He'd have a few less league titles and Champions league title if it wasn't for Keane possessed like a demon to drag a win out of a hopeless situation in 1999 in Turin.
I was 7 back then and saw that game , i asked my grandfather who was that guy that ran like a bull , and my grandfater said "he is a warrior son , something that you cant understand but imagine those knights thay you are learning at school going to war ... thats Roy Keane" . From that day forward Roy was the best player in the world for me , and played with Celtic in FM 2007(i think) because of him , now has an adult i can say that Roy made me love football for the emotional part and not only for the beauty of the plays and goals . Sir Alex is arguably the greatest football manager. It's natural that the bar he would set would be incredibly high. But Schmeichel, Van de Sar, Stam, Vidic, Ferdinand, Keane, Beckham, Rooney, Nistelroy etc would be ranked world class by 99% of experts.
Vidic, Schmeicel, Nistelroy and Beckham were not world class. They were great players but there are levels. Keane and Stam were but Stam played for a short stint at United and Keane and Fergusson hated each other
@@erikpuka2627 all 4 of those players were world class. world class is defined as one of the best players in the world in your position. vidic won the player of the year twice in a row, universally undisputed as one of the best defenders in the world in his prime, Schmeichel is frequently regarded as the best premier league goalkeeper, and van nistelrooy was definitely top5 striker in the world in his prime
@@dontchatbreeze was he world class or did Fergusson made him look like that ? Fergusson made many players look better than theyvwere and they failed miserably elsewhere. Cleverley, Anderson, Evans, Smallong , Jones - list goes on
Coming from an arsenal fan I have to say that Ruud Van Nistelrooy was 100% world class in his 5 short years he was at untied, they’ve never had a striker like him since or after
Same. I hated Nistlerooy back then. Each time we faced Man U, I always say "can someone do something about this man"? Literally each time I saw his face 😅
Reading the comments, im glad to see people constantly talking about Roy Keane. I thought i was only one of a few who cherished the leader, the fighter, the warrior and the greatest captain Man United ever had. When im feeling lazy or unmotivated I watch a Roy Keane highlights video and suddenly i feel like working hard to be the best at what i do. Truly inspirational. There's only one Keano. Keane did say in the Viera documentary that the best manager he ever played for was Brian Clough. So Sir Alex was never gonna forgive that. Extremely competitive people are like that. Im sure deep down they both appreciate each other highly.
I agree with what you say about him as a leader but I don't think people give him enough credit for his technical abilities. He could have played for any team in Europe in his prime.
Keane would end up killing someone if he played football today, and it wouldn't necessarily be an opponent. Egos are huge nowadays, and they've poisoned the minds of many. Can you imagine a Pogba type of hyped player, their own biggest fan, playing alongside Keane?!? Roy would scare the lad and Pogba would demand a transfer, something along those lines. One thing Keane did get was people's respect, respect built on character and performances, respect not just from his own teammates but from his opponents too. You need a leader who bites, someone you really don't want to let down, dare I say someone who intimidates you?!? These types of players aren't around anymore, and it's all down to the money that's now in football in my opinion. How do you strike fear into a player who earns 300K+ a week, when you know that anything too loud or too aggressive will mean you could quite easily lose him to another club if he's scared more than he'd have liked. If people tell you you're fantastic enough, you'll believe it long past when it stopped being true. That's the poison chalice that's individual superstardom nowadays, spoils it to be honest
He's not world class. He always wanted to be a world class striker but RvP showed even in the twilight of his career what scoring class means. Rooney did of course score some very important goals on occasions but he was nowhere near the same class.
@@Shivian124 Rooney is the only player in epl history to record double digits in goals and assists for 5 seasons. Shivian124 I’m sorry, did you just say RVP was world class and Wayne Rooney who won everything wasn’t? Please don’t tell me your a united fan, I’m embarrassed if so.
Doesn't make him world class. He was at the club for 13 seasons and only managed 20+ goals over all competitions 3 times. Nistleroy was here for 5 seasons and did it 4 times, if he had 13 seasons at the club he would probably have doubled rooneys figures.
