressive combo and camera body. I have a LOT of hummingbird shots coming up in another video and dragonflies - and macro. I hope the hummingbirds come back soon for you!!! 🙏💖🤗
Thank you!!! I have so many shots and still so many to process - I will be putting out video after video for a while. I am simply blown away with the tech in this inexpensive camera. All the shots i miss are simply user error. I know Canon so this is new for me.... and the menu is different than the older Sony's that I had. The clarity, the color, the autofocus - simply amazing. When i got it, I did not expect to be so impressed or blown away. WOW 🙏🤗💖
Ron!! Thank you for watching - I left a comment on your video. The one thing I did not say, is I have the camera set up for back button focus. I have gone through many different focus modes but I go back to single point - something I have always preferred. I tried to set it up so that one butt is just single point and another is for tracking and I have my Canons set up, but ended up with the one button doing both. I think that if this were my camera, I would really dig in and get way more out of it, but for now since it is rented, it is set up just enough to focus and track the eyeball - it is an amazing little camera - and the video is awesome too! 🙏💖🤗
@@JonnyPink65 Thanks John. I did read your comment on my video. I am still working thru my focus setup options. Not got it figured out yet. But I will.
Thank you!!! This is rented and the only three lenses I have - this 200-600, the 90mm for macro - that will be up soon, and a short lens for video. I am really enjoying what this little camera can do. Any shots I miss are all user error. The menu is different than what it used to be and sooooo different than my Canon stuff. I am also really impressed with how rich the raw colors are - like my old Nikon D750. That is one thing I did not like about Sony prior to this one. I am impressed. 🙏💖🤗
Thank you for watching! Yes it is. when you put a full frame lens on a crop body, multiply the focal length and crop - Nikon and Sony are 1.5, Canon is 1.6. It is not really cropping but since the sensor is smaller, it is the equivalent which is why a crop body for wildlife is preferred in most cases. 🙏💖🤗 PS - I like a zoom lens but always end up shooting at the max focal length. For that reason, I prefer a faster 600mm prime but they are heavy and expensive. On TH-cam, I like to shoot set ups that most will go out and use - I get to answer questions and help any way I can - plus I get to share my photos. My email is below if you have any other questions.

With this and the 200-600 - I could be happy if this was all I had to work with. I was out shooting macro - close ups really, with it today and again - blown away. Thanks for the video :)! Beautiful photos, videos, as expected :). That said: 1. I would NEVER pair an enormous monster of a lens with a tiny a6700 apsc camera! This lens works much better on a HUGE full frame camera :)! Truly, why buy a tiny a6700 camera body if you are using such a huge lens---it defeats the purpose of the engineering, and compromises for the photographer, that went into shrinking a full frame camera into a small apsc body. I'm an international traveler and use the a6000 series cameras when I travel MONTHLY because they are the smallest and lightest camera body on the market (or close to it), with an amazing form factor for carrying around with one hand (the camera body fits in the palm of my hand). Instead, if you are birding, etc, use the sony 70-350mm apsc lens. It is probably 1/3 the size and 1/3 the weight of the elephant FULL FRAME sony 200-600mm lens. The 70-350mm lens has a full frame equivalent (at the zoom limit) of around 526mm!
First, thank you for watching. I disagree. For the wildlife I shoot my favorite minimum focal length of 600mm, preferable a prime - 600mm. I have 400mm and 200mm but I use those sparingly, I prefer as much reach as I can get and don't worry about the weight of the lens. For wildlife, I would rather shoot a crop sensor for the equivalent reach of the crop. This particular set up impressed me beyond what I expected and I really want one. If I shoot a gig, I use my R5 - full frame, but for wildlife.... this is really amazing. I love how far the tech has come. 🙏💖🤗
