There are 3 types of Wandavision watchers: Those who wanted the first 3 episodes to last longer, those who hated the first 3 episodes, and those who expected Twin Peaks 2 Electric Bugaloo
The sitcom thing kinda wore out its welcome. Having characters acting out drama that we know is going to be meaningless later on is not a good idea.

The biggest misconception I keep seeing is that people think Wanda created Westview. Wanda’s magic created westview on its own without her knowing. She was Felt grief and infinite nothingness and lost control of her powers which allowed it to act on its own accord.

I didnt think the cgi looked bad and the "bad editing" he mentioned with wanda walking super fast was a reference to age of ultron and i don't think he knew that there was a valid reason for it.

I don’t think that having an ending battle is bad necessarily, but I would have loved it if it had been set in switching sitcom eras. I just think it would have been cool to see a cartoony superhero fighting a cartoony supervillain go to a comedy skit
This is exactly how I feel about it. I feel like they went full Marvel-movie on the ending rather than sticking to the sitcom settings which made the show feel so unique in the first place. It wasn't too bad, just a lot of wasted potential which they missed a chance to use.
That actually woulda been pretty cool, not gonna lie, haha.
It'd be like the portal fight from Thor 2, except they keep shooting through the scenes they did and add a few more cameos settings like for The Office or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
@@jackdavenport5011 To be fair, that HAS always been what they advertised what the show was going to be like, even in the early interviews way back from Endgame. Paul has said a lot of "It's so wacky and zany in the first few episodes until it becomes the staple Marvel movies we all know." So I guess to them, it stuck its landing.
I think they saved that for the end so it could make you feel emotional for all the things vision and scarlet have been trough together. (BTW for people just going through comment section, sorry for spoilers)

Darcy tells Monica that each time she goes through the barrier, her cells are being rewritten on a molecular level. It’s safe to assume that going through the barrier enough times could’ve mutated her cells in a way that gave her powers.
Mutations generally only help to kill you. I get that it’s Marvel, we obviously shouldn’t expect it to be realistic, but the way Monica got her powers just seemed lazy.

Yes they made a statement that Disney plus series will not have any major reveals rather they will set up the major reveals that will be showed in movies (that way you don’t have to watch the series to understand the next movies)
That’s what I’ve been thinking. I feel the movies are going to be the larger stories with them being sequels to past films, more introductions to new heroes, and movies for established heroes who should’ve gotten it years ago. Meanwhile, the series’ are going to give more focus to heroes who haven’t gotten much of their own screen time, along with also introducing new heroes, but in more extended stories

Honestly I felt that they didn't need Agatha. I thought the whole series was pointing to Wanda being the villain and that was super compelling all on it's own. Wanda having a psychotic break and dealing with that in a really twisted way was so interesting to me, but then you lose that when a lot of that's blamed on Agatha.

To be fair, it IS Wanda having a psychotic break for the most part, Agatha just nudges her in the direction she wants.
Which tbh does beg the question of why she even exists. I can easily accept stuff like pseudo-Pietro and Sparky and his death and proposed rebirth as just blips of loss of control. Honestly her going out of the barrier and telling the cops to leave her alone was, to me, a more powerful reveal than Agatha's, as we learn that, even if we're not sure of just how much conscious control she has over the anomaly now, if any, she knows about it and is content with it

i liked the idea of wanda subconsciously trying to bring back pietro, and just overall getting too used to filling in the missing parts of her life with fake realities to the point where she does it without realizing for every little thing she misses

The cgi was completely fine. Everyone always says the cgi is bad even when the cgi isn’t bad.
I had no problems with the cgi. It looked good. I don’t see where he’s coming from this. Like, I could tell the Black Panther CGI wasn’t the greatest, and this was miles better. Plus he doesn’t even mention how the fight isn’t even really a DBZ laser fight as that’s all a ruse for Wanda to cast runes. I thought that was really smart. Maybe that’s just me tho

