When I first went to see them I was standing in the front row of a theatre circle. I jumped up and down to the music so much I got bruises on my knees. I LOVE this band.
They were on Roskilde Festival. They're fantastic Live. I was one, bright smile during the entire concert and completely lost in awe. - Possibly the best concert I attended there.
I love this song if theirs!!! Saw them perform it at Chagstock on sunday, was the best :D we all stood dancing like mad as well, singing along. Not a bad song to be dancing to next to a good looking guy. Plus when your near the front. The heat and the noise gets to you and you lose all care and just dance! XD
Why is everyone going on about tuning! This band is amazing! saw them for the first time last weekend Latitude Festival and they blew the roof off the Word Arena! I was grinning from ear to ear and dancing round like an idiot! This band feeds your soul and brings lots of fun and happiness to the people that see them live! That's all that matters! xxx
The only way I can describe this is crazy funky Dance-Folk Rhythm and Blues. Sound silly? That's cos your mind can't comprehend the awesomeness of Bellowhead.
For some reason the tune to this song makes me think of old animated movies (possibly animal based) - it just sounds like the kind of music that would be used.
@tommat00 I wasn't saying that. Yes you can indeed put instruments in different tunings, but they are still correctly in tune. You're not exactly going to tune each guitar string a semi tone away from eachother. That would be an incorrect way to tune the instrument. Also the violins here are in standard tuning G D A E here which is what I was talking about. Lots of people have won awards for stuff that is considerd shit but I highly doubt that the players wanted create a really disonant harmony.
"And this song is actually biographical about at least two members of the band." Somehow I missed that bit, first time around. 😉😜😘 May we know *which* two? 😉
Does anyone know what make/brand/model of banjo Benji is using?? I'm thinking of getting one (tired of borrowing) and that seems like a great sounding banjo :D
@tommat00 No I am sure the violins they are playing are perfectly in tune. I was talking about their intonation. If you're gonna go and play in the albert hall you bloody put your fingers in the right place. Also there is a correct way to tune an instrument. It's not a mistake or freestyle either, it's just shit playing.
Lots of pixellating but maybe that's me - just seen this at Latitude and it went down a storm - and the audience sang the chorus better than this crowd
Shut up and listen to the music, the violins are correctly in tune or they wouldn't play them like that and if they were would that make this music worse?
I saw them in Liverpool on Saturday night. Absolutely brilliant. Great atmosphere and a superb live band. suport act Beccy Owen was good as well.
One of the most underrated bands of recent times. Simply fantastic.
Fantastic this band is really great. and it is British!!! Long live BELLOWHEAD.
When I first went to see them I was standing in the front row of a theatre circle. I jumped up and down to the music so much I got bruises on my knees. I LOVE this band.
My brother and friend say that this is sailor music but I could'nt disagree more! I think modern society needs more music like this.
"Remember me when I was up Cheapside."
Very good advice. Excellent advice.
Love this group so much. ❤
I love this :)
Been singing the chorus ever since I saw em on the TV when they were playing at the Proms.
BOSS DRUMMER , LOVE the spoons in a can,too much!
This performance wasn't their best but saw them at Cambridge Folk yesterday and it was a hundred times better. Brilliant!
Damn!!! They're AMAZING. They kicked ass at the Calgary Folk Fest this past summer. Everyone was into it. So good.
its unreal how many times i've been to see them!!!! xo
They were on Roskilde Festival. They're fantastic Live. I was one, bright smile during the entire concert and completely lost in awe. - Possibly the best concert I attended there.
seen these guys twice at festivals now and i am soooooo in love with them!!!!!! xxxx
saw them both at Sidmouth and Towersey. At Towwersey everyone dancing and getting into the music broke the floor...happened 2 years ago as well =)
Never seen but like them lots!
Thanks for posting this, very enjoyable. The album this song appears on, Burlesque, is well worth a listen.
Yes, fantastic Roskilde gig, top five of all times for me.
Saw them this week at Whitby Pavilion, small venue, the band filled the stage. They were completely fantastic.

Brilliant...I want to see these guys live before I die..... Thanks for posting :-)
I saw this band at The Cambridge Folk Festival 2013, easily the best act there!

@Jacko11120 WOOOOO!!!!!!! They were amzing there.... So much dancing you could hardly see yourself think...
They were brilliant at Beautiful Days! :D
just seen the band at Somerleyton folkfest ,Fantastic
Very West Indian beat to this! Love it!
I like this sound, much better than the current radio playlists which seemed to be aimed at 12year olds
Great work
@shiney501 I was there too, and 100% agree. Anyone who hasn't seen them needs to... NOW!!!!!!!
The cutlery is immense.
Saw them at Dartford recently, amazing live have to say seem much better now than they do at proms then
Try 6music, only radio I can listen too these days and always playing something new I end up loving :)
tour starts this Thursday!! :))))
What a loss to music. Paul Sartin was a top musician and good guy.
So much better live. And this is still sick.
dobre to nawet :3

@BritishAlienCompany
I totally agree :)
they play soooo many instruments.......

It was quite hard to hear the singer but a catchy song to say the least!

He does look a bit like Allen - I can't believe I never noticed that before...
Who is here today?
Don't please, I'm really scared..
@skullcraft11 waw, lucky you, x
@Mattqetuo Likewise! They're just too damn awesome! 'Jessie J? Pahaaa! Bellowhead all the way' :D x
@tommat00 I highly doubt that!
A billion times better than Lady Gaga and the like! These guys are awesome!!!!

this is very good music. much better than lady gaga
such a shame they split
Jon Boden....but the oboeist (who wrote this tune!) is far cuter! ;)
Lots of pixellating but maybe that's me - just seen this at Latitude and it went down a storm - and the audience sang the chorus better than this crowd
Couldn't agree more. "Coldplay with a banjo" suits Mumford to a 'T'. They're music for people who don't really like music - just bland.
Shame the fiddle players can't play in tune!
@Victoria Rogers I agree, nowhere near as good as Mumford & Sons..
Shut up and listen to the music, the violins are correctly in tune or they wouldn't play them like that and if they were would that make this music worse?
wow.....this kinda ruins V-fest for me now
