Nice work! Good ol' trusty snake to clear a clog; one of the only downsides to a central vac system. Thank you for your time; you and family have a Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much... tried from the inlets with no luck... so I tried from the outlet that is in the bucket... got a big chunk of clogged stuff... worked like a charm after that.... thanks again
So satisfying that you got it! Funny I nearly got that at the store. I have a plumbing snake but full size. Ill try again switching between out central vac and then the other vac my husband has a shop vac. If I can still not get the clog, ill try your method Thanks!!!!😊
Identical issue, I will hopefully conquer this in the morning (since it’s about 2am) I know this video is older but I am glad I found these videos on Yt. I will post back during the day! It is either some dog bisquit pieces or wet baking soda that dried up like concrete eek!
My wife sucked a yellow rubber glove into the central vac. Stuck in the hose about 10' down. Tried to push it out with 3/4" Pex. What a nightmare, it is really jammed in there! Might need an industrial auger. If I get it out she owes me big time.
My central vac has been clogged for 2 yrs, unusable. I know what went in there. I had 2 visits from a technician and they tried to tell me I needed a new vac. It works perfect in the garage so it is either a clog which I know when and what when in that never came out or a pipe in the wall has disconnected. I'm not stupid. I have wanted to try this and was told not to. Well what choice do I have? I just ordered a 50 ft drain snake and will try it as it is a total loss. I just needed to know my idea was doable. Thank you! I will let you all know what happens!!!
@@robsgaragewoodworkin Thank you so much. The video gave me the confidence to try this even though I was told I could break the vacuum pipes somewhere behind the wall. I was more aggressive than I was over a year ago, followed the directions, and finally, COVID era items-a latex glove, mask, and plastic bag-appeared in the canister!!! Thank you. I can retire all my brooms :)
LOL! That's got to be pretty common! Try using the drain or sink snake like I did in the video. It should pull it out. You can also work backwards from the vacuum. The central vac impeller is not in the way of the hoses/pipes. Good Luck! Cheers! Rob
You can also try to hook up a shop vacuum and back suck the clog out (try for a good seal at the valve)....... Your best investment is to hire a professional installer with a track record of good reviews ----- a well installed system should not clog unless you vacuum up something silly like a suck, syringe, tea cloth, bra, pen, pencil, battery,
Thank you. I have a snake that I used for unclogging water pipes and gutters. I did exactly as you done here and voila... success! Thanks again!

Thanks, Rob. One of the three vacuum points had low suction. The snake did it!

You have more suction than I have. I have ZERO suction. I think my hose inside the wall is filled with soil. How do I get that out?
@@prairiewings3743 Try using a shop vac to suck from the vacuum port on your wall. Try various ports and try using the snake too.
Do you recommend the skinny snake one?
No I found the regular one to be better
have you ever had to get a sock out. i was cleaning under the bed took off the brush and accidnetly sucked up a sock now that one outlet will not work

Was that a mouse that jumped out near the end ? Thanks for the tips.
LOL! Just dog hair and dirt.
Don't forget to change the filter bag
I think all the new ones are bagless. This one is and so was the one at my last house.
Just got back from a customer's house, guy did this and it knocked a fitting on the pipe loose in his finished basement ceiling...
Lol! Those pipes are supposed to be glued together 😂😂😂
You probably install that fitting and don't glue it for purpose.
@@vinnitca1990 can you provide an example?
@@vinnitca1990 LOL!! I was 4 years old when that system was installed!

No problem!
My clog is in the hose, which is 12 ' long. Not sure the snake will work.

Shop vac is the easiest way
@@johnintrieri338 Depends on how bad the clog is.
