- Today I'm going to be reacting to the band we, The Darkness, decided to support us for the UK leg of our Permission to Land tour this year. It's Bad Nerves! I love these guys, let me tell you why!

the drummer of bad nerves was my old drum teacher and i go to see him at his music shop every now and then. super cool guy, amazing band
That guy's a beast, so I imagine his drum classes are incredible!

Yeah he used to teach the drummer in my band and the guitarist came to one of our gigs great people
When that guy plays drums, he's WORKING.

I've really enjoyed Bad Nerves since I first heard them about 6 months ago and find almost every single song of theirs to have the such consistent, fast paced energy and I love them!
Nice! My band, The Drowns are playing with them at New Cross Inn in London later this year. Glad to hear they have the Justin Hawkins seal of approval!

About time the world discovered this band. HTF was "Radio Punk" not a hit? I hear a fair bit of Jay Reatard and early White Reaper in the vocals, and the pace of delivery. Huge props to Justin for having such good taste. Would be interested to hear what he thinks of C.O.F.F.I.N. and the song "Dead Land".

@@TVindustries5000 also Death Is Forming! I saw him at Meredith Festival in Victoria Australia, maybe 2008? It was the most intense live musical experience I’ve ever had.
Saw these perform at Trees this year and hands down the best, most high energy and fun performance I saw all weekend. Loved it.
The singer definitely has all the mannerisms of Joey Ramone. I had the fortune of seeing the Ramones when some friends who were in a band called the Prisoners (from Kent) supported them at a gig in Brighton in the 80's. A fun night!
I heard a bit of a Buzzcocks vibe. Can't wait to see them supporting you, and also in a couple of week's time supporting The Struts!
This is such a great band! Wow! They are very Ramones/Strokes-esque. So good. My fella also plays guitar in a Ramones type band, here in Oz, so this warms my heart. The energy in this song is so good. I just loved this! Thanks for putting us onto them, Justin! One, Two, Three, Four!

I saw Bad Nerves last June in Basque Country it was so good! I talked a bit with them and they are such nice guys, so down to earth. And great musicians!
Up the bad nerves had these on my playlist since the first single release. Happy to report every song released since also has same dist/garage punk vibe. Also great songwriting

Enjoyed that 👌 great sounding band, just added a load of their stuff to my playlist for work next week! Definitely have a strong strokes vibe to them, which is great as like the Darkness, reminds me of going to festivals in the early/mid 2000s when guitar bands of different genres ruled the airwaves!!
Always a metal head at heart however the strokes always stuck out and had the appeal of the masses

Yes! Love these guys. Have had their album on repeat most of 2022 and had the pleasure of seeing Bad Nerves at 2000 trees this year and they were fantastic!
Baby Drummer, Electric 88, Palace all on repeat on my iphone turned up loud... The studio video for Baby Drummer is good too :guitar string breaking during the video, great energy great sound, great band

When I visited England in 1993, my friend and I wanted to see music, so we called the nearest club, they promised "Keltic rock", and it was 4 Irish guys who looked and sounded like the Ramones. Bad Nerves don't sound quite like Ramones, so good for them and thanks Justin for sharing.

Also lately have been listening to some older band / songs again which I knew from Snowboard- / Skateboardvideos, like e.g. Wolfmother.

I like that top, it reminds me of that green crossover thing Captain Kirk sometimes wore...except you don't need the fabled Shatner man-girdle.

Hi Justin. I am subscribed to your channel, and always enjoy your videos. I'd be interested in in a video you might one day do about vocal health and stamina. ive been singing and playing guitar since I was abut 15 years old, but now im older and still working 2 or 3 nights per week and I'd love an insight into how touring singers maintain vocal stamina over long periods of time. When I get a cold I cant even speak, never mind sing, so Im curious how you guys get through it.

That t shirt looks Japanese inspired, like Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo's Comme de Garcons, but also Stella McCartney. Love how raw that band sounds.

The way you explain what you love about this song and repeating the (why-e-eye) part... That's Marked Men/ Radioactivity worship which I adore. And they hone into so much more than just that.. I see people in the comments with Jay Reatard.. totally agree. Since I first heard a single on Bandcamp I matched their energy with The Hives and look at em now. I imagine their record collection looks a lot like mine.. and that's why I've always been a big fan and proud as hell for the traction they have gained.

@@SuziQ. Yeah the Insta ones are scams, never go for those. You just have to hope real hard that you'll find a reasonably priced resale, but that's next to impossible these days unfortunately.
Sometimes people will sell tickets last minute if they can't go anymore so usually those are the ones with the most reasonable pricing.

Justin, how about some J-rock? I recently got obsessed with this Japanese band, Man With a Mission: they wear wolf masks and play very energetic music both in Japanese and English (with quite good pronunciation, too), making also soundtracks for various animated series. I suggest "My Hero" and "Raise your Flag" as first listens!
