Minor point of correction: the reason Piers doesn't Dynamax his pokemon isn't because he doesn't believe in the idea, it's because he just can't actually perform it. Spikemuth doesn't have a Power Spot like the other Gyms in Galar, so his Pokemon literally can't use the energy to Dynamax at all, unlike the other leaders. 30:50 With the Leek and Focus Energy, Farfetch'd is Guaranteed to land critical hits. The Leek alone makes it a coin flip, so teaching it any special move / very weak physical move and going up against something weak is probably the best bet
There's a static impidimp encounter at the beginning of those woods if you just press A on the ones you see just out of bounds on the right. The Wild Area Duraludon is way more consistent/easy to get (since it's a strong overworld spawn that's almost always there); if you don't find the 1% encounter on your first pass through on that snowy route, it's not worth wasting time hunting for it.
My own challenge was doing the Pokedex for these games. 70 in-game hours spent to get it. So very much props to you for already beating the game and making challenges for it!

I think 16 hours is longer than any other games story if you think about it...usually Pokémon games are around 10 hours unless you take your time and talk to every npc and do every battle..
It's Shio I think we may have a different view of long story. A game like platinum can be 30 hours if you explore a lot outside of the main story, grind, and catch more Pokémon. If you go straight forward with the story, no way it goes more than 10-12 hours.
Your comment about Nessa's gym reminds me of when I beat it by weakening her Arrokuda, using my Corvisquire's Whirlwind because I was in a pinch, and then killing her Drednaw. She then sent out her "last" Pokemon (the half-dead Arrokuda) and she actually gave the whole spiel about "alright this is it, my ace pokemon, etc." I thought that was kinda funny
Me and my brother did it with a end time of around 27 hours in game time but then again we didn't hard focus it until later. Great video keep up the great work.
i tried to speed-run this game and it took me just over 24 hours. Yeah, you have to fight most trainers or else you get wrecked by the next big battle.
TLDR: Always use Master Ball on shiny raid pokemon UNLESS it is non-event AND the host is YOU. Master Ball is best saved for a guest max raid battle against a shiny! This applies for non-event pokemon. When you battle a dynamax pokemon that YOU initiate, as in you go to the den, you start the raid, so you're the host, YOU have a guaranteed catch at the end. But any guests that join you from the internet have ONE chance, and it is not guaranteed! NOTE: exception apply for event raids see below I saw a Gigantamax Duraladon on the Y-Comm and i joined it... It was shiny! Maybe someone out there knows the exact catch calculations, but I don't, and I don't need to. I have one chance to catch this thing and therefore I will settle for nothing less than a 100% chance of success! (Anyway, while I'm commenting, I like your videos, good job!) Clarifications: -If you're battling an event raid (for example, in february 2020 that could be Gigantamax Toxtricity), you don't have guaranteed odds, even if you are the host of the raid. -Some people have found a technique to easily find shiny pokemon in raids. Using this technique, you have as many attempts as you want to catch a shiny. But, if you're just joining a random raid on the Y-Comm with a person you don't know, then it's highly unlikely you will get a second chance. Use your Master Ball! If you want more information on this uh, r/shinyraids on reddit I guess.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but at 29:30, you didn't need a Poké Doll to flee there, as Ghost-types can run from battle guaranteed no matter what. (Ghost-types can't be trapped by things like Mean Look or Shadow Tag either.)
First Werster blazed through so fast he was uploading post-game footage before I even saw main game footage or streams, and now something I'd expect a few years from now has come out in a few days. What are these speedrunning madmen even made of?!
then they wonder why they hate the games lol they wait a year for the new game to come out to then rush trough it instead of slowly exploring all the hidden things in the game and enjoying every part of it, considering how easy these games are its very easy to speedrun it lol
That's longer than any other pokemon game if you're skipping side content, which is pretty obvious you've done here if you beat it in 15 hours. With a pretty casual playstyle, I'd say most pokemon games occupy me for around 20 hours. With that same playstyle, this one took me 50 to beat. It's not harder, but the Wild Area raids occupied me for a good 15-ish hours and were fun to play around with. Even ignoring wild area the game still took me like 35 casually hours though
@@x54xHantamachine cause you're slow as molasses. I talked to every NPC and filled out my Pokedex everytime I saw something I didn't have and the entire game only took me 9 hours to beat. With the battle tower in post game only taking another hour and a half or so. This game has incredibly shallow pacing that only looks longer on the surface due to the Wild Area, but going route to route its incredibly small. Most towns/cities only have 2 or 3 buildings you can enter, most of the routes are super short with maybe 3 trainers on them
@@Mr.Japlay the story and postgame which is what "beating the game" means. I'm near 300 in Pokedex completion but it doesnt really matter for me considering I have a whole living national dex sitting in Pokemon Bank
Tim Etters 9 seems a bit long especially for everything you claim to have done. The reason I finished it in 15 hours was I spent about 3 hours in the wild area before the first gym and therefore had massively overleveled Pokémon the rest of the game. I only finished with 56 in my Pokédex, so 300 in 6 hours less seems a bit excessive

