@@johnnyboy7777 in 2018 Game Freak was estimated to have around 143 employees so no I don't think they had the resources to be working on two big games at once, especially one no one was asking for
I'm not arguing that they should've been fine splitting their attention, I'm saying that if all it took was a single hour of work to fix the trees, that's all it should have taken GameFreak. Even with a small team, it wouldn't have taken much effort or time at all. It was a very easy fix.
@@johnnyboy7777 yeah I agree with what you're saying I just don't understand why no one is talking about them wasting time on developing a rando game when their full attention should've been on what could've been (and should have been) the biggest Pokemon game to date. I think it just boils down to sheer laziness and cutting corners to save $
The culprit is the Pokémon company since they want to have everything roll out at the same time with the anime and possibly game freak could get the blame as well since their team isn’t very big and I’m assuming don’t want any more new people because everyone in the Team is comfortable working with each other but that’s a bad excuse on not expanding, the Pokémon company also probably doesn’t fund them as much as they should and game freak could also have a lack of passion for it. I also believe they’re kinda incompetent in developing games.
@@darkneji190 With how much money the games make, they absolutely have enough money. Plus, they had a lot of time to make it, and even got a full game out before it was even announced, so they should have the experience to optimize it.
TheAbsol ever since iwata passed their games been suffering, the Pokémon company should fund Game freak to hire more staff members which they have the money to do so but they most likely won’t because they’re gaining profit and not wasting much money to begin with, on top of that gamefreak is known of horribly optimizing games so at this point I wouldn’t mind having new developers giving it a shot and gamefreak could focus on their town game that they made by splitting their already low staff by half

@@Rustyhound-Cartoons I actually preferred this game over SUMO/USUM. The only good thing to come from gen 7 was Alolan Marowak. Not gonna lie. I wasn't expecting you to be critical of this game, like at all. But I greatly appreciate your honest in this review. You're one of the very few creators/influencers actually critiquing the game for its faults and not just being like, "Oh well, that's how it's always been with Pokémon and GameFreak." Thank you for holding them to the standard I feel like everyone should be holding them to.
Honestly, no matter how you feel about the game, it's obvious that game freak could be doing better. the potential the pokemon series has is out of control, and it feels like they don't care to capitalize on that potential
Overrated Main reason why is cause the games sell insanely well with Game Freak doing as little as possible. Game as already sold over 1million copies just in Japan. This will easily be the #1 selling game this generation. So why would Game Freak put any effort into it when the game will sell regardless? I agree it should be better. They can easily make the best game ever but they’re simply not going to.
that's because their money doesn't come out of the games, it comes from merchandise. Why put alot of time into something that just makes them pocket change.
@@GrimdEGaming You underestimate how much money the games still make for them. Yes, the merchendise makes more, but the games still make a HUGE profit and all of the new pokemon that are made jnto merchendise start in the game
Not much good other it's pokemon on the Switch console with new pokemon. Dynamaxing is so niche that it's reserved for important battles what's the point of making models for every pokemon. The story and characters are boring in how they interact. This game is for addicts who will eat up an unfinished product at the mercy of game freak because they'll release an Ultra Sword or Pokemon Armor or whatever at full price again next year and you'll eat it up as well enroute to a Let's Go Silver or w/e and then the next Generation.
I been playing Pokémon since red and I had a absolute blast with this game I lost to the 6th gym and I was happy about it because he last time I lost to a gym was in black and white it really gave me a good challenge. Love the game
Techinically this game took two or three years. The main team focused on this game since Sun and Moon I believe. Side teams worked on Ultra SM and Lets go
@shugo 332 yes i agree..and i'm here just waiting battle event such as versus Red, Blue, Past Elite Fours,Champions from other region, anime characters and etc. from time to time instead of rate up pokemon appearance..or we could have Christmas, Halloween, Summer event as well that awards some good stuffs.. man, all of those character model already exists in Pokemon Masters, just use it GameFreak! LOL
This is a classic excuse people keep making, STOP believing that this game is a 2 year project. Its more like a half year project. The numerous technical faults with zero end game content etc, for their number of employs could have been don WAY faster then 2 years, they clearly have massive mismanagement issues, giving them like a 3 year cycle would likely not help at all. They did this game with as little effort as possible
It would be like assassins creed really and Im all for a two year project really, if it means a rehaul and revision of there graphics adding in a larger portion of content Im all for a two year gap
Okay Professor, whatever. That's not what people out there (the Real World) buying the game think, clearly your comment has a lot of errors in it's thought process
Its literally like all the other pokemon games minus the national Dex, the problem isn't the game at its core its the fact that its still stuck in the past and is taking too long to evolve. No pun intended.
I'm so sick of people making the excuse "it's the same as every past game " every time the games went to a new console they got huge improvements in my eyes ... this however didn't
@@dstack18 I will say the 2D to 3D transition was at least awkward because a lot of design ideas like less exploration and kinda "easifying" (see Amie being too OP when its effects show in battle) of mechanics happened, and still is an issue in these new games -- 3D look is mostly nice though, but at the moment are just portable level IMO.
@@zjzr08 they need two teams making these games gamefreak makes a 2d release game and a 3d game comes out from a different company or division.. like they do with zelda
The reason they do not is because the pokemon games are released world wide and being an rpg with a ton of dialogue..it would take a ton of voice actors to accomplish that!
Honestly when we say "change up the formula" we kinda mean a huge overhaul: -Starters that are different types than the generic picks (fire/grass/water) -More open than linear, let us explore instead of setting us on a very planned path - A thought out plot, or world - Have the rival battles less frequent so they have more significance - etcetera