I really wish they’d stuck with the sitcom thing to the end. Even when the hex was coming apart, instead of just a sky beam in a modern time with a CGI battle, couldn’t they have had Agatha and Wanda battle throughout the sitcom ages? Imagine the flashes of purple and red magic in the black-and-white world. Imagine if their battle got interrupted by a commercial. There was so much potential with this premise!
That’s cool and if u check MCU direct on twitter they said they rewritten the finale the most times and I believe corona made the finale fell due to the restrictions because we were going to get a side plot with Monica and the twins and Doctor strange supposed to appear

“The mysteries were cooler than the reveals” instantly made me think of LOST.
I think people were too caught up in the ~mysteries~ of Lost when it was always more about the characters and their growth rather than being caught up in nonsense questions that were answered in the show like "but what about the polar bears???" With WandaVision, it was about they mystery of what was happening just as much as it was about exploring grief, but unfortunately they couldn't find a good way to explore the grief without tearing down all the mystery

I agree with most stuff but the “where was Dr. Strange” question is something I had grown more upset about until I realized one thing. If Dr. Strange (the only character that would have any reason to notice it happening) could tell it was happening, he could also sense Wanda. He’s been gone for 5 years and has a lot of magical shiz to clean up, and so he had to say “look, Wanda is there. If it’s not sorted out in like a week, once I’ve solved these other 40 problems, I’ll go check it out.”
Yeah ikr! Like these heroes have sh!t do besides helping out another hero in their solo movies/shows. I hate this complaint, clearly the other heroes have to do other things.

My issue with wandavision is the aspect of "tv sitcom" slowly disappearing, I really liked how the sitcoms were, but in the finale it just felt like another marvel ending, other than that, it was good
The theme of the sitcoms was to show Wanda’s escape from reality. Reality returning to the normal MCU at the end was to show she has broken out of her delusion.

I really liked the show overall, the real world sequences and figuring out the mysteries kept me more entertained and invested, it was indeed a great experience to kick in a start on phase four.
I agree with Schaff completely that the show was overall good, but the mysteries were better than the reveals.
It's cool that we have flashbacks of how she got her powers, BUT I looked at wikipedia to see how the comics explained her powers, and she was basically born with 'Chaos' bending (something like that). Before the reveal that she got them from Hydra, I thought "Maybe she got them from the Reality stone (the red one), sense Cap Marvel got hers from a Tesseract powered engine.🤔". In short, it's a situation of "showing less is more. It leaves a bit to the imagination."😊😊

And she had the power in hanced by the mind stone to the pointed when she can use chaos magic to her full extent... If you really wanted to be hypes by the ending or by the whole Agatha character you must be a comic book fan.. not staying that you aren't but by what you put it seems you aren't
@@marshmallowvampire8503 I mean, we’ve known she got her powers from the mind stone since Age of Ultron by Hydra, this show actually just showed that she’s always had them since she was a kid (that’s why the bomb didn’t go off) but to a lesser degree and she didn’t know about them.
I beg to differ. The real world sequences completely sucked me out of the immersion, it treated the audience as if it were stupid. The pay off would have been much bigger if the people inside the bubble were the ones to figure it out, but the lab scenes felt really forced and unnecessary.

Agreed I understand of the critiques of the show but I overall really liked the show the mystery and world building were great and I liked pretty much all of the characters (including Darcy I know people don’t like her but I think she's funny)
Flying sky battle is pretty generic i'll admit. Should of have the two of them running through the town fighting each other with common sitcom tropes. Like having a bunch of nuts falling on Agatha or a Agatha tossing a bunch of lobsters at Wanda for a call back from the first episode. But it was good as is.
I disagree, considering they ditched the sitcom approach later in the show, all of what you described would probably be a bit jarring and take away from the emotional heart behind Wanda's character (especially at the end where she says goodbye to Vision)

Im quite disagree. Making a comedic sitcom fight as finale fight. It would anticlimaxed all the emotions, tensions, and anything else that had been building up during last episodes.
I think Wanda Vision used a story setting that was too big for their intended scope. Hayward could've been a real antagonist with legitimate concerns over Wanda's terrifying powers without turning into the Big Bad corrupt government. We got TWO 'villain with the same powers as the hero', but at least vision had a satisfying resolution. White Vision feels like a major gap in the conclusion. WV was very creative, but ran out of gas way too soon
I felt like he was left open intentionally. I don't doubt we'll be seeing him again, possibly in a crucial moment involving Wanda

And he acts like superheroes from other movies not showing up to help in a new movie/TV show about a superhero is a new and obscene thing. If you're going to make the argument that "where was X when Y" you should do the same for practically every superhero movie in existence. It's a very unfair criticism. Not to mention that just making the argument alone is bland and not fun.