Wayne Rooney was world class, and would've been world class in *any* outfield position on the pitch. He could've played anywhere, in any position and be top top level. There's not many players that have that quality to their game.
Fergie knows what he's talking about. Ronaldo was head & shoulders above Rooney. Top, top level looks something like: Messi continuing Barca's South American Legacy which consists of Romario, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho... The 4 R's in turn, Barca's response to Di Stefano - who won first 5 European Cups for Real Madrid. Add Pele + Maradona + Cruyff + Xavi + Zizou to the list. For Defenders, you have Beckenbauer + Baresi + Maldini who are top top level. In goal, Yashin.

Not only one of the worlds greatest football managers, but no journalist ever got the better of him, quite the opposite! A proper bloke, with a single minded attitude to his role as manager. Well done Sir Alex Ferguson.
Keane, Schmeichel, Stam, Vidic, Van Nistelrooy...Rio. All world class. Ridiculous to leave Keane out cos they fell out...Van Nistelrooy was a goal machine...they fell out too...Stam...they fell out too mmmmmm
Van Persie was a player on his day but yeah...Beckham was always a hard one to call, the best, or one of, at what he did well (crossing, free kicks etc) but had obvious weaknesses (couldn't dribble, take a man on. Great but limited so a difficult call...was also good positionally and at stealing a free kick
He was not a world class player by any stretch of the imagination. He was a tough leader and a bully. Obviously an important part of their machine but not world class.
@@dominikfisara7965😅 shut up, as an Arsenal fan myself, we'd have won more than 3 PL titles if Keane wasn't a United player. Absolutely was a world class player. @dominik fisara that's a typical comment today 20 years on about Keane that he was just a bully .. That's total rubbish . Keane had it all rarely gave the ball away . Was well able to take a goal And could spot a pass in an instant .. People who think he was just a bully have either short memories or never saw him play .. I'm not a utd fan either by the way
we can still disagree with his definition of world class being only the players who created and scored goals. for me there are world class players in every position. i think it's obvious that fergie has issues with certain players and he's a bit of a troll at times. he is blinded by power. but he's a great man, a great leader and a great character. if he was perfect it would be boring.
'World class' for Fergie means 'great players that didn't fall out with me'. Hence Keane, Stam, Rooney, Beckham, Van Nistelrooy don't get a look in. It's so transparent. (He's a legend all the same though)
i think because denis irwin was a quiet lad in and around the dressing room..and he didnt shout too much on the pitch, that he is constantly over looked as being probably the best defender the premiership has seen...could play left or right back so effortlessly ,,,,the guy was just so confident and clever...could read the game so well..and his ability to cross a ball at speed was immense.,,i genuinely have never seen him play a poor game for united...and to top it off,,the model professional on and off the pitch..and a really nice guy for good measure...and..oh yeah,,,could leave keepers rooted to the spot with his dead ball specials......world class.!
Cristiano Ronaldo best player of the History of Man United, any doubt? Just review the videos !!! Sir Alex Ferguson himself has said it many times, just like Anceloti and Zidane who said that Cristiano Ronaldo had been the best player they had ever trained ...
@@VanVu-uu3jl even then Messi won't be the better one at training, you may debate he is better thn cr7 but he doesn't train like Ronaldo. Ronaldo is crazy about his training.
Ferguson left out Keane who was the outstanding player at the club for almost 13 years because they fell out at the end but what a legend Keane was. Unbelievable player and world class.
When he mentioned world class, he was thinking in terms of magicians, game changers, players with sublime technical ability. There were others of course, warriors like Keane, Vidic, Robson, Ferdinand and Schmeical who provided the foundation for the showstoppers to shine.
He was a bit stiff. And I don't mean in terms of pace. Don't get me wrong, he scored some amazing goals, but he always reminded me of that one kid on the pitch in school who has no idea how to dribble or even kick a ball properly, but has all the enthusiasm and energy in the world.
He was Ruud. He was NEVER. World Class footballer as his game was LIMITED as he played just outside the box and scored ONLY inside of it. Purely a GOALSCORER a deadly one.
Wish Dan asked him about 5-10 players not on that list one by one. I think that list, even if your being ruthless, could be at least eight. The four he said are no debate.
