I read the instructions and was totally confused! I watched the video and have no doubt it will be a simple install. Thank you for taking your time to share this.
Just did the install, took me about 40 minutes. I found the kit for $195 at one of my local dealers. The only part that confused me, and this is my fault for not looking closely at the grommet, was that the wiring harness feeds from the outside, going into the cab. I struggle trying to fit the rear connector through the hole, until I realized this... Again, I should have inspected the grommet orientation... Thanks for the video!
Thanks for making this video. It was a big help, and it cleared up many questions. As far as the difficult to plug into connector at the bottom of the rear of the cab, I carefully cut the felt tape holding the connector tight to the wiring loom. This enabled me to not have reached my hand way down and was a fairly simple connection after that. Again, thank you!
Thanks for the video, very helpful. The instructions I downloaded from Nissan made no sense. Installed today on my 2024 SV Long Bed. The harness was the perfect length for the long bed. No extra wire that had to be coiled up and zip tied.
I completed the install and my suggestion for you or anyone else is to take the seatbelt screw out from the bottom of the D Pillar and take the entire side cover off. I was able to get easier access to the plug and it didn’t take much longer. Excellent video though.
Thanks so much for your video!!!! Without it I would not have been able to install mine. Just finished and I had your video playing on my phone throughout the process.
They’re to tape any wiring behind the any carpet or liner. Just keep the wire in place and from making any rattle noise. Nissan typically packs them with any wiring kit for that purpose.
It’s doing great! Pretty loud when it locks. Considered putting some foam around it to help with the echo in the tailgate. I think adding the grease is helping avoid operating issues I’ve seen other have with this addition.
The worst part was accessing the connector behind the D-pillar. Everything else went smooth. In the long run, much easier than taking the key out of the fob each time and worrying if I locked the tailgate
@@kaoticmind09it wasn't really that bad, don't worry about pulling off the trim, worst case you snap or lose one of the connectors, you can always get more...
I’ll put them in the description. Thanks! cdn.z1motorsports.com/upload/OEM%202022+%20Nissan%20Frontier%20Electronic%20Tailgate%20Lock%20Instructions.PDF

I guess that i will give this a try. I don't usually mess with anything that's wired up, but this didn't look too bad. Thanks for the video.
Good Luck!

Thank you for the video it helped a lot. By chance do you know what the pieces of foam and rubber with the taped back-end in the box are for?

thanks for vid.
You bet
How’s the trigger holding up!?

Has anyone added this to a S model with the technology package?
Did you need to program the key to work at all?
No. The fob works unlocking the tailgate just as it does for the doors.
Thanks. Argh looks like a lot of work. Tell me I'm wrong :P

@@OregonOverland sounds good. Trying to figure out if I should attempt this myself
@@kaoticmind09 Yeah me too. I am sure that a mechanic will charge about $300 for the labor on this install.