@@justarandomguy378 she's confirmed to be in the movie, but I doubt she's the villain, especially since Strange has more than enough villains for a good story (if anything, Mordo is still out there taking powers off the sorcerers).
Also, secret identities were never a big deal in the MCU and I'd like it to be kept that way. This doesn't mean that Spidey won't wish to revert his secret identity scandal, given that "he killed a fellow superhero"
I personally enjoyed the ending and didn't mind the CGI, but I do think Agatha wasn't the best idea. Her song was mega catchy, but I think the show would have been better if it focused exclusively on Wanda as the only "villain" and watching her go through the five stages of grief. By having Agatha and a big CGI fight, it sort of takes too much away from Wanda and I also get why the SWORD guys were boring. Her Scarlet Witch outfit was really cool though.
also, my friends and I all agreed that Wanda's family fighting the bad guys and doing cool poses felt very Incredibles 😂

Not a real witch or big bad but more or less a person still trapped in Wanda tv show but playing the antagonist.
We’re shown that each episode Wanda transitioning into a different time periods for her television show, and in later American television there were stories with storylines and a lot of them involved witches or magical based tv shows. (Charmed)
So Agatha would have been playing a role and Wanda is the main character so…..
Ok, so I’ve noticed a pattern Schaffrillis’ tastes in his reviews. Nothing negative just an observation.
He doesn’t tend to like characters that are majorly comic relief or otherwise Overly comedic and positive in scenarios where they likely shouldn’t be.
He didn’t like Sisu for the same reasons or at least similar reasons he doesn’t like Darci here. Again, perfectly reasonable to dislike these characters, everyone has opinions this is simply an observation.

In fairness though, I feel like with Darcy, she was also in two other movies which, while people are free to disagree with, she wasn't that funny there either.
Maybe she's better here (I'll admit ti having not seen it because I don't have Disney+), but I'll also admit that when I saw she was here, I thought, "really, you brought her back?"
I think Darcy was used better in this show bc she played off of two people who, like, actually needed her input. In the Thor movies, Jane and the old guy were the “smart ones” who helped Thor figure out what’s going on, and while Darcy kind of worked as the levity in the weird situation (and did have some funny moments, like tasing Thor), Thor was arguably better and more charming comic relief. By the second movie you kind of realized that you could write her out of the script and nothing would change. In Wandavision, not only is she needed to figure out the main mystery of the show, but she acts as the brains to the “normal people” trio, with Monica as the brawn who takes action when others won’t, and Jimmy as the heart who never stops trying to help the people around him. She even has an actual moment of levity/not-comedy with Vision when she reassured him of his and Wanda’s love for each other. Overall she works better here because her inclusion in the plot is justified and her dynamic with her main trio is more balanced. I honestly want to see more of her and her friendship with Jimmy and Monica after this, which is something I never thought after the Thor movies. (Especially Thor 2, bleh.)

@@gonhunter3994 This is slightly off topic, but still related. I've seen people complain about how Rita Farr's(Elasti-Girl) character in Doom Patrol is weaker than how she is in the comics and how that's lame. I know not everyone thinks like this, and I understand feeling disappointment for a lack of "action" and superpowers being displayed in a hero show.
Nonetheless, I feel sad when some people say Rita's a worse character because of her insecurity and lack of finesse with her powers. The entire show thrives upon morally questionably people with troubled pasts dealing with their insecurities, and it eloquently displays themes of family, self-love, and redemption. Rita is made FAR more compelling and relatable beecause of her comical (but good hearted) attempts at heroism and her deep self loathing.
The show isn't just that. It's a fantasy show with tons of mystical, cosmic, and scientific wonders and horrors and embraces that as a part of its identity. However, when some fans complain about all the dialogue and slow moving character arcs (which is valid criticism), I feel like they're missing out on the beauty of the show. Because, not everyone would fit into typical archetype of a "confident hero", and not everything needs to be action packed with witty dialogue and epic fights. I'd rather have some slightly under choregraphed fight scenes that specifically show characters' motives and shortcomings than a bunch of entertaining, but ultimately emotionless, action sequences (not everything with heroes is like this). It didn't look bad but it was kinda generic tbh. Like... the show was pretty unique and different from everything else in the MCU, so having the climax be a generic battle that looks like it could belong in any superhero show is kind of underwhelming.

