I'm a septuagenarian woman on a fixed income, which means I'm not spending big on the latest and greatest DJI drones. My two drones are a Fimi Mini V2 and a Hubsan Zino Mini Pro, both of which I bought on ebay at nice discounts. I'm so glad I found your channel. You're a great source of information!
Thank you. If you have any questions let me know. Fimi seems to have dialed in the X8 Mini V2 camera (Update 2209A) but have a few other glitches to consider. But its a great little camera for now. Hubsan ~~~ thats a Love/Hate relationship, but the camera is pretty good when the horizon stays level.
@@GorillamansGarage I do have one quick question. Do you know whether the Exo Mini Pro batteries will fit and work with the Hubsan Zino Mini Pro? Thank you.
Well done! Your phone is behaving better than my Samsung 10. Must be over taxing my phone with useless apps running in the back round. I flew HZMP today and basically confirmed what you just posted
I shot this twice... seems every flight I learn something new. 😀 It is a very basic program from years gone by (H216a). The Fimi program is a step up but nothing compares to the Parrot :Flight Plan" program.👍
@@GorillamansGarage Agreed the Parrot product line has been a good one since the beginning. That is why the US government is funding some of the research. I think the USA gov is hedging their bets and want Parrot to be a major player because of their HW and SW technologies.
Thank you for taking the time to make the video. It would be nice if you didn't have to start up the drone to save the mission. I like that the Hubsan Waypoint missions can have a much longer range than the Fimi X8SE 2020. Have a great weekend.
Very nice tutorial on Waypoints for HZMP. It's actually the best one I've seen thus far for the HZMP....very thorough and detailed. Great job. Hubsan should use this video as their tutorial since they don't seem to have any documentation of Waypoints AFAIK. From what I can recall you are the first reviewer that I've seen who shows you how you can create and save multiple missions. Kudos for that and generally just for the thoroughness of it. I give it 4.5 ✈'s out of 5. 😉 My wish list for the HZMP Waypoint software is: - Allow user to set a height on each POI (default to 0m). This will ensure that the camera stays focused on the thing you are trying to film rather than just pointing in the general direction of the POI. Being able to change the camera angle during a mission is nice but what if you go out of signal range during the mission. I'm jussayin... - Scrap the 5000m limitation. I'm presuming that the Waypoints are uploaded to the drone and it doesn't really need a constant connection to the drone to fly the mission. - I'd like to have the capability to tell the drone to circle a POI as part of a mission with having to draw every waypoint to give me a circle around something...and I may want to circle something multiple times...just give it a radius around the POI, number of circles you want it to do and then have the drone fly that automatically. - Also it's important that the Mission planning software provide a reasonably accurate estimates for the flight time of a mission so that you can make sure you aren't creating a mission that will take 1hr to fly. Yes the drone should RTH once it realizes the battery is getting low but you still want to have a rough idea of how long the mission will take so that you can shorten if necessary. It seems Hubsan uses a random number generator to estimate the duration of their missions. One note I would make to viewers who want to use Waypoints is: - I'm not sure if Hubsan's waypoints work the same as Parrot's Mission planning but one thing you have to be careful about with Missions is that once you hit submit the drone will slowly climb to the target height WHILE traveling to the first waypoint...it does NOT immediately rise to altitude of the 1st waypoint and then start traveling to that first waypoint (ala how RTH works). So the danger here is that you might not clear tall obstacles that are between your drone and the that first waypoint. It's probably best to just fly the drone up to the height of the first waypoint unless you have a wide opens space between you and the first waypoint. - Also I would recommend that you stay in the mission planning menus at all times while flying the mission because you need to be able to quickly hit the pause or cancel button if something is going wrong with the mission (e.g., you accidently set the a waypoint to low). Some waypoint mission planning software will allow you exit the Mission Planning function once you've submitted the mission...although those that do typically have a way of pausing or cancelling the mission without having to navigate back to/thru menus (e.g., hit the sticks or hit RTH button once, etc.). If Hubsan does allow you navigate outside of the Mission planning menus while the Mini is flying the mission it would be interesting to see if hitting the RTH will pause/cancel the mission. Always good to know where your fail safes are at all time. Mission are great (especially if they allow to continue even when the signal is lost) but you do have to dot your I's and cross your T's and you have to have faith in the mission planning software.
@@GorillamansGarage Definitely not comparable to Parrot's Flight plan but as you say it will do. My post above has some wish list feature for their product. Maybe Hubsan will see it and take notice of it.
