I saw the waco doc on netflix, and have been listening to what this guy has to say for a bit. He is quickly becoming a personal hero of mine.

Yeah too bad the idiots in charge of him fucked up and didn’t let him finish the job at Waco. Quite sad really. But he was great. He took the ideas of crisis negotiation with Carl Rogers psychotherapy theories from Jack cambria of nypd and then developed it at fbi and trained others across the ocean in Uk and Europe
Uk and Europe then further adapted and refined their strategies more

It’s truly a shame this has so few views. His book is great. Everyone should read it.

I am going to order this book. He’s so interesting. Too bad the entire world doesn’t subscribe to these concepts.

@Ethan Smyke yes we would not see the police brutality we have if we used active listening skills

Patti Hilton his superiors are likely the reason he failed. Had he not been forcibly taken off 25 days into the siege, Noesner probably would have succeeded.

@Jacob Dean They are taught to respond, not "react". It's a shame this happened at all. It easily could have been averted. I wish they all would have worked longer WITH Gary. I feel so badly for all these families.

Well hes speaking about law enforcement practices in the past, and how negotiations and de-escalation are a better way to handle these situations. All law enforcement should be more like gary.
