I have HFpEF with normal blood pressure. My cardiologist is treating me with spironolactone and torsemide. My feet have been swelling (not really bad but still miserable) for the past two months but my cardiologist can't increase the torsemide without causing kidney function loss. Is there any new treatment that can help me? I feel awful almost every day. I am only about 5 pounds overweight and do not have diabetes.
Dear Theresa, I heard your description and that you have heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. First of all let me say that you have to consult the cardiologist who diagnosed your heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. You have a few options available after ruling out ischemic heart disease. You can use a combination of valsartan and securities 25+25mg. After ruling out kidney dysfunction by measuring the egfr. I don't know your age you need to rule out chronic venous insufficiency and if so use elastic stockings and keeping your feet high when sitting