I watched this show with my parents and they disliked the first three episodes because "nothing was happening". They actually liked episode 4 because it gave them some answers, so while I disagree with WandaVision revealing what was happening that early, I understand it was probably for audience retention.

And Wanda and Vision where such a good duo. What a shame that we might not see them like that again.

The reason no other heroes came is because many “retired” or took a break after the blip and also this entire show happened in a week and Hayward was keeping it secret from the public or even the other branches of government since we see him get arrested at the end so the heroes that are still active didnt have time to help or were even notified
I think the other avengers might be scared of Wanda after what she almost did to thanos. It’s just weird how they all left her alone, especially Hawkeye who could’ve taken her in and given her a family

also i'm honestly a little disappointed that agatha was a genuine antagonist. she was fun of course, but i thought they were going to pull a second twist, that wanda was simply pushing agatha into the role of a villain so she wouldnt have to take accountability for her own actions
interesting. i liked agatha a lot, I thought she was a fantastic villain, but I agree that I wanted a little more time on diving into wanda's actions. not necessarily why she did it, because the show lets us know that it was a trauma response and basically an accident, but why she didn't stop it, or why she wasn't concerned. because it wasn't like agatha was controlling her. once wanda knew that she had created this world, she wanted to keep it that way no matter what, to the point where she even hurt monica and gaslit vision. wanda was not at all innocent in that and even if ppl wanted to deny that she was a true villain, i wish they spent time on what it meant that she purposefully did something wrong and made her take accountability
That is exactly what I thought was going to happen. When they did the first reveal I totally thought Wanda just made Agatha a villain to blame her mistakes on.

I'm guessing that she was constantly forcing Wanda to try and acknowledge what she was doing. Sparky dies, why can't she just make him come back to life like everyone else? Quicksilver shows up and makes her question her life as well, which was sent in by Agatha, and she also controlled the magic show??? I don't know what the point of that is lol
I know right?! I've seen in the documentary that the reason why the decades changed was because something went wrong. It reminded me of "Agatha all along", but I still can't see what she did, like, I can see Pietro, killing Sparky, but in the other episodes, things seemed to went wrong because of anything else, so yeah, I haven't figured out too.

She basically was sowing seeds. She’s the one that subconsciously convinced her to have children. She’s the one that drew out visions suspicions by manipulating the others, and revealing Rambeau as an outsider. She killed the dog, and brought back Pietro. She also tried to draw out information from Wanda. Basically she was just trying to figure out how Wanda’s powers worked, what they encompassed, and generally just learning about her, while also slowly trying to bring her back to reality.

The only change that has happened to people who pass the wall is physically different clothes. Doctor Strange was reportedly going to be in the finale, and the finale was actually going to be a lot different, including like, the rabbit turning into a demon and everything, but things had to be restructured due to Covid and their limited ability to film.

i was in love with almost every episode until the last one. they had such potential to do something different and unique, which they did, until they made agatha a one note boring villian and it had to end with the big bad cgi sky battle
I don’t know why people were expecting a more exciting battle at the end. Agatha absorbs Wanda’s powers, meaning the fight is not possible unless Wanda just spends the whole time throwing different objects at her.
The “battle” was the mind games they played with eachother before they flew into the sky.

