His father had almost exactly the same frame. He ended up having back problems for several years before retiring. His height made it difficult to keep his back healthy.

The Giants should draft this guy. Move Evan Neal to guard. Draft Joe Alt to play RT. Keep Andrew Thomas at LT. The Giant's line is dreadful. Just keep throwing picks at it until you draft another 10+ year talent. Andrew Thomas is that good. They just need to solidify the RT. Giants OL in 2023 was the lowest ranked OL in the past 5 seasons according to PFF. Real bad. It didn't help that Andrew Thomas was injured and missed a bunch of games.

Don't be surprised if the Rams trade up and take Alt. They would have an unbelievable OL and the protection Stafford needs to pick defenses apart.

There’s a huge debate in chargers fans on should we choose Alt/Bowers vs Nabers/bowers.
IMO I would rather go Nabers or bowers cuz I feel that’s what we need more but the you can give some counter points to my opinions feel free to let me know!
If Bowers is there at 5. He will be the best player remaining on the board, and fills multiple needs for the Chargers. Should be an easy choice.

Alt shuts down the pass rush at the line of scrimage, whereas Fashanu stays on his blocks as the defenders circle around and crowd the top of the pocket.

If Bill Belichick is still making the picks for NE in the 2024 draft, I see Joe Alt being his guy in Rd 1. Now, QB is their #1 needs, even with some late season juice from Bailey Zappe, but no one likes mountainous, long, athletic, experienced, scheme diverse, fundamentally sound OT's more than him. OT is also a need for them.

Personal experience (12 years ago) I went to the same High school as Flozell Adams (stopped by to visit us since our HC was good friends with him) and one of the things he taught me was not extend myself into the rusher because he’s 6’7” the rusher then becomes the fulcrum. “That’s how Dwight (freeney) keeps making mothafuckers look stupid”
He’s an absolute unit but if I can reduce his need to reach, he’ll be in a better position to succeed. +30-50lbs and he’s an absolute wall.
Very good hands and locking in on the opponent, double team work is chefs kiss and the ability to seek the block in the open field is wonderful.
It’s nitpicking but the league even watches when qbs breath to determine the count.

Modern NFL tackles do much more open field blocking on WR screen and outside zone plays. I wonder how well he would do with that because you dont see him attempt it much on college film.
He’s probably the purest athlete for the position in the draft class. I’m sure he will be just fine.

He’s tight in his hips and has no kick slide. Balance issues and a habit of lunging also. I’d pump the breaks on “generational” talk.
