The cockups and mistakes were manifest starting with no airborne early warning through to turning off the ships radar to send a message and miss an incoming Super Etendard with Exocet attack during a heightened alert. No ship close in anti-missile system, other than Seawolf that was only installed on a couple of ships, inability to locate and the sink the Argentine aircraft carrier, etc. The Falklands were recovered in spite of the RN short comings and in large part to US support.

We need to invest a lot more in our navy and armed forces in general, another 2 to 6 aircraft carriers would be helpful and 20 destroyers/ 20 cruisers ,merchant navy needs to get bigger to supply our forces we need to bring our reserves upto 200k to 500k at least