I really loved the show, but there’s something that bothered me a little: Wanda’s ties with the Avengers were almost never explored.
Is she worried about what her friends would think of her considering what she did? Is this part of why she decided to isolate herself in the end? Because she feels too ashamed to approach Clint or any of her old teammates? Does she still feel worthy of being an Avenger?
I feel like next installments really should explore these plotlines if they want to put Wanda’s morality in question in a satisfying way.
And I‘d also really like to see her interacting with Clint again. I enjoyed their relationship a lot despite the little screentime it had

@@benjaminwambeke9458 While I think this is only meant to be the first glimpse of Wanda's true power - which means that we're not going to see much of it yet - I agree that the cackling and energy bolt throwing was pretty underwhelming. However, I think that part of the final episode was small enough to tolerate, since all the other things that happened in that episode were awesome! All the character moments with Wanda, Vision, the kids, Monica, and Agent Woo were wonderful, and I think they were the main point of the episode. So I'm satisfied. (ESPECIALLY since the Vision vs. Vision battle was so fucking good.) Frankly, I'm willing to ignore a lot of mistakes in the finale, on behalf of the Vision confrontation, and with the knowledge that we're only scratching the surface of Wanda's true power. I'm not going to judge anything yet, because I know we haven't seen the final payoff. But I'm eagerly waiting for it.
Wanda was using the energy bolts as a distraction so she could "miss" Agatha and create the runes on the sides of the hex, it was on purpose to use a basic attack to let Agatha's guard down while she was creating the runes

I think cgi fights work fine in movies like guardians of the galaxy, but here it just did not work.

It’s more because of the acting and choreography. A tense hand to hand or even close quarters fight feels a lot more grounded and has a lot more at stake than people flying and shooting magic beams at each other. Magic is best when it ISNT “cgi energy blasts” but rather then effects of the spell, eg objects changing or flying around. The more you use practical effects and keep fights grounded, the more realistic sense of the scale the audience has, it’s like the Superman effect where two powerful beings just smash each other around and can float and can’t really hurt each other, the fight loses all sense of realistic bounds and tension. I liked the atmospheric background effects and Wandas transformation, but the constant “aAaAAAHAHAhAAHHHHHHH” from Agnes and generic energy beams weren’t really engaging or tense at all.
6:00 Actually, Dr. Strange was trying to help her out throughout the series. The little commercials that happened after some scenes through out the series was Dr.Strange trying to contact Wanda. All of the commercials had something to do with Wanda’s life and Dr.Strange thinking she’s trapped or something like that, was hoping it would help her remember her real life.
Monica didn't get powers for "no reason from walking through the barrier" If you were paying any attention you'd know she got powers because her cells had already been rewritten twice over or so and so her going through the barrier that third time is what ended up giving her powers. It wasn't for no reason, I believe they're setting her character up to be more important & reoccurring as we get deeper into phase 4.
Honestly Agatha stole the whole show for me, her entire character was just enjoyable from start to finish. Her theme song slaps harder than most Disney villain songs

I really wish they stuck with the original premise longer, maybe even only bringing in the real world in the show's finale. It reminded me of how I felt about Once Upon a Time, being pretty invested in the interesting ideas of the first season's mysteries only to stop watching after the secret was out and everyone started acting too much like their corresponding magical fairy tale characters.

Once upon a time was such a let down show. After season 1 every single major plot was introducing someone who ended up being related to a major character. Which was dumb.

It would have been really cool if the outside world was only hinted at until the end. Like, we see Wanda push Monica through the world, maybe even see her laying outside the border with the military, but that's it. Then everything else that happens just goes unexplained until the finale
For anyone wondering. Her kids are 100% coming back. I can't explain the whole story (it's fucking comics, confusing is part of the description) but both Billy and Tommy come back.
They reincarnate as two other children born shortly after Wanda creates a fake reality for her and vision to live an ideal life. Yeah this show is literally just that, so I kinda expected it from the start but that's besides the point.
Billy comes back and takes the name asgardian when he's recruited by a young Kang the conqueror. He later takes the name Wiccan after captain america yells at him. (He is also probably the best LGBTQ+ rep ever) Tommy comes back as a criminal who later takes the name Speed. They both join the young avengers along side Kate Bishop (confirmed for the upcoming hawkeye show) Patriot (who we've seen in trailers for falcon and the winter soldier) Hulkling (a kree Skrill hybrid who I suspect will show up in captain marvel two) and cassidy lang who we've seen already.
Sorry for the rant but the MCU plans shit out way in advance. It's pretty impressive.
And speaking of which, Evan Peters as Pietro is 100% coming back once they decide to commit to bringing in the X-Men.

