    Could you make a video on the wiring of the lights and where you ran them to the battery

    I'm a new 100 series owner (99 champagne pearl) and new sub also. Your videos are great! One bit of constructive criticism I'd offer is it would be nice if you show the more difficult part for most people. Like routing the wires. I feel like if a person can't cleanly mount a light, their wire job would likely be atrocious and probably even unsafe as well. Totally not bashing your great videos, just offering up my 2 cents.

    I believe the bolt is called a shoulder bolt. How did you run the supply wires?

    • @chowcares
      @chowcares  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that’s it!! One positive wire to all the side lights and a separate one for rears. They run along the windshield, tucked into the side molding (there’s a nice groove that fits about 5 wires). Ground to where the rack bolts up to the roof.

    The correct name for this type of bolt is a "BUMPER BOLT". This type of bolt was used to fasten the steel bumpers to the bumper bracket of cars before the advent of integrated soft bumpers. A "shoulder bolt" is one with threads only on the lower portion of the bolt shaft with the upper portion being smooth. These are used when a snug fit is desired between the bolt shaft and the bolt hole.

    Looks like a Gobi roof rack but the roof mounts that mount the rack to the roof of the vehicle don’t say Gobi. Is this a Gobi knock off? If so, where can I get this roof rack? Thanks

    • @chowcares
      @chowcares  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The front of the rack has a plate that’s welded onto the roof rack
      Specifically for lights, no bracket required

    My bars aren’t round, but I’m thinking that would still work because it’s adjustable and has the padding inside that’ll form fit around it.