i mean the title should be HOW EASILY CAN YOU CATCH EVERY "NEW" POKEMON IN SWORD/SHIELD? or HOW EASILY CAN YOU CATCH " SOME OF THE" POKEMON IN SWORD/SHIELD? there are over 200 pokemon that wont be caught during this video
Yea, tbh I was kind of looking forward to him doing all 400. I don't really care if he's just going to be catching the new ones. I think the 400 could still be possible in 24 hours if you're not going for a living dex. My main issue with doing it myself is just getting the version exclusives, but with 2 games it should be easy.

First game where I’m actually trying to complete the Pokédex, of course not as fast as you though. Great vid as always!
wow same, I just want a shiny scorbunny
21:35 every time I see Duraludon I just think about this specific clip lmfao
30:50 With the Leek and Focus Energy, Farfetch'd is Guaranteed to land critical hits. The Leek alone makes it a coin flip, so teaching it any special move / very weak physical move and going up against something weak is probably the best bet

Me who battles post game Metapod: Years of academy training, wasted
You and MahDryBread are my favorite Pokémon challenge content creators
There's a static impidimp encounter at the beginning of those woods if you just press A on the ones you see just out of bounds on the right.
The Wild Area Duraludon is way more consistent/easy to get (since it's a strong overworld spawn that's almost always there); if you don't find the 1% encounter on your first pass through on that snowy route, it's not worth wasting time hunting for it.
Stonjourner and Eiscue: cry together for being forgotten
.o.
If you watch all the way through he catches them
Will Bay timestamp?
Fhirst Place Eiscue is at 28:20 and Stonjourner at 30:29
I’ve been waiting for this since I heard sword and shield were a thing. Good video!!
Finally, with 120 hours in the game, I’ve beaten Shield and can watch this video 😍
My own challenge was doing the Pokedex for these games. 70 in-game hours spent to get it.
So very much props to you for already beating the game and making challenges for it!
If this game is extremely long then I'm the king of england

Damn, I was waiting for the MDB premiere when this popped up. 😂
I’ve never watched a video for 33 minutes straight so good

22:46 "she challenges us to one of the least difficult matches of the game" that milotic was the only pokemon that ever made me struggle while i played the game

It was a pushover. Especially when a steel type can take out two. A ground type can take out another two and mitotic isn't that difficult.

Can’t wait for professor oak challenge 😂
Fun tip: The Wild Lands will have the same weather throughout the whole map on the first of every month.
February SnowStorm, March Overcast, April Sandstorm, May Normal, June Fog, July Intense Sun, October Raining, November Thunderstorm, December Snowing.
Thanks
“The longest story of the series”
Bruh it’s 16 hours long
I think 16 hours is longer than any other games story if you think about it...usually Pokémon games are around 10 hours unless you take your time and talk to every npc and do every battle..
Still longer than Sonic Forces and EA Battlefront 2’s campaign, combined.
I'm pretty sure diamond/pearl are longer than this one
Longest Story = No plot at all
It's Shio I think we may have a different view of long story.
20:34 why is there a Pikachu in that Cramorant's mouth??? What??
Edit: nvm it has a weird ass ability
Me and my brother did it with a end time of around 27 hours in game time but then again we didn't hard focus it until later. Great video keep up the great work.
I just finished my dex last night, and it feels amazing.
The Focus Energy/Leek strat actually leaves you with a 100% crit chance
"24 hours"
Me, 50 hours in with 100 mona: '_'
Professor Oak Challenge is gonna be HELL. The Wild Area is MASSIVE, it's basically Pokemon: Breath of the Wild. Good luck man :^)
Damn you already did that in SwSh? Impressive
szkonk not really since there is only 400 mons
@@shanekenny9082 400 in the game though. Compared to any other game aside Sun and Moon, 400 that you can catch in a single game is a lot
@@atheon4075 Considering how A LOT are in the Wild area compared to the other games, the amount doesn't really matter.

