What amazes me how 12yrs ago just about every reviewer hated ISF! it was and I Quote a boyracer car, not refined enough, 8 gears to many, who needs 8 gears what was Lexus thinking, The fake exhaust tips, that massive front end, look at those side vents on front fenders etc. Fast forward to 2020, now everyone is singing praises of IS-F, such hypocrites oh who needs 8 gears? Apparently everyone since now 7, 8, and 10 gears has become standard. Oh those fake exhauts vents that Automotive journalists all complained about have now become standard on just about Every Automotive company including BMW, MERCEDES, AUDI, FERRARI, GM the list goes on and on. Then you have side vents on fenders, once again so many Automotive company have them included on their cars such as most of new BMW M cars such as M3,M4,M5,M6 etc, Ford, GM, etc. Then you have power dome hood, guess what European union created new standards for pedestrian safety and they started to adopt that similar power dome look hmmm.
Another reason IMO why IS-F has age on exterior better than its rivals of same period especially C63AMG which now looks so dated. Here is thing about tracking these cars 90% of these cars NEVER see track! Is BMW better on track yes, but not by much especially if you have updated suspension and diff in 2011and up cars it inches closer to M3. And if you track your ISF like I use to with just upgrade LCA Bushing, sway bars, really improves its track ability and if your track junkie you can change to set off Penkse or Ohlins coilover you drastically improve its track characteristics. That's why I find it so funny how now all these vloggers and journalists now say how great IS-F is. They never gave it chance when it was first released they were all drinking German Cool aid.

Remember who pays to advertise in their mags. Advertising income often guides a lot of so call "journalistic integrity" as does any sort of funding in daily life.
Fact is I take a journalists view with a pinch of salt. Bottom line now is what I really think. After years of listening to their BS, I just went out to test drive cars for fun to cut out the bullshit only to realize how much there was to cut out. The ISF is remarkable and a few mods like steering bushings make a huge difference to the car. Mine's an 08 with an LSD, and the USRS bushing upgrade for the steering.
No uneven tire wear, reliable motor, great power and sound, and it'll get me to work while being able to perform at a track day or autocross event. Isn't that the definition of what every 'enthusiast' wants. Irony is the 2UR motor lasts well over 300k miles now with just the usual maintenance and no drop in power either. Its engineering excellence at its finest with no credit from folks who claim to know things about cars.
Eh I gave up on listening to their propaganda. Fact is make sure its special to you. That's it.

When I saw the reviews all I could think was that this is my bucket list Lexus and I wasn't even a fan of Lexus until the IS350. Then I saw the F and was hooked. That was 12 years ago and now I own one and I couldn't be happier with it. Maybe tomorrow I'll get to check out the Snow button. It's the only one I haven't used.

It's the same shit with the LFA. EVERYONE and their mother hated that car when it was released. It was too pricey, too slow compared to rivals, looked weird and ugly, dated single clutch transmission, on and on and on. Now, all the reviewers and internet keyboard warriors that hated the LFA and busting a nut about it as if they always loved it. I was the only one in my group of car friends that fell in love with the LFA and it's technical marvels on release. Now, these same friends love it. Gotta love these hypocrites.

@@sdlausen1 I actually had pleasure of driving in LFA at Lexus insider event at NJMP in 2010 as well as IS-F. We were on lighting track what day. Incredible sound and performance of LFA and IS-F surprise the hell out of me. Especially after horrible experience of 2008 M3 I purchased, it had steering wheel locking up. Nav screen not working. DCT issues spent more time at dealership than driving it. Lemonad it after 1yr of fighting BMW North America. Picked up 2011 IS-F and 10yrs later still own it FBO RR Racing Tune and Tuned intake port and polished TB Figs Engineers suspension components both KWv3 coilovers and Airlift3H perfomance suspension. Now RR Racing Stage III Supercharger 106k miles runs flawlessly. And LFA $375k price that all detractors said was way to much for Lexus are nowxgoing for 600k plus and Nuremberg Edition are going for million dollars.

Just picked up a blue 2010 final facelift ISF, also had a 08 for 5 years. Sold that one but regretted it. I can’t praise the ISF enough, phenomenal cars.

ISF never had a “face lift” although some describe the 2011 that way because they changed the headlights.

@@damascus-ut1ee It wasn’t a final facelift but it was revised. The MY11 got the new steering ECU, the updated guages with the tach in the middle, different coloured carbon fibre trim inside and updated suspension set up.

@@GRfourfun Facelifts usually refer to exterior, my point was 2010 received no changes in that manner. Some interior changes were kept from 09 like the black radio buttons and above air vent, Blue bottom steering wheel added, Bluetooth music capabilities, LSD diff, wheels, and more. 2011+ saw a slightly different exterior change in the form of headlight-only, with the LED daytime strip. Interior got alcantara seat inserts (in North America), changes you mentioned and more. 2012, 2013, and 2014 each got individual changes as well later.

@@damascus-ut1ee My car was plated as a 10 but was a MY11. The first owner was Lexus UK so it was the first MY11 in the country. Also it’s the one that races a blue LFA on TH-cam. The MY11 received the most upgrades as the 12/13/14 only got suspension changes, vsc relocation and changes to the climate control here in the UK.

@@GRfourfun North America versus Rest-of-World were a little different as far as AFS, seat insert material, and more. However, in press releases for each model year, Lexus marketed them as I described them in my previous posts. That being- 2010 with the changes I described as well as the 2011. Unfortunately ROW didn’t get some of these options.
The 2012 got Sachs shocks (Tokiko were previous). Also a different paint color and wider wheels. 2013 got different springs and shocks to be refined again, most recent radio/nav firmware and two new colors. 2014 for Alcantara arm rest and door inserts, ‘F' embroidered headrests, carbon fiber trunk spoiler and LED Fogs.

Honestly, if it was a 2010 or higher, that would be good. For an 08 with 30k miles on it, that's over priced in my opinion. $25k-$27k(at most) Now if you were selling it, then I'd say sell it for 30k lol.

    • @mannylupercio8194

It really depends imo. Are you going to drive it a lot? 33k is a low mile, weekend mint car price that you plan to keep to ride out the rarity of it. If you plan to DD, I wouldn't go there. Best case scenario in any case is at least a 2010 or 2011 since they upgraded them around that time i.e LSD, suspension, etc.

All smooth and no issues with the intake and tune? Some people on the clublexus forums have stated there is some odd hesitation with the intake system and they had to remove the shielding and the filter. Went back to oem filter box but retained the bigger RR intake arm.
AOS, intake, and tune came in the mail for me few days ago. Looking to install soon. Maybe will leave out that RR box+supplied filter.