Fun fact: Doctor Strange was supposed to show up at the end of this show to help Wanda control her powers and to tease future movies. Sadly this never happened because Marvel was afraid of people accusing them of letting Dr Strange Mansplain to Wanda…that last part is actually true they were literally afraid of that.

To me, the real-world scenes and explanations for what was happening halfway through were perfectly placed. The first few episodes literally had me going 'So the MCU writers literally just went on Tumblr and found a 'Wanda x Vision but in the 50s AU uWu' fanfic and made it into a show? Great ಠل͟ಠ'
But then it was revealed what was happening, and now I had a reason to care about the sitcom world and not just reacting like Jimmy the whole time: "It's a sitcom starring two Avengers? Why?"

I kinda agree with what you're saying about never understanding CGI complaints, like for me when I a sci-fi spaceship or whatever and it doesn't look perfectly photorealistic, eh, fine by me. But with Wandavision, the show goes from having all this down-to-earth, mysterious magic, sci-fi tech, and the classic aesthetics of each era of television, to having two people just sort of hovering around shooting lasers at each other. In just one episode it loses that complexity and unique feel that made it so special, and now it looks like something that could be from any superhero movie or show. Plus, the fact that when they're flying around like that you know that literally nothing around them is real, where previously everything had utilized lots of practical effects. Also as a rule, just blasting lasers and fireballs which only ever do as much damage as the plot requires feels a lot less impactful than a fight with actual real-world weapons, where when a person is shot, punched, or stabbed, you can actually empathize with their pain more easily.
Kind of a lot, I know, but just my disjointed two cents.
I mean, that's just it, right? It's just fine for the show but not mind blowing. And imo, it doesn't need to be. But I understand Schaffrillas not being okay with it.
It was okay. The fight was boring and the CGI wasn't worth it if all they did was shoot blasts of power at each other.
It's mostly that every superhero movie ends that way. Every one of them. And there are so many ways to make something unique and new, but instead we see the same thing over and over and over again.

I agree I really liked the finale the sit come mystery stuff was really cool but it was clear that it was only going to be part of the show and that by the end it was going to be more like other marvel movies also if we got to the end of the show without Wanda using her powers in a fight that would have been super disappointing as she is one of the strongest characters in the mcu and has some of the coolest powers. Also have to say that I don’t see how the cgi in the last episode was bad I thought it looked really good

