Dear Mister Luening, With gastric problems since 1990, I've begun drinking fruit juice in the morning, tea and bread, butter, yogurt, Sometimes " small nuernbergers ," delicious.! Not much meat at noon or evenings. Meat and fish, at least half of the time, cooked in some water. And, at the same age of yours, Ich fuehle mich topfit.!!

Hello. Im planning a trip to Scotland and I was wondering what's the best way to travel to Islay? I found it a bit difficult to find a lot of alternatives on the internet so if anyone has any insight I'd be happy to hear.
I went earlier this month. You can fly up to Glasgow then get a hire car to Kennacraig. At Kennacraig you can catch a ferry, which has to be booked on the calmac (Caledonian macbrayne) website. Book a ticket for each person, and the car. There is a small airport on islay and there are some flights there from Glasgow, but be aware that the taxi services on the island are VERY busy and really need to be booked in advance, and the bus doesn't go very often.

For the ferry, every passenger needs a ticket, and the car also needs it's own car ticket booked in advance, and I'd advise arriving 30m-60m before the ferry actually departs. The ferry journey is a couple of hours and will take you to either of Islay's ports - Port Ellen or Port Askaig depending on where you booked your tickets to. The drive between the two ports is only 30 minutes, so travelling to either port is fine.
