I'm cheering for Seraphon here, half because they're part of the Grand Alliance of Order, and half because Disciples of Tzeentch are my faction's nemesis. Hopefully my cheering curse doesn't take hold here because Seraphon, new book! Yay!
Horrors are so strong! They are such a cool concept for an anvil. Not by stacking an already strong save, but simply by throwing Wounds and models at your enemy and objectives. At the bottom of the 3rd, I felt like it was all theirs, especially with Gnashing Jaws being stolen by Kairos and they rode that momentum. Tzeentch ultimately wins the day by a thread.

Really appreciate the extra editing. The sped up turns with the player explanation afterwards is a good combination for players like me looking to learn the armies and general tactics / tricks.

This was a really entertaining matchup. It was cool to watch these turbo caster and summoner armies face off in a close game. Also, the cosmic paint job on the Seraphon units looked amazing. Great production, guys!

Love the paint job on the Seraphon. Started my first age of sigmar army and have been painting up Kroak and a bunch of monsters. Itching for the preorder box to get here!
Plan to build a summoning sky-lizard list. Terradons and ripperdactyls have some crazy value with their chiefs. Terradons, for example, 12 CP for 5 mortal wounds on average + the bodies behind it.
Meanwhile Rippers are cheaper to summon and probably have better damage (if you bring some units to tag the enemy with blot toads).
Kinda want to bring a purple sun for a turn 1 nuke from a teleported trog vessel

First time viewer, this battle report was great but I think zooming the camera in slightly where the current action is taking place and maybe a dice cam would make this much better.
But it’s cool that this battle report is both the armies I’m thinking about getting.

The best battle reports, period. Talking about the rounds rather than watching folks roll dice is ideal and it's shocking how few follow that format.

Were you rolling for a fate point for each pink horror standard bearer during your hero phases? I tend to forget that one occassionally and with two chances each hero phase it helps alot

Maybe, but I literally have never played a game of AoS. Just started a Seraphon army and excited to try em out.
They should probably increase Kroak's cost. As things are there is literally no game reason to not bring him
The Trog bomb list is pretty nutty against a lot of matchups, but has some bad matchups as well. But yeah starbourne MW lists seem to be the strongest tournament lists if you can avoid Khorne, LRL and some others

Can kroak dispell an endless spell in the same turn that Kairos takes control of it? Both count as a dispell and you can only attempt to dispell each spell once per phase
I think you are correct here
AFAIK every player can dispell an endless spell once per phase, so both players can try to dispell the same spell in a single phase
19.3.2 says "the same player cannot attempt to dispell the same endless spell more than once per phase" even though you only get 1 dispell attempt anyway.
So that's where I got confused. I was wrong

prediction after turn 1: this ones is going to be difficult to tell but here goes nothing lol. Seraphon needs to deal with the 100 wound blob on that flank or else the rest of the demons are just going to mob onto the other two and it'll be a pretty easy win for chaos. With the amount of mortal wounds being shot around im not sure how reliable that 2+ armor save is going to help either so there isn't a lot stopping tzeentch. im giving this one to chaos only because it is a new book and the army match up doesn't seem totally in favor for the serapon.
I played Tzeentch for a while now and can honestly say that if you have 1-2 big units of horrors and you're playing a game where the objectives disappear then you'll win 9/10 games. This game was a lot closer than it should have been and that is strictly because how lucky that dice rolls were on the Serapon side (Those priorities were a massive game changer). Great game as always and would be totally down for a Lizard beatdown list vs another combat army just to see how well the new book improved it
I need someone to play Seraphon vs KO or a stormcast shooting army. Wtf do you do about it? And is there anything good beyond this type of Seraphon list? Because meh.
The local meta here is super shooting and it sucks :(
There are some other good builds in Koatls Claw and also you could run Drac Tail to have some things in the sky. If you deploy skinks as far out as they can go, and backboard Kroak, pending on battleplan he may not be able to be shot by all the 12" guns from KO, 18" are tought though. Could also run 10-15 guard with him so he survives, and then your bottom of 1 would be devistating and possible double against KO alpha

Seraphon w Kroak are ridiculous. Most other armies would not be able to keep up. The magic match up into Tzeentch was a unique situation.

Ah, back to Ridge winning all the prios against Jordan. The last few reps had been greatly concerning with the amount of prios Jordan had been winning, pretty sure that's a sign of the Apocalypse.
I think this is one of the few lists that is good going into New Seraphon, helped by an increasingly rock-paper-scissors meta. And even so, if the Seraphon didn't have that one bad hero phase (Turn 2?) could still have been very different. Still, great rep as always.

when i saw new game in season i knew it would have kroak!!! since it is the only good list in new book, but i was hoping to see troglodon too in there xD
how do you see new book without using kroak? i find every list without kroak way too poor, not doing any damage and with too high points cost
I think Starborne lists will need to have him because he is so powerful, but some Coalesced lists dont need him, as there are only a couple good spells nd the Slann can handle it
Just a casual 25 mortals the opening magic phase eh? that didn't look fun to play against at all. 22 turn 2? safe to say they broke the dinos

@SeasonofWar true, against an army that gains more models from the spells you cast to remove them its not. But against every destruction army, and a bunch of others its a re rack turn 1

@@RidgeHanna teleport then boat back. It’s something to unbind to farm. It’s often left by your opponent and with its big move you can react to tactics and block off lanes and bases with it in your opponents turn. It’s fun and creates neat/effective micro plays. The marginal gain of reroll when you have so many bonuses to cast already is not big.
@@rmulshine yeah I see that, I like the boat for the smaller plays but I have to disagree with you about cogs. Magic is so fickle and even with plus 2,3,4, you can roll 3's 4's etc and be unbound or even fail still. A reroll is so incredibly handy for an army that casts this much. As we saw in this game in turn 2 and turn 3...

Is it just me or is the music cutting out whenever cas starts speaking - not sure, but to me it was super off-putting
clicked a wrong setting when adding the music, which resulted in this weird cutting in-and-out. didn't realize it until too late sadly :(

We literally saw that for an entire like 3 seasons when it was all big dinos
The Premium game doesn't have Kroak and I'm sure there will be other Coalesced lists without him, just seems crazy to not have him in Starborne lists
GW puts Tzeentch against new Seraphon box, Tzeentch wins. Y'all put Tzeentch against Seraphon, Tzeentch wins. Not the most inspiring looks at the new Seraphon book.
Dice will be dice, it's one of the reasons we all play this game!
