I've watched tons and tons of drum tutorials. I have never taken a lesson, everything I learned about playing has been literally learn by ear, and as a metal drummer I really only knew how to do double bass and quick hand movements. Recently, I started getting into playing more technical stuff, djent and prog, and I realized that I had absolutely zero idea what it was to actually PLAY the drums. I didn't know rudiments, measures, time signatures, what a down beat or ghost note was. I rambled, but basically what I'm trying to say is that this was the most informative and easy to follow tutorial I've ever watched. Drumeo is nice, but like I said, I'm musically stupid so saying "Play this in a triplet feel with a 5/8" means absolutely nothing to me yet lol. Please, continue to make these tutorials. I've learned more about all of that stuff I mentioned before in the past month than I did in the years I watched these other drum tutorials. You got my subscription!
Jdrummer8925 Omg me too 😂 I just realised that I have been playing drums for around 3 years but I never knew rudiments, ghost notes etc. just like you said. Its time to improve my groove but that means i have to go back to 0😭 Glad im not the only one
@@justoldshit6184 but now that I started learning them, every song I hear that I've been listening to for years, I'm like "HE JUST DID A PARADIDDLE! WTF" lol
Jdrummer8925 I’m in the exact same boat man! Learning about these different sticking patterns and time signatures have opened up a whole new world for me on the kit and it’s a breath of fresh air!
Duuude this groove is serious! Spent 4 hours on it yesterday and I feel my ghost notes getting 10x cleaner. Can't wait to play this groove at a sound check😂 im at 80 bpm clean. Time to work up the bmp! Thanks bro ♥️♥️♥️♥️
My oh my... clear and so nice. It’ll be useful as my Lil bro is trying to find his style and nail that kind of pattern. You’re work is much appreciated, fresh French sub here ! Thanks sir. Greetings from Paris
I must admit I was surprised as to just how cool this groove sounded; I am no longer skeptical. It definitely deserves the 208,283 views that it has attracted. TWO thumbs up here for me!!!
Linear grooves sound cool and are great for solos. I've been playing professionally for 55 years and never had to use one in a song. Great for building chops and coordination.
This man makes me feel like I understand the drum beat perfectly even though my drum kit hasn’t been delivered just yet. Btw this IS one of the coolest drum grooves around.
As a shuffle fan, so glad you put this together. Unbelievably clean and tasty. Can't wait to sit down and attempt to work through this. Thanks for the lesson!
I really loved this groove. I like the idea that everything comes from a pattern and it’s distributed around the kit. Nice snare drum BTW. The sound is really impressive.
This is so cool. Worth the title of the video. It's gonna take me a months or a year to learn this. But i'm gonna learn this. Thank you so much for this amazing groove.
Nice groove. I like the way he can explain exactly what he is doing. After years of drumming I can play some complex stuff but I can't break it down and explain it. I just listen and play most of the time.
Great breakdown of this groove bro. I appreciate you relating the rudimentary breakdown into it. Makes life a lot easier on the interpretation along with reading. Bravo
"...Do something about it"
I will Adam. I'ma learn this damn beat.
if you nailed it (and by now you should've), can you record and post a 10 minute loop for us bassists to jam to? thanks!
@@pusanghalaw if u still need it i’ll try to do it! I’ve learned this beat about a year ago and am going to re learn it again. reply and let me know 👍

It reminds me of the Steve Jordan snare
Good crunchy sound!
I hit the comments to say the same thing! 🥁 sounds killer!
Clean. Oh. So. Clean. Razor-sharp ghosting along with that tight snare tuning... This is bliss to my ears. What a phenomenal groove. LOVE!
I’m heading to the practice room right now to learn this. It’s tight! And I’d definitely say the it’s coolest groove on TH-cam.

Super tasty groove Adam! The studio looks great👍👍👍
I love how clean and simple your kit is. Then u put the complex groove on it. Showing you don't need a 50 piece kit to lay it down.
