You need to gain altitude to assess the situation and determine if you can get back to the field. The pilot got dealt a bad hand, but he did everything he could to save the jet.

The F-16 performance is quite superior than the Tutor. The tutor can't got rolling in the vertical until 15000 ft. RIP Capt Jenn Casey. Hat off for women pilots.

I'm 5'8, 170lbs and have been right around there since I joined the Navy and flew F4's and F-14's many years ago. G tolerance for shorter frames is a huge benefit. I'm literally the optimal body type to fly high G. It's not necessarily peak G, but endurance. I could easily hold 6g turns without much work much longer than some guys in the 6' range. As well...just getting in and out of the cockpit was a breeze for me. Now...take that and in my civilian flying, I'd MUCH rather be a couple inches longer in the torso in some aircraft. The King Air isn't a good fit for me, nor was one of the Hawker's I flew. The G III-V were all fine as well as every Boeing I've flown. Funny...I was listening to Maj Curran and said "She's GOT to be from the upper midwest somewhere". Sure enough, she's a Wisconsin native as well. I can usually guess within a 3 state radius now!lol!
That first girl,Capt. Dallaire I think,I love that oh so slight French accent. I like seeing woman getting to prove they can handle this kind of stuff. US finally in the last 5\10 years allowing woman in actual combat flying roles. Been women flying tankers for quite a while now,but finally allowed in "combat aircraft" To cool!

Congratulations girls. My 92 year old mother would have loved to be where you are. In the 60s she learned in aroncas and tripacers. She became an instructor at all levels and one of only a couple of faa designated examiners, aerobatic instructor and AWTA (all women’s transcontinental air racers) podium placer in the 60s. She has rolled lear jets but never got to fly in fighters although some of her lasting relations are with fighter Pilots she originally taught. So go girls my mother, still going in Prescott az, is my hero

I work in the trades and people say that its a tuff job and i agree but these ladys pilot jets and fighter jets my hats off to these ladys truly class acts and true badass's

They are still flying these old planes because they work well for the show the Snowbirds perform. These planes have an incredible low stall speed allowing them to perform some incredible maneuvers for nine plane formation. They are extremely dependable well maintained aircraft. Snowbird pilots love the plane. To replace these planes careful thought will be needed if the Snowbirds are to continue flying nine ships and perform the same maneuvers.

I absolutely love our United States Air Force "Thunderbirds" Flight Demonstration Squadron of the 57th Wing from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada and their awesome Lockheed Martin Block 52 F-16CM and F-16DM Fighting Falcons "Vipers", our United States Navy "Blue Angels" Flight Demonstration Squadron from Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida and their awesome Boeing F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornets "Rhinos" that replaced the awesome McDonnell Douglas/Boeing F/A-18C and F/A-18D Hornets and their United States Marine Corps Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules that replaced the Lockheed C-130T Hercules as "Fat Albert". I also love the Royal Canadian Air Force 431 Air Demonstration Squadron "Snowbirds" and their awesome Canadair CT-144A Tutor training Jets as well as the Royal Air Force Flight Demonstration Squadron and their awesome BAE Systems Hawk T1A. training Jets! These are all my favorites! Super awesome video having these two ladies, one from the Royal Canadian Air Force and one from the United States Air Force with each other!
Meh, it's a good plane, just dated. It's not for the same purpose of fighting. It's a trainer. We have F-18s and remember the Avro Arrow, a Canadian military jet shut down by the then-terrible government that could've been a very popular iconic military fighter.
Pretty cool, especially at Abbotsford where I attended airshows in the 60's 70's 80's and 90's. Saw both teams fly several times including in 1967 when the Snowbirds were originally the Centennaires as it was Canada's Centennial. Pierre Trudeau was there, it was cool!!

So I assume you say the same thing about the DC-3's, B-52s, and more old planes still flying? Age doesn't mean shit, it's how they're maintained. And even the DC-3, having many accidents in its early days, is still a great plane. Also, bush planes like our own Canadian Twin Otter are still being produced, first made after WWII and still going strong.

on one hand they should stop talking about how special it is for females to be fighter pilots / aviators in general because - they - dont want it to be reported as special / they do it for a living .. its absolutely normal to them and i totally respect that well on the other hand i wont have the freedom taken away from me to point out how respectable i think it is for these ladies to succeed in this environment physically and mentally challenging for sure - they get it done ! we should consider both sides of the story and let em be what they are - badass fighter pilots AND beautiful women , wifes , mothers etc.. Royal CANADIAN Air Force... Ours have a maple leaf instead of the letters RAF in the middle, a different color scheme, the wing tips are more angular and less rounded for the Cdn ones, and our crown has red jewels, while the RAF one is single color. Your amazement is way overstated since Canada IS part of the Commonwealth of Nations. A loose political and economic group of ex-British colonies that still talk to each other and mostly keep the British crown as some sort of purely symbolic tradition, NOT a serf-like allegiance, but more like the price of admission to be in the club and get the group discounts. Show some respect to the head country, and remember the past, but zero control. At least in our case. Anyways, for a little while, the USA has become MUCH closer to the British than Canada. We are just a nice piece of the pie for them, but ONLY when they need us. BTW: This copying of wing design isn't unique. Look at Philippine vs. US wings...

on one hand they should stop talking about how special it is for females to be fighter pilots / aviators in general
because - they - dont want it to be reported as special / they do it for a living .. its absolutely normal to them and i totally respect that
well on the other hand i wont have the freedom taken away from me to point out how respectable i think it is for these ladies to succeed in this environment physically and mentally challenging for sure - they get it done !
we should consider both sides of the story and let em be what they are

Royal CANADIAN Air Force... Ours have a maple leaf instead of the letters RAF in the middle, a different color scheme, the wing tips are more angular and less rounded for the Cdn ones, and our crown has red jewels, while the RAF one is single color.
Your amazement is way overstated since Canada IS part of the Commonwealth of Nations. A loose political and economic group of ex-British colonies that still talk to each other and mostly keep the British crown as some sort of purely symbolic tradition, NOT a serf-like allegiance, but more like the price of admission to be in the club and get the group discounts. Show some respect to the head country, and remember the past, but zero control. At least in our case. Anyways, for a little while, the USA has become MUCH closer to the British than Canada. We are just a nice piece of the pie for them, but ONLY when they need us.
BTW: This copying of wing design isn't unique. Look at Philippine vs. US wings...

Flying aircraft is a man's job. Women are more suited for cooks.
It would be nice to see an all-female demonstration team. Lots of fun and laughter. Men are more serious and only need to fix airplanes when they are broken. 🙄