Sakurai that’s highly debatable for multiple reasons. You pirate a game you will more than likely have your account banned and just because someone pirates it won’t mean everyone does you pirating the game really isn’t a penny lost to the Pokémon developers in this case. @@SinisterPlauges i agree but at least it has some sort of graphical consistency it might look bad but it shows the switch has more then enough power to make a next gen pokemon game. pokemon has a smaller map and less going on yet it has bad animations and glaring graphical issues that break immersion in a game i want to be immersed in. not to mention the frame rate drops. they could've done better if they didnt rush it for an xmas release. plus the auto heal after the championship battles is a bad addition and the exp share that shares it to your whole team. these things shouldve been a choice not a forced feature. the wild zone is empty and lifeless. pokemon and npcs pop into frame right in front of your face. gamefreak needs to grow up and act like the billion dollar company they are or they will keep getting bad press. i love pokemon and it deserves better.

I’ve seen a lot of theories that Sword and Shield were meant to be 3DS games. The game began production shortly after Sun and Moon and Tsunekazu Ishihara apparently believed the Switch would flop. Although there’s no evidence to say so it paints the picture that it was a late decision to port the game to the Switch after seeing its early success. People should stop supporting mediocrity. Then again, not everyone looks for excellence. Number of sold units does not usually reflect how great a game is. Some just sell because of the hype or name built around it.
It's sad because these GameFreak apologists are all like, "tHeSe ArE tHe fAsTeSt sELLiNg sWiTcH gAmEs oF aLL TimE sO yOuR oPiNiOn dIDn't mAttER!! REEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!"
Maybe what you determine as mediocre isn’t what others determine as such. As long as YOU don’t support what YOU feel is mediocre is what should matter most.
I don't think you can blame the people who support it. It's an issue of the competition doing very little to get in the way of the series' success. If you're a parent looking for a game for your kids, what do you get? With these new Pokemon movies out, and so many fans having already pushed Pokemon onto their kids, your kid is left behind if you don't buy them a Pokemon game. The kids also love Disney IPs, but where are the Disney games? Inifinity failed, and the standalone games made for each movie aren't any good. Skylanders used to be a thing, but that was an even worse cash-grab and there hasn't been a new one out anyway. Most game studios have accepted that the market for kid-friendly games is already cornered by Nintendo, it seems like, and the ones who haven't make small budget garbage that's even worse. It's not like the actual gameplay for Pokemon is taking a hit here, either, so it's not hard to see why addicted fans are still hanging on. Do you get what I'm saying? Instead of attacking fans who buy the games and complaining to Gamefreak, maybe let's start asking other game studios for something that genuinely competes and outdoes Nintendo. I mean I almost literally have no games my kid would want to play on my Xbox or PS4.
@@machineofadream Good point too man. Good competition might work, although for the type of game Pokemon is in, I doubt it will be coming anytime soon. There's a ton of other games to keep us busy anyway. We know we might be missing on a good game, but we don't care till we see this fixed.
@@doughdreads That's not true. Blind fans have been dishing out tons of support since the game's release. Sure it won't be like that in a few months, but by then they will have already earned their ad revenue.