Roy Keane was easily the greatest and most influential player Ferguson ever had and he knows that well. He devalued himself as a man and a manager to make settling scores more important than telling the truth.
This is when motions take over a man, when honestly is hidden , at least you can say i hated some of the players but they were world class, Keane was united , the backbone
Roy Keane was one of the most complete midfielders of his generation and a truly world class player. Morons who know nothing about the game and ABU's will tell you he was just a thug who went around kicking people, but anyone who saw Roy in his prime, knows anything about football and is being objective, knows Roy was one of the greatest midfielders of his or any other generation. He was the heartbeat and playmaker in that United team as well as the first and sometimes last line of defense. These kids that base their assusmptions on 5 minute youtube videos, who were just old enough to see Scholes sitting deep and spraying long balls around toward the end of his career assume he was uniteds playmaker, but he wasn't in Keane's prime, Keane was, Scholesy played up behind the strikers. Keane didn't hit 40 yeard Hollywood passes that look good in youtube videos like Scholey did, he played short quick passes into feet (similar to what Carrick is being praised for now) and was always setting a pace that other teams just couldn't live with and he went out and performed week in week out for 10 years, unlike Gerrard, Lampard, Viera or any of the rest of them, who had quiet periods and that's why united wouldn't go more then a year or two without winning a league from the ninteies to the early 2000's. Whats more he did it internationally for Ireland surrounded by weaker players, dominating the likes of Davids, Seedorf and Rui Costa to name just a few, playing alongside players like Matt Holland and Mark Kinsella. As good as Scholesy, Giggsy and Cantona were, Roy Keane, Cristiano Ronaldo and big Pete are the only players during Fergies era who you could actually class as being the best players or in the top 3 in the world in their positions at certain time periods. Fergie is just being disengenious here
Ze TheGame yes I’m Irish so I’m proving you right here but Keane made Utd tick game after game after game. He dominated his position for years & was central to Utd’s strength at the time. World class? I think yes.
Obviously he would never mention Keane. He left on bad terms with Fergie and he is the only ex united player who actually talks crap about united after he retired!
You either weren't old enough to understand how good of a footballer Roy Keane was or you just know nothing about football. Keane dominated games. He didn't play 50 yard passes like Scholes, beat 3 or four players like Giggs, but he was the heartbeat of that United team, dominant defensively obviously, but controlled the tempo of the game, fizzing sharp short passes into feet and always moving to be in position to take it back. In his prime it wasn't Scholes that was the united playmaker, but Keane. Scholes would push up a lot more in those days, that's why he scored more goals. Keane dominated midfields containing the likes of Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, Rui Costa in weak Ireland teams internationally with the likes of Mark Kinsella and Matt Holland playing alongside him. Just a hacker? Go watch womens hockey you fool.
well done ...i always thought he did not get the credit and yes i remember watching the game with juventus lol ...he did not make a fuss when he slid with the ball into our own net..he laid on his back and i bet he thought at that moment..fucking hell didnt mean to do that and where was those fucking defenders...he jumped up after 3 seconde lying on his back then got on with a performance that took us into the next round... a real hero ....
As a Liverpool fan even I could name a few in the United squads that were world class that he missed off but the top one has to be Schmeichel. That guy was an amazing keeper. Of that era the only keeper that I can think of that could challenge him was Oliver Kahn so he has to be world class.
Everyone's concept of 'world class' differs, including managers and coaches. In my opinion, a world class player is specialised in their position, simple.
was going to post this, thank you! yeah it goes by what your definition of world class is which might be different for a manager (i.e. someone on time for training constantly, no off field controversy etc.) - something ive seen is that they are players that could get into any team across the world, which is still perhaps a little woolly and means its opened out enough that guys in their prime like Vidic and Van Nistlerooy would qualify
Absolutely and Most of the time Manchester United had a world class player in each position during his era...They probably didn't have depth like some other great teams...But regardless...just look at his squads... quality everywhere...
Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs, Keane, Schmeichel, Ferdinand, Beckham, Rooney were all world class among others. I think world class is to be the best in your position not just forward players like he said. All in all he had more than four world class players and it’s debatable whether Cantona was truly world class.
