    now my high beam suits my low beam making my headlight fully projectors lights... very happy with the outcome..remember guys this can be done on any car not just a mercedes w203... if u have factory lights and dont have projector lights ..this mod would be perfect to bring your headlights to a more updated look.... more to come for both w203 and w204

    Hey Mike another great video just thought I would share a little bit of knowledge that I have acquired see when you are putting on the clear cover and you made reference to giving it a wipe out to keep it clean if for any reason the plastic has yellowed at all sound it with a very very fine sandpaper perhaps 1500 you will see and milking is coming oh sorry you use water as well you will see it become milky then get a compound or t-cut and polish use a drill attachment if you have it and it will come up like brand new and to keep it that way then when you are finished and the lights are the positions you can buy a clear spray with ultraviolet protection that will stop your lights from going yellow in time well worth doing it also add to the shine of the finish

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ

    Hello, I watched some of your videos, they were very helpful,I have a question, for Benz w209, it has original xenon lights, can I change the xenon bulbs with LED headlights?? please tell me the model, which base should I buy, by the way, W209 and W203 classes have the same lamp base model, thank you.

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok so first of all whenever you go from xenon to led u always must condier errors.. usually u need a decoder or a led bulb that has a built in capacitor/ error free cancellors.. not there are alor of different bulbs out there , i cant suggest any single model because they are all different and they work differently on different models , w208 and w203 have similar headlights but they are diffeent xenon are basically projector bulbs and halogen are the style that arent projected , and basically reflct off a oval dish inside headlight
      now u say u have xenon, meaning u have the projector headlights , thats good, but the difference is still, do u have halogen bnulbs in the xenons or do u have hid in your xenons?
      once u figure this out u will know what type of bulbs u need, my w204 had halogens originally and then i swapped out the headlights fopr these xenons which still had halogen bulbs inside, then i went to hids with ballasts , and then i went to leds, and i need error cancelling decoders cuz i got flickering, the bulbs didnt stay on they came on and then went off again, thats due to leds in place of halogens, different power consumptions, thats why u use decoders/capacitors, they send continuous voltage to the bulbs so it can keep producing 12v and not flicker like mine did...
      i hope all this makes sense
      heres my tip
      remove a bulb see what size bulb it is and especially what type it is
      then u look for a replacement bulbs in led or hid whatever your preference is
      once u select your bulbs , then u consider if it has built in decoder and if it will work with your lights , be sure to ask the seller
      u want error cancelling bulbs and also make sure you look for canbus free light bulbs, cuz our cars have a canbus module , and the bulbs need to be compatible with canbus or else it wont work and u will get error messages and or experience flickering or no lights
      hope this helps u out
      like i said sometimes its about doing the research and asking the right questions in order to select the right product, i dont wanna select a prosuct for u and it still doesnt work , u need to ask the right questions my friend to the seller

    Will the existing wiring hve to be changed

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      not at all it plugs into the existing wiring harness
      does ur car have projector lights now?
      if not then yes easily can be done
      halogen to xenon is easy... just ensure u measire everything before thinking about startinv..so ensure everything fits and will work... for eg.. the hole will acompany the led or projector light screw thread ... like how i had to frind mine out cuz it wasnt big enough.. but u can do that too...

    Hi Mikeyz great video 👍🏻
    I just have a question, I noticed your low beam/dipped beam are the xenon model but your car is not and you have a led bulb in it.
    Was it a straight swap or did you do anything else? And do you have a video for that swap?
    Thanks

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it was a direct swap .. I upgraded the headlights and they had halogen then I simple used led with decoders/ error free canbus resistors

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ

    Hi there, great video btw. One question though, I do not understand the resistor. How does it work? You are saying that it produces 12V and keeps the light going but when you give it constant power it should activate the small motor in the projector right? In this case, you are going to have high beams all the time in theory. Can you please explain this part? Thanks.

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so the resistor I there to ensure 12v power is constantly supplying enough .. because leds use less power .. things like resistors and capacitors are used in line to allow the constant output of power ... mercedes have a sam unit which detect voltage drops.. and wen there is one it throws an error ... hence why when u change halogen bulbs to leds ... u get errors becuz the led uses much less power causing voltage drops... with the resistor it's able to keep a stable current...

    • @redihoxha7650
      @redihoxha7650 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MIKEYZVLOGZ Ok thanks for the reply I understand that.
      What I am saying is that the small motor and the led wires are merged(permanent connection as you mentioned on 16:13 ) and they are getting the power from the same wire source: the high beam wires. So far so good when you are behind the wheel you give power to the led and force the motor to flick down to get that high beam. However, when you installed the resistor, it changed the game. Now it gets constant power and when you can control the motor. In my mind, it should have been two sets of wires
      1. That gives the led power(that it stays always on apparently which is very cool)
      2. Wires control the motor when you are behind the wheel to flick it up and down the metal thing with the spring.
      I do not understand how the resistor does that. I know it is working perfectly in your case but I think I have missed something that is driving me crazy. (I have a master degree in Mechatronic Engineering and I am thinking of going back to seminars to re-learn this stuff :D) Thanks in advance.

    Great video! I'll be retrofitting my headlights soon. So there is no problem fitting leds on aftermarket bixenon projectors as long as its canbus and error free, but wont they get too hot? My headlights are fully halogen and I think to install one projector for both high and low beam like the one you used in the video but are 2" projectors enough? Do you think 2.5" will be better or it doesn't matter. Im thinking of putting leds in the projectors

    • @MIKEYZVLOGZ
      @MIKEYZVLOGZ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      either are fine.. the way i see it .. whatever fits... no they won't get too hot... lights are made to get hot ...especially hid even leds get got... maybe not as hot as hid but still hot ... but it will be fine ... and leds in the projectors will be good i had them in as well no error messages .. for low beam. u may need the led resistors error cancelling
