Personally I've been waiting for this album from the cult for a long long time. Back to the beginning with Astburys vocals and Duffys superb, simplistic but riffs perfectly in sync with vocals and of course the spine is complete with the rhythm section. This is drum and bass at it's best. Haven't heard vocals like this since Indian women and the album is the continuation of the Love album imo... absolutely fucken outrageously fantastic 👏. I'm a happy happy happy cult fan since 1985 and its history repeating...
It has Kasabian's drummer on it too and he is just a TOP TIER drummer, he's very good at playing to a song and creating a really good groove to help tell a song's story

Such an amazing record - get out there and buy it people! Beautiful film clip too. The Cult continue to grow and change over time. Billy's playing is so unique and Ian's voice has never sounded better. Incredible!
My shoulders were covered in goosebumps not very far into the video. I think the Medusa character is so great... the tethered bird is brilliant imagery... Beautiful video.

There has been a real renaissance for The Cult from Born Into This onwards, their songwriting is stronger than ever and they seem a lot more comfortable in a creative sense. CFFC

Under The Midnight Sun is a fantastic Album, a true return to form. For me, easily their Best release since 2001's brilliant Beyond Good & Evil. Great job boys, you should be damn proud, thank you, CFFC ! 👏

Knife Through Butterfly Heart is as close to rock as we're going to get on this album and to be honest I am relieved. I was beginning to think they lost their way with the last two albums HC and Choice of Weapon. They were good enough but...hey they were still the unmistakably Cult sound! I am loving this new album! Magical and transcendental is how I describe it ❤❤
And Fernando, you can only put out the same album so many times. This Band is about being Creative & Reinventing themselves. If you only want the Hard Rock of The Cult & nothing more. Well, there is 4 Full Albums of that Sound for you to Listen to.
To my ears, "Under the Midnight Sun" is the best, most consistent album that The Cult have released since "Love". It's erudite, profound, sonically adventurous, lushly arranged and intelligent. To be honest, I never thought that I'd hear an LP of this quality and with these atmospheres from the band again. Its two predecessors "Choice of Weapon" and "Hidden City" were good, but this is outstanding. Congratulations Ian and Billy - and thank you.
Very cool video, from a very cool album! I really got back into The Cult this past year, and have been catching up on their past few albums that I missed out on. "Under the Midnight Sun" is a very deep album. (Personally I am also really liking "Born Into This", as well - a real rock album, akin to Electric).

They didn't even use their regular rhythm section for this, which is interesting. Change of producer is a good thing too.

"Under the Midnight Sun" is a very deep album. (Personally I am also really liking "Born Into This", as well - a real rock album, akin to Electric).
My favorite album from them is Electric. I liked the energy and the power sound on the Electric album.
