GST means goods and service tax. i take price as 4000 and gst 18%, so i am showing what will be the actual price if we exclude this gst.

There is an easy way to do this. Just use this formula: (100 * Price) / (100+GST rate). For above example, (100*4000) / (100+18) . This can be done quickly using a calculator on your phone.

You cant find out without the percentage. Either the question will provide the % or will give the actual gst amount

I@@Therealaty if you want to know actual price before gst is added so take amount for example 4000 ÷ 1.18 = 3389 this is the amount before gst is included its means 3389 is actual price and after gst it is 4000 if you dont understand ask me again