Damn when you said it’s bigger than Disney it really drove it home for me. There’s no excuse at this point Edit: It’s the biggest franchise* if you combine Disney’s they’re bigger which I didn’t realize. Still, they have fat cash they could definitely make this as polished as other Nintendo games have been lately
Raymond McVeety It’s not actually the bigger than Disney. It’s just the biggest franchise Like how Super Mario is a franchise from Nintendo Or Mickey Mouse for Disney but in saying that it is still terrible that it is the biggest franchise in the world and make a poor game like this.
I dunno. Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, and Star Wars are all Disney. If you combine those three, that tops Pokémon. according to these numbers anyway.
More like Town (and several other games by small teams), Ultra Sun/Moon, Let's Go, Pikachu!/Eevee! and Sword/Shield (not to mention likely some work on next year's games) all at once on a very high-pressure timed release schedule.
Leon doesn’t endorse the two characters when they have the first fight. He endorsed them after talking to professor magnolia. Leon is reluctant to endorse them at first but then magnolia makes him.
Great, so instead of taking the aspect of the series that you can do anything if you train hard enough, you're relying on someone else (who your friend is related to) to endorse you so that you are allowed to participate.
I felt the same way about the opening scene it really fell flat without any voice acting , Pokemon needs to take a couple of years off and give us something truly special
Hydro Cookie I wish I've played Heart Gold and Soul Silver, but I didn't get into the series till Pokemon Black and White...They are the ones that got me into Pokemon, and I hope one day that I'll find all the generations, so I can play them myself! 😄😁👍
This makes me appreciate Breath of the Wild even more. Two great franchises but one knew how to evolve with time and captured the hearts of both old and new fans where as the other which in it's own stubbornness to "evolve" (which btw is the main point of the game) has started to alienate their loyal fanbase.
Made me appreciate Breath of the Wild and Fire Emblem Three Houses more in my case. Honestly its fair for people to compare Pokemon to those titles now. Pokemon isn't on a handheld anymore but on the Switch with titles like Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Astral Chain, Fire Emblem, and Luigi's Mansion. Now people may have specifically argueed FE has PS2 graphics, but they are entirely missing the point considering Fire Emblem made up for this and had cut some corners to its benefit with its excellent full voice acting even for the most miniscule interactions, they shook up the mechanics and took inspiration from other JRPGs like Persona without losing its identity similar to Breath of the Wild taking inspiration from Zelda 1 and western open world games like Skyrim specifically, they had a compelling story and a butt load of content, and they pleased old and new fans of classic and modern Fire Emblem. So the trade off for PS2 graphics was pretty justified for me. Now, Fire Emblem 3 Houses may not be perfect considering you can tell that some things had to be cut in the game, but you can really tell Intelligent Systems put a lot of love and effort into the title. However the same cannot be said with Game Freak considering the inconsistency with it's highs and lows in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The trade off in graphics and cut Pokemon didn't bring in an efficient amount of content to make up for it. It was kinda unnecessary and more of a detriment in Game Freak's case for cutting corners compared to Intelligent Systems.
