Installing the "Impossible" Ceiling Fan

  • This is a bit of a different style of video I decided to make about the story behind the Quoizel hugger ceiling fan with lights, and the Abigail Adams blue floral pattern. The reason why I am calling this the impossible ceiling fan is because I believe that this is one of the hardest to install out of any I have ever dealt with due to the many design flaws and requirement of needing more than one person. Not sure if I will do this for future restoration videos, let me know what you guys think. Overall, I just wish that I recorded more of the installation/uninstallation, but besides that this was pretty fun to work on.
    This fan is also extremely rare and the only one that I know of to exist in this specific variation. This was recorded on New Year's Eve 2023, and the fan has since been traded to ‪@ceilingfanman9662‬ who is also in the video. Even though this was a total pain to deal with, I'm glad I did it and it also makes for a fun story.

    It reminds me of the Rockport hugger that used to be in my old house in the dining room before it got replaced by some unknown quorum because we also couldn’t turn it on high-speed, but not for the same reason, but because it was too wobbly, and the house was so old that my parents feel that it would fall and the same thing with a generic fan up in the master bedroom where we could really only have it on low without it getting so wobbly that it starts creaking and sounding like it’s gonna fall😮😂

    Honestly such a cool fan. When it gets a new flywheel it should work like new!

      It has a new flywheel now, Matt fixed everything up around a month after we recorded this

    I don't think this fan had lightbulbs in the uplight. I love this fan, though.

      It did, but someone messed with the wiring inside the switch housing so the uplight did not get power

    The flywheel could be cheesed together if you mount a metal ring around the blade mounting.
    Or just will need a replacement reguardless

    I think I took a few of the screenshots here. Some of them have circulated in the fan community.

    Beautiful fan. It's a shame the flywheel is so messed up. Are those blades really heavy, and that's why it's warped?

    • @CeilingFanRescue
      @CeilingFanRescue  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The blades are a little on the heavy side but nothing too crazy, I think it drooped over time because of the type of rubber they used getting too flexible