By the finale, people expected Mephisto, Doctor Strange, Mutants like professor X and Magneto, Reed Richards, Evan Peters as a good Quicksilver and a 'Luke Skywalker level cameo'. When people expect so much it's impossible to make finale that's liked by everyone, seeing as you can't just introduce all those characters and follow the hype
@@reanalysaa6430 I think that the argument of the finale “Not fitting the show” that it was doesn’t really work, especially since Schafrillas used Doctor Strange’s ending as a example and that was a incredibly cinematic movie with a ending that’s smarter, which literally proves that you don’t have to have the ending match the beginning, as long as it makes logical sense and it builds up to it in a satisfying way. It’s the same thing with WandaVision- I always knew that the WestView bubble would have to go out, since Wanda made it out of Trauma and grief, living without it would be symbolically overcoming all the trauma and heartbreak. In addition, it ending in an action-packed way was logical to happen- Hayward is planning on using lethal force on Wanda, and Wanda is perfectly willing to fight him, as evidenced by the scene where she made the army men point their guns at Hayward- that was a very obvious way to foreshadow the final development.
Second of all, the CGI is not awful. I’ve seen mustache Superman, Doomstay, and StephenWolf- The CGI is good overall, especially if you compare it against the atrocious DC CGI.
Third, the editing is NOT awful. The scene’s where it appears to be a little “Choppy” work since those only happen when Wanda is using her powers to misdirect Agatha and get inside her head- it’s supposed to feel a little weird, since it’s trippy and weird to have your head invaded by a Scarlet Witch. And all the other editing is readable, and it’s pretty good. It’s not a masterclass like the editing in The Force Awakens, but it’s pretty darn great.
Also, the ending feeling different from the rest of the show- this was built up by the other episode that Schaf called “Bad.” (Which I don’t think is bad either) Essentially, we’re getting Vision to figure out what is happening, Hayward just got, what is essentially, a giant attack on his base by trying to capture all his people in a sitcom land and enslaving more humans- but we’re also getting some solid perspectives on what’s going on- Wanda capturing an entire town is viewed as bad, and with Vision gone, Wanda’s true emotional state is revealed- that of being incredibly distraught, dealing with Trauma. It shows that although she did do something horrible by capturing the town, she was grieving. It also shows that in addition to the previous Traumas, the stress piling up on her is really distorting her control. Having things be NOT a sitcom and NOT changing through sitcom-years is getting some control over her emotional state, and healing- evidenced by how in the climax, she is FORCED to confront her demons and FORCED by circumstance to heal- which is why everything is more normal and is not as weird- Wanda is confronting her Demon’s.
Not to mention, the action is pretty fly- it’s not like Man of Steel, where although it’s visually interesting, it’s- PUNCH PEOPLE THROUGH BUILDINGS, PUACH THEM TO THE FLOOR, PUANCH THEM ACROSS AREAS WITH THE SAME STUFF REPEATEDLY HAPPENING UNTIL THE END- instead, the action is smarter. When Vision is fighting Weapon-Vision, they have themselves phase through each other to gain the upper hand, trying to get the fighting away from the children, (Unlike Man of Steel, in which Superman doesn’t care about how many farmers and office workers he has to sacrifice in order to defeat Zod, until the very end, where he all of a sudden cares if people die when he didn’t when hurling Zod through buildings, with *people in them.* 🙄)
Wanda vs Agetha is also fun, since Agetha is using the Townspeople against Wanda, using her guilt and trauma against her, and since Agetha knows more about magic and absorbs power, it’s a situation where Wanda has more innate power than Agetha, but since Agetha has a very specific skill set, Agetha is able to easily counter it. Wanda has to be smart to gain the upper hand, and face her Truama and past sins when Agetha used the townspeople against her. Heck, the only reason that Wanda wins is by outsmarting Agetha- and the defeat of Agetha is perfect karmic justice- We have here a villain who used magic to disguise as someone else, and used the disguise to trick and manipulate Wanda. She has an advantage since she knows about magic more than Wanda. Then that Villain is defeated when Wanda used the knowledge Agetha gloatingly told her to defeat her, then punished her by trapping her to forever act in the role that she chose- it’s brilliant. Freaking brilliant.
But after all the action, all the villains, the show still knows it’s heart- the relationship between Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and this beautifully painful world and truama that Wanda has- and she finally lets go, having an ending where she stops her evil acts, tries to apologize, and leaves the place where her truama resided- and accepted her role as the Scarlett Witch. Amazing ending- not as great as Endgame, but it ties enough loose ends to be a good ending while still ending openly enough to continue the MCU. I give it a round of applause. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Now, it’s not a perfect climax or episode- The children could have played a larger role, and for all of Monica’s talk about “Helping Wanda” she doesn’t really do much besides deal with Fietro and give a few lines at the end- I think it would’ve been better if Fietro was literally watching the kids, and Monica was saving them, then Monica would be with the kids when they meet up and would play a much larger role- but those moments aren’t bad, and all the other very good stuff more than makes up for it- and overall, the climax was pretty darn amazing.
Overall, WandaVision is not a 7/10, it’s an 8.5 or a 9/10. 7/10 is way too low of a rating for a show that does so well and gets this much right.
I also think that the episodes that cut between the military base and the bubble reality are better and serve more of a purpose than Schafrillas gives it credit for, but I’ll only talk about that if you are interested in hearing my thoughts about that too.
About the CGI part, they had to rushed because they were behind schedule and obviously COVID. They were also supposed to have Señor Scratchy turn into a Demon and attack Monica, Ralph, Darcy and the Kids but didnt cuz its CGI.

