This is such a great game. And as far as no loading screens goes this was always the case for Piranha Bytes games and all started with Gothic 1 in 2001. Hopefully they will lock fps to 30 or optimize to 60. That auto save stutter is a classic :))
@@budyll1I can abolutely understand your point. It indeed feels they have been making the same game six or seven times now. The combat is always clunky and the storytelling does not live up to modern standards. BUT: For me the world feels more alive than in 99% of other games. And the take on it that it does not feel epic in every second creates a different and unique atmosphere. While not on par with Gothic2 Night of the Raven, I think Risen is one of the most fun RPGs of all time to me, not negating that it has its flaws and certainly isn‘t for everyone.
Congrats on the 300K subs, mate! Really well deserved. Man, I've never played this game, but it really takes me back to things like the first Fable. Never thought you could get Nostalgia for something you're seeing for the first time
Risen is an amazing RPG for those who didn't play it, I've finished it back in 2009, explore the beach at the binning there's a hunting knife(sword) and a shield
Shame it wasn’t optimized, could have been a nice trip down the nostalgia path. It is amazing to see how far games have come, and i can’t wait to see where they go.

A really fair review of an old gem. I played the game on PC when it was released. Keep the good work, and keep making video's
The switch is a mystery, it can somehow run games that you wouldn't expect to run on the switch...
They just released a patch for the Switch version. Maybe you guys can test it again with it and put a pinned comment with some updated impressions. :))
Congratulations on 300k subscribers, so well deserved. I’ve told all my gamer friends about the channel. If you are a Switch gamer then this channel is a necessity.
I was looking forward to this one, but think I will pass for now. Thanks guys!
300K well deserved! I appreciate the way you guys summarize games a lot. I’ve noted down a lot of games for my wishlist while having an occasional laugh 😂 thanks guys 🙏🏽
If anyone's interested the physical version is available as an exclusive in game in the UK. And GameStop in the US I believe.
I'd love to see a review of the Nyxi controller.
Congrats on the 300k subs! 💗 Hope you guys will reach 400k within the upcoming months 💗
The game looks okay, and it looks fun! But I'd rather play skyrim, tbh. Maybe im comparing apples to oranges, just my two cents on it
Please review the joycons you have attached to your switch! Seeing those brought me back to the WaveBird controller days! I’ve only ever used the original ones that come with the switch, but these caught my eye though.
Wish I had the cash to pick it up. My second fav action rpg ever
Congrats on the milestone! 🎉
This one doesn't grab me, but in general it's always great seeing older games ported to the Switch. So many titles I would never have played otherwise
Looks like a fine game but I agree that it's a bit expensive for the things it has ti offer. Nice review, honest and usefull.
Should have been a Risen collection for that price since not many upgrades but it’s solid game.
Maybe they release more if they see that risen was sold well
Loved Risen on PC. It was basically a spiritual successor to Gothic 2 which was developed by the same blokes. I think I will give it another go. I enjoyed it more than Skyrm same as I preferred Gothic to Morrowind. The world feels small but very alive.
Two videos one day.... Props to whomever o
Is old enough to get the reference
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver's corridor loading screens were PS1.
It made that game feel HUGE
This is why I love my Steam Deck. So many options for games and most play great. I still like to drop in and watch your videos from time to time.
