Most of what I listen to is traditional jazz, Brasilian, Blues,---but I LOVE and appreciate talent...regardless the genre. Groups and artists like England Dan & Ford Coley, Joni, Glen Campbell, Bill Whiters, Laura Nyro, Bread, America, etc. were/are simply gifted when it came to crafting lyrics and melody that had weight. EricBlackmonGuitar I was ten. I'm going to play this tomorrow when I can start fresh. I know I can play it. It's in my head, and I know all those chords. I like to thank you and all the TH-cam teachers. I started a few years back and here lately, all that practice has paid off. Two days ago I watched a song, it wasn't a tutorial, once and played it with flaws, but in minutes. Keep practicing beginners, you really can do it! Thanks Eric!

Yeah you and a few other online teachers have been my life the last 2-3 years, relearning things the right way, and expanding a bit, quite happy. I like you and a few others because of the level of professionalism in your lessons, I know you know what your doing when u present a song. There are some online guys, God bless em, but I watch the lesson and know right off the bat it's wrong, so I look for the guys who get it right, it's valuable to know the difference, good to have learned by ear, that's what makes that discern action possible. John McLaughlin himself had a great series called 'Technics" , got something out of that. I started out a blues guy, ha. Yeah right your thinking, but I had a good teacher that said you must pass through these portals, ya know Django, BB. MUddy...etc., and scores of jazz guys, Al Dimeola, Larry Carlton, Wes..etc., so I did. But staring out its easier to bend to notes, cause you don't know what you want, but you can slide into 3rd ya know, bend a few, that worked, it's good to bend, not be so locked into scales. Tough getting that perfect solo. Than came Eddie Van Halen, I'd ask myself, gee, fast notes, I pick them but it doesn't sound the same, never knew about tapping, huh, more frustrating than anything. But that's how it goes, change happens, and it's a life long pursuit, well, long may u run
Agreed Dave, Eric is one of the good ones. It's not easy finding guys who have the ear AND the theory. Dave Price is another good one as is the tonedr. Those are the three to whom I am subscribed from whom I have learned some 70s songs quickly. Big thanks to Eric and the rest of the guys on here!

I found it really difficult to arch my finger on the first E string first fret. And make the other notes sound. Instead l play that first note and immediately take my finger off and can play the other notes easily. Just a suggestion l found useful since that note is only played once. I hope this helps those that can't hold and arch that note. Doing well, thanks to my great teacher Eric Blackmon.

I watched guitar tutorials for this amazing song and almost all of them did the same. They used capo in the second fret to get the standard tuning. It was simple. Your tutorial complicated things up.

Most of what I listen to is traditional jazz, Brasilian, Blues,---but I LOVE and appreciate talent...regardless the genre. Groups and artists like England Dan & Ford Coley, Joni, Glen Campbell, Bill Whiters, Laura Nyro, Bread, America, etc. were/are simply gifted when it came to crafting lyrics and melody that had weight. Hi Troy! I was in my twenties and was playing in a band! We tried to play it back then and did a horrible job! LOL!
EricBlackmonGuitar I was ten. I'm going to play this tomorrow when I can start fresh. I know I can play it. It's in my head, and I know all those chords. I like to thank you and all the TH-cam teachers. I started a few years back and here lately, all that practice has paid off. Two days ago I watched a song, it wasn't a tutorial, once and played it with flaws, but in minutes. Keep practicing beginners, you really can do it! Thanks Eric!

Yeah you and a few other online teachers have been my life the last 2-3 years, relearning things the right way, and expanding a bit, quite happy. I like you and a few others because of the level of professionalism in your lessons, I know you know what your doing when u present a song. There are some online guys, God bless em, but I watch the lesson and know right off the bat it's wrong, so I look for the guys who get it right, it's valuable to know the difference, good to have learned by ear, that's what makes that discern action possible. John McLaughlin himself had a great series called 'Technics" , got something out of that. I started out a blues guy, ha. Yeah right your thinking, but I had a good teacher that said you must pass through these portals, ya know Django, BB. MUddy...etc., and scores of jazz guys, Al Dimeola, Larry Carlton, Wes..etc., so I did. But staring out its easier to bend to notes, cause you don't know what you want, but you can slide into 3rd ya know, bend a few, that worked, it's good to bend, not be so locked into scales. Tough getting that perfect solo. Than came Eddie Van Halen, I'd ask myself, gee, fast notes, I pick them but it doesn't sound the same, never knew about tapping, huh, more frustrating than anything. But that's how it goes, change happens, and it's a life long pursuit, well, long may u run
Agreed Dave, Eric is one of the good ones. It's not easy finding guys who have the ear AND the theory. Dave Price is another good one as is the tonedr. Those are the three to whom I am subscribed from whom I have learned some 70s songs quickly. Big thanks to Eric and the rest of the guys on here!

I found it really difficult to arch my finger on the first E string first fret. And make the other notes sound. Instead l play that first note and immediately take my finger off and can play the other notes easily. Just a suggestion l found useful since that note is only played once. I hope this helps those that can't hold and arch that note. Doing well, thanks to my great teacher Eric Blackmon.

I watched guitar tutorials for this amazing song and almost all of them did the same. They used capo in the second fret to get the standard tuning. It was simple. Your tutorial complicated things up.
Capo playing is specifically for beginners. There are tons of beginner videos on my channel. This is NOT a beginner video.

England Dan didn't use a capo. Learning the hard, complicated chords makes you a better guitar player. Capoing a song that didn't need it is lazy, imo. C'mon man.
