This floor plan is superior to the new plan. It’s ability to sleep 4 is unsurpassed. Best floor plan ever built. With lithium this is a great buy.

You beat me to it! I was creating a used RV video and then got sidetracked with other projects and then the lockdown happened and I've been overly busy with work!
    I know.... excuses excuses!
My video is more generic... just comparing an average sale price for used RVs for different years... still may do it we'll see!
Love your views on devaluation vs. amount of fun and experiences you can have!
Lily is well worth the cost!
    Be seeing you!

Aloha from Maui. Been shopping for a rig to tour Florida for 6 months now. Winnebago Travato 59GL has my eye. Even at 6'2 it seems like a prefect fit for a solo traveler. Boondocking beachside is the goal. Gonna hit every boardwalk possible with my beach cruiser. Keep up the great videos, I've really enjoyed them.

Prices at an RV dealer for a used vehicle includes an abundance of overhead, which should be a consideration in the selling price comparison. Of course you can ask for any price.

EXCITING NEWS for me as I fly from north Florida to Spokane, WA this Friday, May 15 to purchase a used Pleasure Way Lexor FL 2018 year model. I am not taking delivery right away and plan to pick in next six months. Jounrey on and glad that you are not selling.

I know you are not thinking of selling but this was an interesting video and it's good to see what YOU think it would be worth. I would guess a 2019 Travato 59GL with > 45,000 miles would realistically sell for between $83-86K in a private party sale. There are a number of listings for them with only 5-7K miles and what people list them for is not what they actually sell for. (There is such a thing as depreciation in RV's!! ). The Travato seems to do a bit better because they are so popular.

I think the timing of selling is big
Great at a year to three but If you wait too many years I would think you would lose a lot
What do you think of that?
I agree if you just use for a few years and then recoup investment it is a great deal

It would be interesting to go to the NADA and Kelly Blue Book site to see what they say. Asking price is different than actual selling price. Class b definitely hold their value better than any other type of RV.

Scott- what price do you think you would pay for a used 2019-21 GL in todays market with 30k or less miles?

Great video, Scott! I’m here in Vancouver, doing lots of research as to which way to go; truck camper, travel trailer, or Class B van. For the Class B, it’s a toss up between the Hymer Aktiv 1.0 or the Travato 59GL. I rented a van conversion for 4 days in Tofino, I had a blast. I’m leaning on going all in with the Travato 59GL, a used one. There is a G available but I think the GL is much better. All that said, I’ve been taking in your videos, they’ve been a great help... plus an inspiration towards full timing. Keep up the fun work! 😊

Robbie Morrison: Scott is primarily responsible for our decision to buy the Travato 59 GL with all his amazing videos and website info. We have A 32’ Grand Design trailer that we are selling and did love utilizing but now want a more nimble way to travel and higher boon-dock abilities. Scott is amazing with how generous he is with information and transparency; just a great overall human.

44k miles! I haven't watched you channel in a while! You have been busy! You really have to look at the sticker sheet to see what options came on the unit. And I never believe a dealer price on the internet. And even an individual owner. The owner always thinks their van is more expensive than it is worth.

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sounds like you really love your pets. That is great. A/C is critical to their and your comfort. If you are Boondocking and require A/C the Volta Pure3 lithium-ion is super important. That said I find that Boondocking in very high heat comfort is achieved by staying the shade and plugging into shore-power. Some will disagree, but running Charge On Demand cycles I have found may not keep up if your running the rooftop A/C 24/7 for days on end. Move to more temperate location or plunge in for shore- power to keep you and your critters cool.

About to pull the trigger on a 2019 59G 40,000mile. The lowest price I found in the country was 89,500 and I jumped on it w deposit. Should be the owner on Friday. This is tricked out pretty good w add ons. Not those awesome windows though. The owner kept the window sticker, it was 122,000 new. Hope I am a happy with it. I have a collapsible kayak that fits in a bag, hoping I can get that on the roof rack easily. Is there room for stuff up there w the solar panels and AC unit?

  • @johnpaulgarzaniti5065
    @johnpaulgarzaniti5065 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Initially I didn't understand your math. You paid 109,000 all in. What's your resale value after a year of ownership? You were all over the map with your estimates from stating "you would take no less than $80,000" to stating your rig was " certainly worth $90,000 to $95,000"? . $95,000 subtracted from $108,000 is not $10,000..
Let's say you could sell your rig for $95,000 That's $13,000 less than you paidfor your rig or approximately $1,000 a month depreciation if you've owned your rig for 13 months.
$13,000 though is not the cost of a year long vacation (for 13 months) as you implied because that's not your "all in" costs You've forgotten to add in all of your living expenses, and travel costs.
I would say those costs would have to exceed $1,000 a month.
I live in South Florida in a modest 2 bedroom condo. My all in costs ( and I mean all in costs of living) are spproximately $2000 a month .
In the end I would say my costs are roughly the same as what you have experienced owning your class b RV for a year +
The real question for many is "do I want to live in an RV or just occasionally vacation in one"?. The answer for most people is "occasionally vacation in one".

The smart comment above deserves an extended answer. Your video did not help me understand. U needed to present tools available online so that we have a better undestanding of selling price point. It is standard in the vehicle price warfare that 80% of options chosen when brand new will not add to the resale price of a used vehicle. Having said that , it is easier to sell a vehicle with added options than... please redo this video with more related analysis, such as a difference in price current brand new vrs used 2 years old. There should be a Delta in favor of the used vehicle otherwise we will buy brand new all the way all the time.

A lot of the price assumptions may be challenged in the bad market. We have lived through the longest expansion that allowed many people to afford these $100k+ RVs. If the market turns (and it very well may during pandemic), there RVs may lose half their value in few months. With the country closed, traveling discouraged, most parks closed and many people getting laid off or lose their savings what do you think will be the price for these RVs in the used market? And if, god forbid, RV dealerships or RV manufacturers are going bankrupt, it may remove any floor from the price of these units.

On the other hand, you might consider them more affordable housing.

That is define;ty one point of view. Based upon audience discussions and talking with folks in the RV industry things are looking good at this time. I for one am pushing through on making my dreams come true and helping others do the same. No cowering in fear here. Being realistic yes, but the journey must goes on! Thx for watching and taking time to comment !

LMAO! In the U.S., the 2020 Ram ProMaster represents a line of vans sold elsewhere under the Citroën and Peugeot brands. Those brands are know for being unreliable.

Great video! Love the wrap color. Do you know how much the Travato can tow? Also, do you think it would be feasible/cheaper to buy a used G then pay for the upgrades? Thanks and stay safe!🙏🏾😊🚐

I believe it can tow 3500 lbs.

So funny, I just hit the road for a year, but I live in the neighborhood, floral park, right where The Anchor Inn is.
