Just started playing this game last month and I've been completely blown away by how fun and addicting it is. And I've definitely learned a lot from Baalor! Glad to see someone who is chill while playing a game. It's tiring watching so many streamers scream and swear like children, so finding this channel has been a huge breath of fresh air. Loving the Dad jokes too!
Timestamps for when Baalor picks up the cards and relic in the thumbnail (Genetic Algorithm x4 and Calipers): Calipers: (7:35) (Floor 7 Elite) Genetic Algorithm #1: (14:20) (Floor 12 Elite) Genetic Algorithm #2: (17:04) (Floor 14 Elite) Genetic Algorithm #3: (55:24) (Floor 35 Combat) Genetic Algorithm #4: (1:24:15) (Act 4 Shop - Dolly's Mirror) I think making this much block must be genetic! (wasn't expecting there to actually be four of the things, what an incredible run!)
I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm gonna predict that by that point the run was so secure that he no longer cared about anything except making the number as big as possible.
After watching that part I was partly right. The run was already pretty out of control, but that specific part was still risky. I definitely would have just played the algo.
that hurt seeing him fret over sundering the wrong one (around 1:04:30) considering he in fact had not. That was a new dagger that would've attacked for like 8 damage
The "Did you know that I play games other than Slay the Spire" just feels nicer. The new ad didn't really feel like a Baalorlord ad, instead it felt like a car ad that you'd see on TV. I love Baalorlord videos cause of that very specific feeling, they're very down to earth and most certainly humorous But I'm sure I would have gotten used to it in a few days or weeks, probably
As a physicist listening to a chemist say chemistry is about learning the fundamental rules of the universe 😅 (I kid, loving the defect streaking, keep it up!)
When you fight the Gremlin Nob, when would you use a block or a skill over an attack? I recently got into this game and I'm finding it so much more fun than the one attempt I did in the past.
As a fellow chemistry graduate I know what you mean, I’m a lab manager but don’t really do any chemistry 😁 my old man recommendation is do a degree that’s vocational, practically more useful
I wonder if Echo Form + Genetic Algorithm + Exhume (with Prismatic Shard) would allow for infinite scaling in a single fight. Play Echo, Echo GA, then Echo Exhume to get back GA and Exhume, repeat.
Still the option taken on most runs. Rare occasions make it less good due to Act 1 pathing options. In this case the risk of a low roll boss swap plus forced early elite.
Can someone explain to me the logic behind choosing a card (as a permanent addition to your deck) because you have a certain potion (as a temporary boost)? I don't understand it.
The run is not infinitely long and it has concrete threats, if you are not getting past slimbo it does not matter how perfect your deck is. And card-potion synergy can be important in getting past a boss.
Short term decision making targeted towards immediate upcoming threats is a reasonable way to approach spire and likely explains at least some of what you're finding odd.
Solving immediate upcoming problems is extremely important in A20 spire. For example on Ironclad if you have a flex potion you may want to pick up a pummel or twin strike to get thru an elite that you otherwise couldn’t beat to get that extra relic and higher rare chance and start snowballing. The cards are still decent by themselves, but the potion can make them immediately run changing.

Check out jorbs too, very chill watching.

could have been 5 o_O
1:04:33 not playing the algorithm and risking taking 34 so he could possibly double it later is a level of greed I thought only possible in the bible

What does a rooster say to wake up the defect? Ca-claw!
Old Ad is back. I'm not surprised, given the huge negative response. I did think the new one was good though.
Yeah, I liked it, it was mellowly "a lot", hehe. Some people just can't handle strong choices.
I mean, I assumed it was for Black Friday and that's why it's back to the old one
Yeah, it's not shocking in the slightest. People love to complain, it should be an Olympic Sport.
@@TobeyFairre7861 arent you complaining too tho
@@sergiobarros_ yes because people love to complain. No contradiction

That echo did not want him to succeed
I wish I would’ve focused more on science in school. Physics seems very interesting to me as does chemistry
the new ad was freaky af glad that jumpscare is gone
betterhelp from hell

You're dead wrong... the new advert is a step in the right direction.
The new advert felt like a scam/cult to be honest, and I'm so glad the old one is back

The xkcd comic...
Thoughts on a boss relic that gives 2 or 3 chosen upgrades?
Love a good turtle deck!

2 dad jokes in the first 10 seconds?? Heck yeah!!
1:25:47 I reject your spire shield, and substitute my own...
Was really hoping this would be a spoon build

That is a wacky thumbnail, can't wait to see this one go down.
What a frustrating run The draw was against you
GG, well played indeed.

Can't exhume exhume
Exhume is not exhumable?
Poor little Inserter :(
26:15 and what about elevenses?
Does anyone know what happened to boss swapping every single run on defect?
Still the option taken on most runs. Rare occasions make it less good due to Act 1 pathing options.
In this case the risk of a low roll boss swap plus forced early elite.
I think he was mostly doing that during the defect specific win streaking and is now back to normal (whatever seems best)
Wait I've seen this on stream before
Why do you always say two-thump instead of tuh-thump?
He's Canadian
Because there's two of them

The potion gets you a temporary combo which beats hard enemies and it makes cards that card works with more appealing