Scholes was the best player fergie ever had .ronaldo first 2 seasons a show pony giggs was inconsistent cantona was good for 2 seasons ..fergie had 4 truly world class players schemical keane vidic and rooney ..and as for ronaldo never will he be in messi.s class
@@EannaButler nope he chose the real world class players You can not say Rooney is world class when he is never been top scorer in premier league well playing for Manchester united.
Football is a team sport, individual awards like Ballan D'or doesn't matter in larger aspects. And we all can assume why he didn't call Beckham a "world class" player. Fact- D Beckham is amongst the top five midfielders ever played this sport so far.
Rooney the highest scorer for United and England, never gets the respect he deserves. He scored bangers when most of his career he played as the second striker or winger. Prime rooney is unbeatable.
He mentioned players I always think of when I think of Manchester United. Eric Cantona was part of a special MU era which is ancient now but if you were watching then then you will never forget it. Cantona was there at the start of when things swung towards Manchester United for consecutive league winnings. Giggs and Scholes, simply two magicians who made special plays and always got the ball across to other players who scored. It's only Cristiano Ronaldo who I know less of. When Cris came I was paying less attention to MU, but for a long time when I wasn't looking MU were continuously winning the league with Alex ... He's entitled to his opinion but there are so many more players: Cole, Rooney, Beckham, Yorke ... Goals every week 😊Credits to Alex Ferguson, his expertise and vision made the whole thing work.
You can argue all day about what makes a world class player but let me say this. If one of the greatest goalkeepers to have ever lived isn't world class then the whole thing is a joke. Peter Schmeichel, probably the best keeper of his generation. Roy Keane, the most consistent player the PL has ever had. I like Sir Alex but not to include these 2 as world class just makes his opinion look all wrong.
You should understand his tone behind his explanation. He’s not talkin world class in general. I think he’s talking ever. Giggs and cantona imo I would put schimichael for either but those 2 are just as good. But they had a much bigger impact on the game then schimichael. Ronaldo and scholes are players spoken in air so rare, in prem history scholes is only bettered by Henry and bergkamp. In history Ronaldo is only matched by Messi maradona and Pele, see his view on it. Longevity also seems to influence it. Giggs 20+ years same with scholes Ronaldo did so much in so little time but even in his career he’s just done unspoken things, Catona was short but like I said he’s one u could swap and I feel is only included because he saved fergie his job when United didn’t win a title for like 8 years
Cantona in: 4 times champions, the only year MU didnt win it was when Eric was suspended... If he hadnt been suspended MU would have won 5 titles in a row. Who's got better results?
I agree Cantona was very important but there should've been more named. Even Cantona needed the likes of Irwin, Hughes, Schmeichel, Giggs etc... Only title Irwin didn't win from 1995/96 to 2000/01 was when he got injured just before game at Highbury which ultimately lost ManUtd the 97/98 title (but also Cantona had just left and Keane was injured most of that season).
Robert Walsh him and Feedinand, Schools, Giggs, Neville brothers, Ronaldo’s DNA, Ronaldo’s motivation, English football and luck that he played great against him, but yeah it was mostly Sir flex (no irony except in flex)
he says he always considered world class the players that create chances for the team, therefore strikers or wingers Did you even listen to the whole video?
@Colloquial Soliloquy yes, so what? He might have left out someone due to bitterness and a harsh relationship, but not the names of the comment above, who are not wingers nor strikers.
Claudio Mekelele was better technically. If you want fighters in your team why don't you go for Sergio Ramos? english attitude to the game is stupid, that is why big clubs don't buy your premier league overrated scrap. Only player to succeed in Spain is probably Macmanaman of all the english players.. Not Bale, not beckham and not owen. They'd buy a 19 year old Ozil from Werder Bremen but not the very infamous JACK WILSHERE, the youngster with scissors for feet, who supposedly made Barcelona dance later that year (back in 2010). yeap, great clubs don't hold respect for england and its talent. its all a media and baloons down there. x)
Not to include Roy Keane is petty, he was the most important part of that team for me. I think Ferguson was always jealous of Roy's talent and his influence on the players.
