I recocognize Tim Smith from the American Battlefield Trust TH-cam channel. He is extremely knowledgeable especially regarding the civilian experience during the battle at Gettysburg. Looking forward to this discussion.
JD, massive fan of your channel and all things Civil War. Best regards to Erik, his museum is a real treasure and definitely a MUST SEE for anyone in the area. you don't know how much knowledge you spread around the world. So many little stories that you can't find in any history book. Thank you to you and to all who put so much effort into guiding us across the battlefields, at least in our minds. By the way: Pfeffer, a German name, is pronounced something like FINGER, at the beginning! Thank you thank you thank you and please keep up the good work. Happy Independence Day! By the way, I would be very happy about a little story by Wilmer Mclean. The grocer who actually wrote his own little American history story. Tina; Braunschweig Lower Saxony Germany
Yes, they are missing the first f in Pfeffer (pepper). It would be better if they forgot the P to be honest. Just say Feffer. Close enough. Edit: on the old map (18:50) it says "Pfeifer" which is a different name. It means "piper". The mapmakers most likely mixed it up.
Thanks for the uploads JD, I appreciate you content especially from Gettysburg and when you include Erik! I would like one day to break bread with both of you and talk history (especially Gettysburg) over a good dinner from Dobbins House Inn. Actually would like to eat with Jim Hessler, Matt Callery(s\already did that) Tim Smith , Gary Adelman and Kris and all battlefield guides and of course Chris Mallory! If I ever win the lottery I will make it happen!
Erik Dorr’s family the History of your Family the Pfeffer’s at Gettysburg is totally Amazing. ❤️💯👊👍
Great show! JD and Erik always do a great job, but it nice to finally be able to hear Mr. Smith.
Enjoy your commentary and your family stories

Bummer of how the family “lost” their farm. Positive take from that is now there is a rocking museum for people to see.
