I've always thought Dave sounds like he's changing gears during his solos. He contrasts slow tempo playing with faster licks like no other. He allows each note it's space and room to breathe which is a style many players fail to grasp the importance of. That's why you want his solos to go on and on as opposed to feeling like you've been beat up by, "fast-all-the-time," players. Wally, do you still have any contact with Dave? How did you happen to join his band and how long did you play with them? Thanks for putting up this video. -Scott
blacksummerrain Hey Scott! Better late than never! Sorry about that! Never saw the end of text till today! To answer your question.... I saw Dave 3 years ago for the first time in 23 yrs! Dave moved to Chicago for awhile so I auditioned for his band in 1988 and played till 1993, the band in the video was from New Jersey except for me! When I joined it was an all Chicago band! Thanks for the comments and compliments! All the best!
@@WallyHustin Thanks, Wally. Do you still play live? Are you in Chicago? I lived in Western Springs many, many years ago. In Slidell, La. now with Hurricane Sally headed towards us. I went to school in San Diego and my cousin used to babysit for Dave's sister who lived in Point Loma. Hopefully, you're still playing because, as Dave says, Rock and Roll isn't an age, it's an attitude!
Great guitarist, equally great songwriter. Absolutely under-appreciated. I've been listening to Dave for 40 years, and have yet to tire of his songs.
My all time favorite! This blows me away
Completely Beautiful and masterly guitar solo, with great spiritual depth and mystcism
Mason. The Rodney Dangerfield of rock guitarist
Great Band with Dave
SIMPLY THE BEST
Thank you .. thank you .. hurried to part 2...... what a wonderful concert
What a marvelous version ... Thank you