@@michaelolegario6399 IMO, GameFreak are just being lazy and at this point they don't even wanna try. The last time they truly tried to be ambitious was in Gen 5
IMO, Breath of the Wild is one of the worst looking games on the Switch and didn't get nearly the criticism it deserved for it's washed-out palette and terrible terrain. But yeah... it also got great reviews by sheer virtue of being a Zelda game. I honestly wish they'd take a note from The Wind Waker and give their entire world a color palette makeover.
6 million physical copies of sword & shield sold in the first week worldwide, fastest selling Nintendo Switch games, highest gross launch. Yep this gen is a huge success because it's a Pokémon game on the Switch. These games benefited highly in sales from all the public discourse.
It's the sad truth brother. Game Freak has absolutely no reason to put more effort into a game when they can whip together an "ok" game with name pokemon on it and break records.
I'm a Pokemon fan and have been dreaming of a mainline Gamefreak line that took cues from Stadium and Colliseum. And I know they weren't made by Gamefreak, but you would think Gamefreak would make their game, I don't know - play like an anime. In truth what I desired was the anime experience, in my Pokemon game. I wanted the world to feel alive, the pokemon to feel like living creatures with their own personalities and idle animations that gave cues to this. I wanted more of a storyline in the likes of BW and BW2. I am not buying Sword and Shield because its not up to par with the Switch's library, Code Vein, Deus Ex Machina, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Odd, and so and so forth. This game doesn't meet standards. Especially with the Fire Emblem House game out. I want that, but Pokemon.
Seeing how much money pokemon makes really makes me disappointed at how Sword and shield turned out. I legitimately have more fun playing indie games like Hollow Knight over this
I agree. Recently, I got Downwell. It's an indie game that I got for a dollar on the eShop. Also, it was originally made for mobile. Let me get this straight, a game that's a dollar is more fun than a 60 dollar game. I'm glad indie developers are picking up the slack that AAA companies have created.
@@Hydra_X9K_Music yeah they really are lazy, just look at the new games, reused models (including the giant ones), reused animations, pokemon that don't move, really bad graphics, NPCs that just pop in and out, terrible weather effects, cut over 50% of the pokemon and features like mega evolution and z-moves, etc, all on a game that they spent years making. I actually wonder what they were doing for three years when it comes to the new games, it seems all they did it make different curries and different versions of that one pokemon based off of cream, they definitly weren't doing what they said they were doing (which was their reasons for cutting so much). So either lazy or just bad at making games for home consoles, they can no longer hide behind the whole it's made for hand held consoles excuse. These games were badly made and on top of that weren't given the attention needed with staff (even though they have the money to hire more staff but just refuse to for some insane reason, they could be helping those who want to get into the indestry and making their own work loads easier but nope, they prefer a smaller team) and resources being split between two games at the same time (why?).

