    At precisely 14:50 min mark, Tyler makes an error in calculation. The answer to the conversion of O2 to H2S is 6.2 (rounded) not 9.2. He quickly pushes foreword and finishes the conversion from O2 to SO2 with the correct answer. ;)
    He is a fantastic teacher. I just find that when a teacher doesn't acknowledge their errors, it can be very confusing to the pupil. :) Thank you for all the work that you do, Tyler!

    I am a high school chemistry teacher. I love using these videos to supplement my lessons. I like that Tyler shows "common sense" thinking and then shows the accepted math. In several videos, he states that teachers and textbooks "love" conversion factors. The reason for that is that conversion factors are the STANDARD. If you go to college, you will be expected to use conversion factors. You will look foolish if you don't know how to do it that way.

  • @Gabriel-qu5fb

    @14:55 i think you made a mistake there
    also i did the one with the conversion and its 6.13333333333333(to the infinite)
    although technically they are both 6 moles but maybe i did something wrong?

      @F1RSTN4M3BUNCHOFNUMB3RS 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because a lot of schools don’t focus enough on hiring teachers that actually know how to teach, instead exclusively focusing on if they know the subject well enough
      What a lot of people fail to realize is that being good at something does not equal being able to teach it effectively whatsoever

    • @F1RSTN4M3BUNCHOFNUMB3RS
      @F1RSTN4M3BUNCHOFNUMB3RS 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know if I had better teachers that would just teach us the formulas instead of being all vague and using over complicated word problems and trick questions I would be able to do math better
      I can actually solve it pretty fast when I’m actually told how to solve it I don’t even need the answer for that specific question

    YOU ARE MY HERO! I had literally no idea how to do this and was struggling in chemistry and then I found the videos you made and they have saved my grade and my love for science.
    You are the man!!!

    I'm so incapable of paying attention to chemistry that I got distracted by the fact that he doesn't have a wedding ring and started thinking in my head "damn, I hope he finds someone soon" and "how can he be single? He seems like a nice guy"

    Bro, I love it. He's over here talking about all this conversion factor stuff being too complicated. You're so correct. I missed the first day my teacher taught on this stuff and the fact that I wasn't there, had no explanation of what we were doing, and was in an accelerated class meant I was so lost. If my teacher had just showed us this, I would have realized how simple it actually was.

    yeah.. wow.. I laughed so hard when you said conversion factors make no sense.. uhh THANK YOU! I have only been saying this my whole semester. I should tell the dean of the school to cut you a check and fire our horrible professor. When we ask her for help she acts irritated like we are bothering her. Just discouraging. Thanks again!!!

    Thank you so much for this! The recipe concept has completely changed my thinking on conversion factors, which were like a foreign language to me. I was previously just mimicking the examples in our lab sheets without knowing at all what was going on. Now I can see how conversion factors work.
