Other than the color, why does the black louvered cap have grooves on the side when the white cap doesn’t?

Both caps have that "groove" all around the outside of the cap, although this may be more visible in the video on the black version simply because of the color. This groove is a recessed caulk edge that helps to guide the caulking gun around the cap and assists in a clean caulking application