I’m really enjoying the game, but I can definitely see some of the criticisms. Maybe they’ll address some of these new concerns with the next iteration of the game.
Preston Tackett I wish I had that optimism, but Game Freak doesn’t respond to player feedback. We’ve been begging for minor features to come back or remain for a long time and gotten only more cut. The only time they reacted was when BW sold poorly for not having old mons, so from then on they made sure to keep plenty of Kanto Pokemon in the spotlight. SwSh are selling too well, they’re not going to “fix” anything.
They won't dude. The only time they've ever tried something fresh was on GameCube, sadly. I hope I'm wrong, and you're right.....I just don't see it happening until the diehards quit covering for GF
Don't worry, I'm the same way. We've been blessed with a great year of video games. A "lack luster" pokemon game isn't going to ruin my life. I'm having fun with it. It seems like literally everyone is pissed off at the game, if game freak doesnt reply with a better game next year (or year after) then I think the pokemon fan base will wither away year by year. So I'll just enjoy what we have now and hope for the best
Its the first main line pokemon game ever I haven't picked up on release. From what I have seen of it, it looks more like a port than a full fledged console game. Like you, I really would like to know where they spent that extra time... Great review! 5 Stars!

Meeb it was developed for Wii U and ported to Switch. BotW was never a switch exclusive. Just a port. The sequel will be the first original Zelda exclusive for switch.
As you and everyone else has said, the game looks lazy. Ten years ago this would have been a sweet looking game but we've seen so many better looking games on Switch with more interesting mechanics and superb voice acting that this just seems lacklustre.

Its just another pokemon game, its fun, unique, sure the experience is a little more streamlined now, but, damn, its just a fun game to play.
@Ryoshikari well, thats fine, I had alot of fun with both those games too, so you cant go wrong. I agree the gameplay is always about the same, the uniqueness I was talking about was concerning the pokemon designs, to each their own, but if down the line this game gets slashed to 30$ its worth a go at it.
Monkey Boy my wife and our friends spent almost four hours just running around doing Max Raids, before even moving on with the story. Haven't noticed most of the things people are complaining about, maybe I'm just not nitpicking it that much. "What are your thoughts on Pokemon" ... I want a Pokemon game where it takes you FIVE DAYS of adventuring in the wilderness, LOST, before you even reach the first town after you get your Pokemon. Where you have to camp out every 6 hours of real time when you realize that not only is it night in real life, but your Pokemon are so low on health that they're gonna need to rest for a couple of hours, preferably 6 hours. I'm talking a game that not only is it hyper focused on exploration, but it could arguably be called a game about survival, if not for the fact your Pokemon have only fainted. ... not that it should be easy or convenient to UNfaint them if you don't have a revive though. The way I see it, 6 hours of rest to get them to 1 HP... Another 6 hours for full health. If you get to a town, and can use a Pokemon Center, you should be so relieved that you're crying tears of joy. The easiest way to do all of THAT is to make the routes procedural dungeons like something out of Mystery Dungeon.
Spot on.... Sounds like the old pokemon games where there was no xp share and you had to switch in and out to level and evolve pokemon, ahh the good ol days
kieran pearson what statistics are you looking at and where, that prove the majority of gamers dislike the game? I'm not even arguing you're wrong I'm just curious where you're getting the info, since you cited static's.
I'm also enjoying the game so far, but I can't say I'm not disappointed overall. While the Pokemon designs are dope, it's been consistently lacking both in atmosphere and memorable characters. I can see myself putting it slightly above or on par with X/Y (which I consider to be the weakest entries in the franchise), but nothing more than that.
The games have always been "convenient" like you happen to live in Pallet Town and they gym order just happens to work chronologically (obvs with the exception of Virdian) or you just happen to live in New Bark and the path you travel just happens to coincide with gym order. That's always been the thing. I do feel what has robbed pokemon of its soul a bit has been the full 3d world. It's just so different from the sprite based gameplay that most of us grew up with. It's also why White and Black hold a special place in my heart because it was the final games like that.
Ben Ward oh no it is awful, im not saying its not. but we know less assets usually go into the post games routinely. I also want to add something that maybe could be a THING that happened here. i would venture to guess that originally these games were going to be the 3DS’ final pokemon games. but the pokemon company thought that they HAD to just drop everything and move to switch, and gamefreak was already working on this so they just ran it through citra, HD’d it out and called it a day. lol which is wrong and they can do a TONS better, but they just didnt this time, so move on. Dont play the games, wait for the next ones. no big deal.
Will Gatz impidimp does the exact same turn when you click on the mushrooms! It’s doesn’t matter what part of the game it is... also I don’t hate the game fyi I actually loved it, but it’s the little things that turns me off from it.
Its actually a really fun game. A big part he missed is that when you defeat a gym leader you normaly go to the wild area and catch the ones that you couldn't before . I never really played that much pokemon and this has been a really good experience for me. You should give it a chance.

