      $400-600 is ridiculous... You can build one for under $20 in materials. It may not be as fancy as the $600 one but it will do what it suppose to

    Great work Arthur Jr. ;) Don't forget to use a safety rope through the clamp and the chain and tie it off to the body with a little slack so if the apparatus breaks loose in a pull, you don't get hit with it.

      I've been hit being in a hurry didn't think there was any way if it slipped it would hit me well it ripped out in a way that the chain flew sideways instead of directly at the rack like I thought it would knocked out 3 teeth fractured bones in my face split my upper lip in half and chipped a bunch of my teeth use a safety chain no matter what it's worth it

      @fix206  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am in a good standing with all of my neighbors so they tolerate all of the work that I do outside. And as far as city code enforcement I don't think there's really an issue, because I don't do that sort of work often enough for them to really notice. This is more of a hobby thing that I do every now and then not really full-time gig 👍

    Fix you have done a fantastic job in building this machine. I am very proud for you. We built a log splitter a few years ago. The only problem was a cylinder that was not strong enough. We added a bulldozer cylinder to this set up and it was far more stronger than needed! As long as your Valve, Pump, and Cylinder is strong enough something is going to move lol. Let me know my friend. Phillip

    • @fix206
      @fix206  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is always more then one way to skin a cat... I am a big fan of recycling/repurposing... Using a bulldozer cylinder was a great idea on your part. Those things are built like tanks and are made to take some serious abuse.

    I've been waiting on this video to see how your frame rack performed and it did the job nicely. Really handy that it's portable, so that you can work wherever you want to and then put it away later. One of my hydraulic jacks that I haven't used for a while decided to leak, so I'll have to top that up after replacing the seal on the fluid lock. Audio was a lot better in this video also.
    Hope you are doing videos of your trammel construction and upgrade to the spot welder soon. I'm looking forward to these, as I'm planning to make a trammel some time and seeing how you made yours will be very helpful. I might even have to consider making spot welder too! Last dent repair I did, I used the hot glue - gluing on a stick method. Works to some degree, but a spot welder would be better.

    • @fix206
      @fix206  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruce, my friend how have you been? I hope you liked the video, I figure out a new way to adjust my audio levels and I think I nailed it this time. Tram gauge video will come on a later date, I'm working on another vid currently. And then I'll have another vid in the works after that. I've used the glue stick method on some dents in the past, it's a great quick fix, that technic is good if you're not planning or repainting the panel.

    • @BrucePierson
      @BrucePierson 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fix206 The video was great as usual, with explanations on what you were doing as you proceeded.The fixed audio levels made a fairly constant level through the video. The glue stick method is also handy if you just want to do some of the work now and finish it later. It means not having to remove the paint at that stage, so no need to repaint to prevent rust while busy with other things. It has limitations and it also works best in cold weather, as the glue sticks better when it's cold.
      I'm looking forward to your next videos, whatever they might be about, as they are always interesting, no matter what the subject.

    I drove a car with an 8 inch discrepancy in the frame from front to rear. It was a boat to and was the most dangerous looking car you ever seen travel down the road. Crab walk mixed with a dog that just got hit by a car. You hit a dip and almost do a 180 if you were not paying attention and compensating with correction.
    Bouncy, pulling to one side to the point tires are making scrubbing dragging noise, and it was just constantly jittery, darty, oscillating, and vibrating up and down back and forth
    SOld it to a guy that had a alpaca farm.

    Hello, good job friend,
    do not forget personal safety, it is very important.
    There are several options, depending on your job, for example safety glasses can be a good idea, also something similar to a rectangular towel to wrap the chain, to reduce the whip effect if it comes off the place where it hooks.
    Thanks for teaching and sharing.

    I am amazed by your skills, your knowledge and your ability to stay calm no matter what. Please tell us more about yourself. Where are you originally from (i.e guessing a Slavic country)? What do you do for a living? Where did you get those amazing skills from?

    Hey just a tip for safety put a chain blanket just in case the chain breaks won't hit you. One of my friends got his eye put out doing a pull.

    • @fix206
      @fix206  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I normally would do a blanket over the chain, just didn't want to obscure anything this time, because this was the first vid of the rack in action, so I wanted folks to see how everything works.

      As a kid I learned a lot from working along side with my dad. Now it's time for me pass some of my knowledge onto my boy. I told him that when he grows up, he can do whatever he wants, but in a pinch it's nice to have these skills to fall back on or save a good chunk of money on nice car that he can buy and fix himself. He's about to get his license in about 5 months and for his first car we're going to do a father/son car project. I'll make sure to make a vid of that 👍

    How about attaching the 1/2” plate to the yellow post. Then it would work on any side. Great idea on the scissors jacks - makes them safe.

    • @fix206
      @fix206  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I talked about the 1/2 inch plate toward the end of that vid, how I also have a loose piece of that plate that I can move around to make my pulls 360° around the vehicle. I really wanted to strengthen the very front of the frame rack as much as possible because that's where it would see most of the action and where the hardest pulls will take place that's why I added that plate to the front of the rack. And at the same time I did not want to modify the tower in anyway that's why I left it alone

    I got 2018 bmw g30 and it has a chassis damage, nothing severe damaged its just misplaced from its position and shifted towards right, can we pull aluminium back to its place? I know aluminium doesn’t have memory like metal? Does pulling works on aluminium? The place is where radiator and radiator support sits and it holds the engine.

    • @fix206
      @fix206  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aluminum is much harder to work with, and it does move much easier once it is heated up. Just have to be careful not to overheat it

    Well its been a while since i finished outobody school but if i remember right u gotta start the pulls before you change any parts i would of put the donut to move it. Also we would use those protective blankets over the chains in case they snap, and also stand away from them.

    • @fix206
      @fix206  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can pull bolt on parts before the pull, but if you're replacing the quarter panel then you want to make the pull first since all the substrate metal is attached to it. And I normally would have the blanket over the chain, but since this was the first vid of the frame rack in action I wanted the viewers to see everything unobstructed

    Might think about throwing a moving blanket over the chain when you pull , just in case the clamp lets go and the chain and clamp go flying like a missile , I learned that the hard way because it happened to me and broke my hand and arm , better safe than sorry .

    • @fix206