@@shanekenny9082 he didnt even catch 400. He caught the pokemon new to gen 8. Not even counting galarian forms.
I have watched 5 videos with this being the sixth and I have found them all entertaining enough that I will subscribe with notifications on. 😁
When you were talking about bede I thought you were going to say "we meet up with the trainer we met at the ceremony our grandma"
Why is this video a better plot summary than 90% of the reviews for this game
21:39 - You can just feel the pain...
Wow.... he actually did it so quick.... you sir recieved a well deserved like.
i tried to speed-run this game and it took me just over 24 hours.
NOTE: exception apply for event raids see below
I saw a Gigantamax Duraladon on the Y-Comm and i joined it... It was shiny! Maybe someone out there knows the exact catch calculations, but I don't, and I don't need to. I have one chance to catch this thing and therefore I will settle for nothing less than a 100% chance of success!
(Anyway, while I'm commenting, I like your videos, good job!)
Clarifications:
-If you're battling an event raid (for example, in february 2020 that could be Gigantamax Toxtricity), you don't have guaranteed odds, even if you are the host of the raid.
The entire video I thought you were gonna do the whole dex lol
yeah i feel lied to when it said every pokemon in sword/shield its more like 40% of the pokemon in the 2 games
I kinda thought that too
@@KoKo-ry1xs only new galar pokemon, does not catch pokemon with galar forms
MegaKBang it's how he's done it for every catch em all, lol. He even says "Catch every *new* Pokémon added to Sword and Shield".
Chandler Hupp he titled it “every Pokémon” though, he clickbaited and it’s stupid
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but at 29:30, you didn't need a Poké Doll to flee there, as Ghost-types can run from battle guaranteed no matter what. (Ghost-types can't be trapped by things like Mean Look or Shadow Tag either.)
Dude John just pulled out a new challenge within half a month of release.
Bruh I thought you meant all 400 I was like “I’ll pray for you at your funeral” 💀😂

Just wait for Professor Oak's challenge. In that one he'd have to catch all 400.
those fossils are nasty. great vid!
“Longest story line of any Pokémon game”
I finished mainstory and the postgame in 15 hours
Most towns/cities only have 2 or 3 buildings you can enter, most of the routes are super short with maybe 3 trainers on them
@@PewterCityGymLeaderBrock So you filled the pokedex and played through the story and post game?? I think you may have lied.
I can’t believe you actually made this video so quickly
These vids inspired me to actually complete the Pokédex with my friend this gen, and we finished it on Tuesday after getting the game Friday. Yikes flskfmsn

i mean the title should be HOW EASILY CAN YOU CATCH EVERY "NEW" POKEMON IN SWORD/SHIELD? or HOW EASILY CAN YOU CATCH " SOME OF THE" POKEMON IN SWORD/SHIELD?
there are over 200 pokemon that wont be caught during this video
people wouldn't click on that
i would have liked the galarian forms to be included at least
In that case I completed it quicker than him caught 250 in 18 hours
Yea, tbh I was kind of looking forward to him doing all 400. I don't really care if he's just going to be catching the new ones. I think the 400 could still be possible in 24 hours if you're not going for a living dex. My main issue with doing it myself is just getting the version exclusives, but with 2 games it should be easy.
or just read the thumbnail........
Man i was trying to avoid any kind of spoilers till i complete the game but I'm dying to see this video