This is one of the few videos of his that isn’t sponsored by the respective developer, so yeah. Otherwise he’s super happy go lucky and talks up bad games while slurping down G fuel
Yeah. It's good to be content but I think Game Freak and Nintendo should really challenge themselves and make a Pokemon game that is really built for the new generation. Problem is though Shield is still fun, it's an RPG with Pokemon in it so it's very hard to screw up majorly in that regard and it's selling really well despite being the most criticised and polarizing main line game so far. And that I don't think is sending the message. I'll admit I contributed to that by buying the game as well but maybe that's what it's going to take. They got lucky with this one but I think the next mainline game is going to need some big changes because people will remember this one.
I think my major issue is that yes it has problems, but is what we got indicative of around 2 years of dev time? I'd say yes. There's a crap ton of space and Gamefreak's first major console game. It is just too much for them to accomplish imo in just 2 years. People complain about CODs year after year, and they have 3 year cycles....just a thought. Although I am in no way excusing Gamefreak, just bringing an important point to the argument. Especially the power the Pokemon Co. has not Nintendo not Gf but Pokemon Co. I am more inclined to blame them with Nintendo's recent attempts at trying new things and making things better. Especially with how little Pokemon Co. is doing outside of what pokemon go and that other app no one cared about.

This is why I respect companies who make an announcement stating that they will take their time to make the game great
Like Nintendo admitting to resetting Metroid Prime 4's development, and admitting to BotW getting delayed. ...And Animal Crossing.

None of this is in defence of the game, I very much agree with all the criticisms, even if I am enjoying the game regardless

@@adamdevereaux2713 Fair enough

It's the sad truth brother. Game Freak has absolutely no reason to put more effort into a game when they can whip together an "ok" game with name pokemon on it and break records.
The next games will likely be the same standard. It would be a miracle if they pulled something different.
Christian weiss yeah mine was day
Hayden Beale mine too and i don’t know if It is my eyes But when i Was playing It looked a lot better than the vid
MarcosFerreira I agree!
Was about to comment this. Mine was day time, playing Shield.
The wild area day or night cycle is based of the switch on-board clock.
Wood- "Let's talk about the good!"
*continues to complain more before getting to the good*
Makes me glad I didn't buy this full price.
Gonna wait it out and get it used later.
I understand not buying full price but it is a good game.
@Ryoshikari lmao, the problem is, its really not bad at all. If you are a working adult then you can afford to buy this game, you havent played it and yet you think you'll be able to "see" wether its good or not.
People keep saying it "looks really bad" - maybe my standards are just low but I prefer a locked frame rate over better assets, I guess.
Why did IGN give this a 9.3?
Money
Cause IGN are losers
You mean the same guys who hate water?
Because there is less water. IGN is basically fire type and they hate anything water.
I appreciate your honest opinion Wood, don't get discouraged, the only way things get better is to share our thoughts and feelings.
I feel like I definitely had a more positive experience than you did but I appreciate how honest you are! Still got my thumbs up despite differing opinions!
Ryan Long Well said bother
Antim8ah you can still enjoy a game even with it’s hard flaws. Like he said in the end of this video, he still enjoys playing it. Even I see MANY flaws as I play, but I still enjoy playing it.
Despite the many flaws of this game.
Snom is the hero I never knew I needed.
Its sad that they said they balance the pokemon to be good in competitive but Frosmoth is terrible in battle. I really love the design of the pokemon but it lacks speed, hp sp def and def, it just DIES, cant even attack with it...
Pokemon Colosseum & XD were the FIRST open world Pokemon games, whether they're main line or not doesn't matter and they're still much better than these Switch games.
DIGITALBEATBOX X FACTS I LOVE THOSE GAMES STILL
They're so good, i haven't played XD but they played around with shadow pokemon in collosseum, it was so interesting.
I loved Pokemon colosseum on my GameCube.
DIGITALBEATBOX X heck, it even had better animations

What did they do with that free time? Bruh at this point its clear that they just wanted to releases the gamed before x-mas. Pokemon has become a yearly cash grab.

