World might be the only game where the once-under contruction locations from their predecessors have actually been finished. It always amuses me whenever I look at the finished tunnel that I once thought was a sewer (because of the pipes and all). Now that I look back it however, it *_does_* look like a tunnel.
Not really, they just changed things a bit forcefully at times. Canal in Rockport is not meant to be a tunnel road at all. Rockport turnpike tacked on chaning the highway in that bit. Bridge jump doesnt even count since its just eradicated so they could illogicly slap Palmont and Rockport closely together. GTA games and Driver Parallel lines are better examples that actually done that.
@@osvaldovidela6466 All of it is reused from Undercover so they had to make due with it Tho its odd they just didnt use actual tunnel calls as there are tunnels in Undercover.
No, GTA games have done that too, albeit in a reverse manner. Liberty City in GTA 3 (which takes place in 2001) is completely different and much more developed than the Liberty City in GTA Liberty City Stories (which takes place in 1997) and thus a lot of places in Liberty City Stories have been changed to look older or less developed than in the chronological successor GTA 3. Similar could be said for GTA Vice City (1986) and GTA Vice City Stories (1984) Also, Pokemon games have done this too. The places to visit changed a lot between Pokemon Black and White as compared to Black 2 and White 2 (which takes place 2 years after the event of Black and White) with a lot of developments taken over the time. I really love this aspect of connecting game lores by adding map developments if it's being reused in open world games.
I don't know why but the map developments in NFS World from mw05 and carbon seems to be quite inspired from how they do it in GTA games. The tunnels particularly seem heavily inspired from the tunnels in GTA 3 and Liberty City Stories.
@@HeroManNick132 It didnt lead to canyons, it was for scrapped Alpine region that was scrapped in Most Wanted, as one of the connectors to the mountaints and country side(similar to jackson heights in UG2 to some extend) Map for it is in Core X alpha trailer for the game from Black Edition DVD at the very beginning before the logo. So he has to take side roads through rural empty states where people dont care enough about that. It had to be atleast several weeks or maybe even months. Especially given the fact that Cross is out of police force and bounty hunting there for atleast few weeks already, being known by Darius. Its not "the night after" Most Wanted. Its most likely months later, Cross being so caught up on finding us that he looks for us in player's place of birth, thinking that after shit hit the fan, that's where he will run to, having no other options, while RPD doesnt really care so he left to pursue that lead on his own. So he bounty hunts, gets to know people and gets informants(probably same people who keep Darius informed, especially since Cross's arrival would be odd to begin with) hence why he knows where we are exactly and chases after us into the canyon roads in the intro in NFSC

Most Wanted is just a better game, than both Carbon and NFSW. Carbon is still decent, especially canyon races and drifting and how mysterious it all felt, but it just feels too slow and sluggish compared to Most Wanted. They screwed up big time by doing whole tier system and messing up the upgrades and realistic separation of cars from MW05. NFS World was fun but incredibly basic. It feels like cheap imitation of both games.
Yes NFSW Map is severly wrong. Rockport and Palmont are separated by thousands of miles in the story. It doesnt mean there are no "normal" exists and entrances into the city, From at least one canyon you can see a faint highway leading to one of the scenery cities(most likely San Juan), Eternity Pass specificly(Darius boss race canyon). If Palmont was to be realisticly modelled there would be atleast couple main roads aside of mountain roads around it. Player avoids main roads tho, as he was wanted nation wide after what happened in Most Wanted. So he travelled with side rural roads for weeks or months and wanted to do the same to enter Palmont sneakily. But Cross who was bounty hunting there for weeks waiting for him to show up prepared, so someone spots that BMW, he gets a call(most likely a gas station clerk), same person is on Darius's payroll, this is why both of them knew where we were and got after us at the same time.

it was probably a tunnel in construction.

The TCBPD's most redeeming police chatter has to be the random ones between officers, otherwise there's nothing notable about their chatter.
