[Joe] The last time our family got hit with a lice infestation, it was the craziest experience ever for our family. Staying up for three days, washing all articles of clothing, bedding, furniture, floors.. washing our kid’s hair, untangling and combing through endless kinks and curls late into the night… sleeping on hardwood floors to avoid catching lice… it was one of the most difficult times for us to keep our sanity in tact. This time, lice hit our home at the most inconvenient moment: before a road trip to a funeral.
However, I’ve noticed whenever tragedy hits, our family comes to unify. Any quibble or argument becomes burnished away to where family foundations stand together. It seems to be a common trait through any disastrous situation, and it’s almost comical to compare lice to a death in the family, but to at least see how God is able to utilize any situation in spite of what it might look like to us is humbling to me.