"What are your thoughts on Pokemon"
Bruh...
tbh im one of the few who actually like the game but i do strongly agree with the points in this video

You're in the majority. The people who are disappointed are the hardcore fans who expect more from the game
@@nicobrandan6693 minority* statistics prove that

kieran pearson what statistics are you looking at and where, that prove the majority of gamers dislike the game?
I'm not even arguing you're wrong I'm just curious where you're getting the info, since you cited static's.
Personally I love sword and shield but I do think they could have done some things differently/better.

It just needed more time to expand/polish the story and maybe make the combat more challenging.
Me too bro the same it’s still fun I have 100 hours in game and completing my pokedex 355 Pokémon catched just can’t will.
I always liked how b2w2 changed the order of some of the gyms and their locations
This game is fun, but it feels very bare bones and was certainly not worth $60.
Then check out Temtem. I just learned about it today.

When Zacian turns around in a cut scene 🤮 if you know what I’m talking about then you know how bad it was.
Joseph Lopez do you know that the scene youre speaking of is a small after game scene? Do you know what youre talking about?
Will Gatz why does it matter if it’s post game? It’s when you are trying to catch him. The turn animation is absolutely awful
Will Gatz oh yeah I’m not too worried and I still had some fun with the game. It’s a shame it all just feels so lazy at this point.
Will Gatz impidimp does the exact same turn when you click on the mushrooms! It’s doesn’t matter what part of the game it is...
also I don’t hate the game fyi I actually loved it, but it’s the little things that turns me off from it.
The wild area isn’t always introduced at night it’s only some games

Leon also doesn't give the endorsements right after the first battle. He waits until Professor Magnolia tells him to.
Exactly people just like to complain this guy is stupid
SLUSHY-_-SHAKE agree
I’m really glad I didn’t waste my money on Pokémon this generation
Its actually a really fun game. A big part he missed is that when you defeat a gym leader you normaly go to the wild area and catch the ones that you couldn't before . I never really played that much pokemon and this has been a really good experience for me. You should give it a chance.

EngravedinDeath I mean it doesn’t matter much. SwSh has the biggest launch of the whole switch till now. So a lot of people bought this
Your review is way more genuine then IGN's review, the podcast they had didn't help them one bit, nice to see a Switch centered channel be critical with a Nintendo game for once.
Blake Ivory this isn’t a Nintendo game. If it was, it would have not been lazy
IGN has "too much water" PTSD, They are never going to give pokemon a "bad" review again.

This is one of the few videos of his that isn’t sponsored by the respective developer, so yeah. Otherwise he’s super happy go lucky and talks up bad games while slurping down G fuel
You seem to skim over the word "critical".
One thing I'd like, and I've thought this from day 1 with Pokémon blue way back when.
Encounter starts
Wild Pokémon appears
"Who will you send out?"
Exactly my thoughts, I like it, but it just could've been so SO much more.
Sucks the story is still about becoming a champion......again
Not sure why you expected different
Gumball the issue is, if they change things like the things they have changed in gen 8, people get upset.
@@SicklySeraph what do you mean by things changed in gen 8?
Gumball Was hoping it can be like Pokémon black and white where you vs the final boss which are N and ghetsis or something besides the champion.

Lazyness, in previous gens each berry had its own tree.
@@nidohime6233 Exactly. We have to start defining the success of a game or product other than sales since most products are bought on name alone. You are 100 percent correct, this is laziness on Game Freak's behalf. Sad.
The one problem I have with some of the new pokemon designs is that they look too underdetailed. ie: compare growlithe and yamper.