There was just a lot of dumb shit thrown at the wall to keep the viewers’ attention because the writers didn’t trust the plot to do that on its own.

The big misstep in the series was not committing to having Wanda as a villain.
In the comics, Wanda oscillates between being a hero and being a villain all the time. This would have been wonderfully in keeping with her character to keep her as the main antagonist. Not to mention, it would have been ten times more emotionally resonant. Sometimes good people do bad things out of grief and an inability to control their emotions. It would have worked beautifully, and the actress was doing such a great job at portraying what was a really unique kind of villain that I don't believe we've ever really seen in a Marvel property on screen before.
As much fun as the Agatha song was, she ended up being a really disappointing last-minute baddie. When she first appeared, I figured maybe she was the one behind the Hex to begin with, but it just turned out that no, she just waltzed in and tried to suck up the magic. The only purpose she actually served was to exposit more about Wanda's true powers to her, and beyond that she really had absolutely no place in this story whatsoever. And the Hayworth character was just cardboard level bland. Not to mention, reforming Wanda at the end removed all culpability on her part and absolved her of consequences, which I think is probably the worst thing the show could have done with her story arc. There's nothing more insulting to the viewer's intelligence than watching a protagonist skirt the ramifications of their bad decisions JUST because they're the "hero." As much as I can look past the show's other shortcomings, that to me is the show's one unforgivable sin.
The show fell into the exact same trap that almost all the other Marvel shows do, which is switching up villains at the halfway mark and failing to commit to a single central conflict. Nearly all the Netflix shows did it, Agents of SHIELD did it constantly, and now WandaVision has done it. I really hope they can break that habit, because it's always what ends up ruining shows that start out with tons of promise. Every time they pull this switcheroo, it always leaves the story feeling weaker and less interesting.

I found myself sympathetic with Wanda at times, but still felt a sense of injustice everytime Monica/Darcy/or any other "good" character insisted on labeling her actions as heroic without considering the real consequences she brought and the responsability she holds over them, or simply telling us her grief/love/pain justified eveything.Monica literally said "they'll never know what you sacrificed for them" as in Wanda releasing the town from her spell was some great gesture when it was merely what anyone with a moral would realise they had to do, and she's never held accountable for that. So it really left a bittersweet taste to me, even if I think they will actually make her the villain in her next appearances.

But that's just it, this wasn't a World Ending Event. This was a Mental breakdown for Wanda, and a Greedy Witch's power hungry Curiousity at play in the Hex! It had alot of fun moments, a lot of Dark Moments and ALOT of sad moments as we delve into Wanda's Psychie.
The World wasn't going to end in this. But Wanda's World was what had to go away for her to realize the truly terrifying power she had.
Nothing in the show was world ending tho.

This show as a whole got me more invested into Wanda's and Vision's relationship compared to previous MCU movies
It was really interesting to hear your viewpoints on this. I actually felt the reverse of what you did on most of this. I thought that the sitcom episodes were fun but I actually only started really getting invested once we flashed to the outside world in episode 4. I felt the flashback episode was actually pretty weak but still good. I liked the finale but agree that it was a bit messy. It felt like they had too much they were trying to wrap up too quickly.
I feel like the runes part of the battle where she tricked Agatha was quite similar in a way to the Dormammu scene in doctor strange
This show suffers from what I call "Gravity Falls Syndrome". The mysteries that surround the plot will always be more interesting than the actual answers.
We are all still waiting for season 3, but the probability of that isn’t very high

Gravity Falls' was meant to be like that for the first season before it went the weirdmageddon route. It was meant to have some great myth actually just be something lame like dwarves. that was the whole beauty of the show specially considering Stan and the lot

Maybe for the final battle with Agatha and Wanda they could do a on ground battle with Wanda using the rules of the sitcom to her advantage and having sitcom time periods spiraticly jump back and forth sort of like how it did on episode 7 but it is used as a battle ground.
