- Garage Floor Leveling Complete Guide. As you will see from the early part of this video, my floor is destroyed. It's not just uncomfortable to walk on, it's painful. Even worse to kneel on if needed. This might not be anything related to actual woodworking, but it's the single most important thing I've needed to get done to get my workshop up and running. And it's beautiful. It makes my working space so much more inviting. It's been a long time coming and now it's done, I don't have any more excuses for getting stuff done. Hope you enjoy the video - let me know what you think. Any questions, leave them in the comments and give me a like and subscribe if you enjoyed it. See you in the workshop soon.

I usually go for the videos that are short, about 5-15 minutes, maybe 20 max, but decided to watch this and the hour was worth it. I appreciate the detail, the supply list, the equipment list, and the full story of your experience. Now, off to take care of my job. Cheers and thanks.
One of the longest diy videos i watched, but among the very best. It's like 1-1 coaching onsite. Thank you.
Hope to do my garage floor when the weather improves. If I can achieve the results you have I’ll be very happy. Thanks for the video. 👍🏻
Hi. Thank you. You’re welcome. Hope there was some useful info there for you. Good luck with your new floor 👍. Nick.
Awesome🥰🥰🥰 I had an ugly rocky concrete pad & the compound leveling made it look like yours
Hi renee. I know right. It’s so nice to work on now. Garage is a bomb site at the moment. Next project is fully underway. Repair on the back windowsill and frame. Vid coming out soon. Thanks for posting. Nick.
Cool. Thanks for posting. Nick.
Quite informative.
I’ll be doing a similar job but over 36sqm. Like you I have stuff in the garage that I can’t do anything with other than move it all about the place.
I’ll need to put wooden dams / walls down as I’ll likely have to do three pours, simple / silly question. How did you attach the wood to the concrete floor, was all of the wood screwed down and sealed to try and prevent leakage?
Good job. Glad I came across this video, since I have a small galley kitchen (around 80sq. ft.) to level. You've given me a good estimate of the number of bags -- I'll probably need 8-10 bags because I require a deeper pour.
Here in the US I find Mapei self-leveler at the Lowes chain. Their website says the Mapei is not intended for use as a wear surface. Some of the other videos I've researched say the same and recommend sealing the leveled floor in some way. Some other DIY self-leveling videos find an unsealed floor acceptable. Any thoughts on sealing your garage floor?
Cheers.
Hi. I’ve not decided on sealing or not yet. I’ve still got moisture getting under my garage door and at the external wall at the back, the coating over the brickwork has split and cracked, so I’ve got to fix that before I seal the floor. I might do an anti slip paint or some kind of latex. Either way, having done the floor has made a HUGE difference in terms of light level and just the working environment. So much more enjoyable. Thanks for posting. Nick.
Hi. An acrylic or polyurethane sealer is probably best. The untreated surface is porous. I haven’t done mine only because I’ve so many other things to do and limited time. When I’ve caught up, I might wash it and seal it properly. Probably a new video to report on the state of the floor and the new pour. Thanks for posting. Nick.
Did you use a spike roller
Hi Jason. No, I did think about getting one. The one I’d seen everyone using was about £50. If this was for an internal job for a tiled floor in a bathroom or kitchen, I probably would have got it. I couldn’t justify that cost for the result I wanted. Thanks for posting. Nick.
bubbles. you can use a spike roller.
Hi. I was going to, but for £50 for the recommended one, to use once, I decided not to. Didn’t see the point in the expense. Thanks for posting. Nick.
