    Just bought 10 of these off their website. Been dealing with a broken ethernet clip for a while and am glad that somebody had the foresight to create something like this. Too many random disconnects from my foot hitting the switch.
    Thanks for the video and the information contained within.

    Mate I'm so happy to see this can be easily fixed, I got a flat RJ45 remote control for my car's subwoofer and I didn't want to replace the whole thing, will just buy one of these so it will snap in !

    I have use a couple of these to repair the RJ45 connectors on a couple of HAM radio microphone plugs. Many ham radios use RJ45 plugs on the microphone now.

    Appreciate this video. You solved all of my problems with RJ45 internet cords. I have one locking clip that's broken and another cord that's stuck in one of my computers.

    Planned Obsolescence is what these fucking ethernet cables are all about. These clips break when you least expect them to, in the real world.

    If you have a cable that's not locking in place but for which the tab isn't broken/missing, will you get the most reliable fit from rjclip by breaking off the original tab before installing it?
    Note that in my experience, only 10% or so of cables that start slipping out actually have a missing (broken off) tab. For the rest, the tab is just not doing its job.

    how long do these last for

    • @cheeminlee
      @cheeminlee 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The design of the latch is such that it will never break. It should last 50x longer than the original latch. Using it in an environment with high insert/pull usage, the connector leads will probably wear out before the rjclip.

  • @dp120392

    Why you can't find those clever little fixes in retail electronics stores I'll never know, but those dummies who run them just can't get it thru their thick skulls when a cheap fix and good will is better than $10 to $20 new cable sale.

    • @bozodeniro
      @bozodeniro 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NEWS FLASH! - You can get 'em at Home Depot if the advert links to this TH-cam are believable.

    • @mtvlord952

      These things are literally $10 for five a new cable is cheaper unless it's a bigger cable and even then you could make one with s*** laying around the house or even s*** in the floorboard in your car

    it is a god idea...I just wish I could get one or two instead of having to buy from 10 to 100 of the,. The least I can get there for is about 8 bucks on ebay. If my cable were not imbedded in a wall it would as cheap to buy a whole new rig, wire, plug and all.

    The RJ45 design fails in normal use by the tab breaking off. I think this is a faulty design and shouldn't have made it to production. I think the people who designed this are incompetent, reckless and negligent.
