I’m heading to the practice room right now to learn this. It’s tight! And I’d definitely say the it’s coolest groove on TH-cam.
The moving split screen shot at 5:40 is just pure art. Combined with the clean presentation, focused and clear teaching, and epic drum sound, your channel feels like the "premium" version of TH-cam drum videos.
I've watched tons and tons of drum tutorials. I have never taken a lesson, everything I learned about playing has been literally learn by ear, and as a metal drummer I really only knew how to do double bass and quick hand movements. Recently, I started getting into playing more technical stuff, djent and prog, and I realized that I had absolutely zero idea what it was to actually PLAY the drums. I didn't know rudiments, measures, time signatures, what a down beat or ghost note was.
I rambled, but basically what I'm trying to say is that this was the most informative and easy to follow tutorial I've ever watched. Drumeo is nice, but like I said, I'm musically stupid so saying "Play this in a triplet feel with a 5/8" means absolutely nothing to me yet lol.
Please, continue to make these tutorials. I've learned more about all of that stuff I mentioned before in the past month than I did in the years I watched these other drum tutorials.

Jdrummer8925 Omg me too 😂 I just realised that I have been playing drums for around 3 years but I never knew rudiments, ghost notes etc. just like you said. Its time to improve my groove but that means i have to go back to 0😭 Glad im not the only one

Linear grooves sound cool and are great for solos. I've been playing professionally for 55 years and never had to use one in a song. Great for building chops and coordination.

Nice groove. I like the way he can explain exactly what he is doing. After years of drumming I can play some complex stuff but I can't break it down and explain it. I just listen and play most of the time.
Nice approach to deconstructing and integrating a groove into your repertoire. I like the slow metronome speed. It would be fun to orchestrate around the kit, play around w/accents and dynamics, and modify to the style of different drummers in various genres.
