On why seignorage coins fail: If a holder sells their coin (for whatever reason), wouldn't all component coins lose value? If I sell basis cash for another token, it loses value, and so do the shares, and so do the bonds. The bonds will pay off only if others buy back into basis. But if a coin is losing, why would I continue investing via the bonds? It seems like there is a strong supply mechanism to stem price increasing above 1, but the mechanism to support prices below 1 is weak.
It does sound like the below-parity side is based on hope, given that the coin has no fundamentals except the community or forecasts of future investor recruitment.

Isn’t DAI an algorithmic stable coin? It uses smart contracts to incentivize arbitrage. It’s been holding well for a relatively long time now.
It's a collateralized coin. Other types of stablecoins are liabilities against the issuer whereas DAI is an asset to the issuer that investors borrow. We borrow them with the promise of returning them and we lock up our crypto assets as collateral.

A stable coin can only work if it has something it can purchase not just other cryptos
I use USDT more often, so it doesn't matter.
Who else is here because of the recent UST depeg?
Frax which iron as based on still is pegged. Luna which also uses seignorage is still pegged. Tomb which uses the basis cash system is still pegged, though I think there are better projects that use the basis system.
