    Pretty nerdy stuff. Very interesting, really. Another side of cycling, which is nothing for me. This again proves why cycling is so versatile: everyone can have it the way he wants it - competitive, fixed gear, touring, bike packing etc...
    Thanks for showing these different sides.

  • @leobarrett1544
    @leobarrett1544 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did aerocoach consider the impact of holding that aero position on the power transfer efficiency towards the latter parts of a 24hr ride? Have no doubt Chris could hold that position for 24 hours but I’d be interested to understand how much power deficiency he sacrifices to hold that position during major fatigue? Fine balance between aero efficiency and power transfer :)

    • @ryanspivey2453
      @ryanspivey2453 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe you missed it but he actually mentioned this when Chris expressed concern over compressing his chest/airflow too much. I think they made mention of this in terms of helmet selection as well. I'm guessing, like any of us would, Chris will need to have a "1-hour" fit and a "24-hour" fit as the demands for each are so different.

    • @ChrisHallRides
      @ChrisHallRides 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s very very minor tweaks to my existing 24 hour position. I’ve raced in it for a long time now and it’s sustainable. Admittedly not everyone can sustain these kind of positions too. I’m very lucky that I am overly flexible so that helps

      not that marginal when lower head gains 15 freakin watts! just amazing for sure.

    • @johnnydoe66
      @johnnydoe66 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lukas-zd3sn I should have posted my comment a bit differently. Marginal tweaks make for some significant gains, but interesting none the less. It still amazing how much you gain by what would seem minor position changes.

    This is why Americans will never again amount to anything in cycling. Nothing even remotely like this is even possible here.

    • @rgrissomky
      @rgrissomky 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Based on what? There are excellent coaches and aero testing available in the US!

    • @TinkXFD
      @TinkXFD 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      rgrissomky Based on the fact that those things are only available to the wealthy elite. The common people have no access to it.

    • @rgrissomky
      @rgrissomky 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am a USAC coach and my clients are not wealthy and not all of my athletes are elite. What do you consider to be too expensive? The average USAC coach charges 125.00 per month for coaching services. I also consult with aerodynamicists and I can tell you that it's not expensive. We have new tech on the horizon that will let cyclists test their own CDA in real time. Just like we can with power meters. Also when you say "Americans will never again amount to anything in cycling" I have to ask, are you an American, who races?
