    I think this is going to be a fun one for you all. There really isn't a lot of content on how to make an ATC function. I plan to follow my usual DIY "route" and put together all the necessary components necessary to auto tool change using solenoid valves, my own cooling method, standard VFD, and what it takes for control software to invoke the tool changes. Stay tuned for upcoming videos.

    I just picked up this same model from them in Weiterstadt. Awesome guys with a great company. Unfortunately I found your channel right after finished building a control cabinet, but I'm really looking forward to your other videos! PS, my first comment!

    If they ever make a smaller version say Sub 1000W I volunteer to test it.

    Absolutely awesome 😎 Really looking forward to this series.
    I have an X30 ATC myself, but since I have more than 100 tools/tool holders, I refrained from changing the tools automatically, because a magazine that size wouldn't fit the space around my mill. Changing tools manually within a few seconds with the ATC is enough for me.
    Nevertheless, I am keen to see how you are going to tackle this. Suscribed and notification bell is on..👍

    I'd be scared to use this Chinese VFD to drive such an expensive spindle. I actually had a very similar looking VFD explode and I got myself Delta MS300 which is only like 30% more expensive, but has so many more safety features and better settings management, documentation and software suite. Now I'm not scared to change some settings, because it has loads of safety features and sensors built-in.

    • @PatrickHoodDaniel

      Don't worry, it's going on my scope first to make sure the power is nice and clean! I will probably still put it on a more expensive one though. As long as I am not overloading the winding gauge, I'll be good.

    • @digitalghosts4599
      @digitalghosts4599 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PatrickHoodDaniel the way the failure occured was that the spindle was running at very low RPM which is inefficient and a big resistor inside of the VFD literally exploded. Fortunately the spindle took no damage, but this cheap huanyang or whatever it's called VFD seems to have no overload protection!

      Thank you for your comment. It's true that the Spinogy Spindle comes with a higher price tag compared to some other options on the market. However, it's important to note that this spindle is engineered and manufactured in Germany, adhering to stringent quality standards that contribute to its superior performance, durability, and precision. Also, this spindle will provide a reliable and efficient solution for a wide array of materials. I am also making this series for anyone wanting to understand ATC and how to make it function no matter what spndle they are using.

      It's not as expensive as others and you get a ton of perks for the price, like tool sensors as standard and no need for constant sealing air!

    you over-sold it, it is just a regular spindle with pneumatic actuators and .. I don't know is it cat-20? or cat-30? tool holder. 30 year old technology. If it is from Germany they should be selling magnetic spindles with no friction and interferometric distance sensors, not this chinasaurish technology. I am not impressed.

      Exactly, what use is a 30.000 RPM capable spindle that uses ISO-20? For high speeds (10-15K> RPM) only HSK tool holders suffice, anything else is just dumb.

    but chinese ATC spindles made to the same level of quality and cost less (being mass produced)
    Spinogy 2.2kW cost about 4K euro - chinese 2.2kW is about 1.5K euro. same precision, same runout, same tool mount. the only downside is it is not made by white europeans.
    so is 2.5K euro an acceptable price to please a little chauvinist inside our hearts ? )

    • @PatrickHoodDaniel
      @PatrickHoodDaniel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can't attest to the quality of Chinese ATC spindles, but German spindles are known to be exceptional. There are those which will purchase because of price, but not all.