Old whiskey nose is greatly overestimating his contribution. He had many other world class players Beckham, Stam, Van Nistelroy, Rooney, Vidic, Keane, Ferdinand and those are just the first to pop into my mind. Probably another 4 or 5 that I could find.
When you describe 'world class players' you talk about longevity and consistency. Not just perform for a month of a year. But every day year in year out and those 4 world class players done it.
@@aranyaismthat was because he entered his prime years not because Real Madrid managed him better or something. At the same time I do believe Ronaldo would have been world class irrespective of SAf or no but he probably wouldn't have turned out to be one of THE very greatest if not for SAF
As an Arsenal fan how you couldn’t consider Ferdinand, vidic, schmiceal, keane, rooney, stam, van Der sar, van nistlerooy, Irwin all world class is insane
Peter Schmicheal was a world class Goal keeper and was outstanding through out his career. A lot of other players had their ups and downs based around being consistently world class but Fergie definitely missed Schmicheal on the list.
IMO a world class player is one that would get into any team, any where in the world, and there is no doubt that Peter Schmeichel could've got into any team. He was THE best keeper I have ever seen. With out him UTD could not have played such an attacking and Cavalier style of football.
@@lukemit6640 Ok let me put it another way. If any team would've needed a world class keeper they would've had Schmeichel. Obviously Juve didn't need one coz they already had one, and he also would've got into any team in the world
@@lukemit6640 roughly the same time is misleading. Schmeichel was mainly a keeper in the 90s, Buffon the 2000s+. Their overlap would have seen a 32 year old goalkeeper pitted against a 15 year old (1995), in which case you'd choose Schmeichel, or a 36 year old vs a 19 year old (1999) in which case you'd choose Buffon, mainly because Peter had admitted he couldn't handle the big time by that stage.
Nobody missed it, Fergie is purposely trying to put noses out of joint. It's very transparent. How can you have Cantona above people like Schmeichel and Keane? Absolutely ridiculous and he knows it. He wanted the controversy.
@@mojomaster1979 Your opinion is taken, but it's a bit ludicrous to even contradict his point, he was the manager during said time, they asked him the question, and that is what he chose, on top of that, many players at Man U reflect Cantona's presence in many accounts, look for yourself. You have every right to question his choice, I hear your passion, maybe 4 was cutting it small ? Haha
He didn't like Rooney, Keane, Van Nistelroy or Schmeichel. They were all strong-minded individuals, not robots who did what they were told. Ferguson always came across as a little petulant and United is still recovering from his legacy.
schmeichel, Ferdinand... possibly beckham. beckham was certainly a world-class passer / crosser of the ball. Best crosser I've ever seen by a mile, he made it a skill of its own.
possibly? eh? Other than Ronaldo, he is the only United player who came close to world player of the year. Much, much better player than Giggs. Not even close.
Rooney has to be named. I could name so many more that weren't chosen but as he says there he's really only talking about attackers obviously v.Nistelrooy and many more have a strong argument too but Rooney is an absolute no brainer. Ferguson was clearly thinking about the time Rooney was trying the leave the club, probably similar reasons to not picking Beckham Keane etc...(because midfielders were included) and also Irwin even as a full-back offered so much going forward a lot of ManUtd's goals came from his play and ability with both feet and ManUtd won loads of trophies in his time there. The thing is I would've understood more if he only wanted to pick players who've got a certain aura and BallonDor winners and/or made huge impacts in multiple teams in their career, league title's with different teams and made the difference but he chose the likes of Giggs so it shows the flaws in the statement there. Even Beckham had more of that superstar aura and doing it at other clubs than he & Scholes had. I do agree with Scholes being named and I'm not surprised that Giggs was but Ferguson was lying he DID know that his comment would cause a stir as it was controversial and full of flaws. His comment about his most underrated players had more sense but even there he again narrows it down to a small number where there were a lot more to name.
Fergie can’t help himself. By him saying he only had 4 genuine world class players he’s inadvertently saying he was even more special than he already thinks. Let’s name more world class players he had. Keane Schmeical Stam Irwin Ferdinand Vidic Beckham V Nistelrooy Rooney Tevez And Veron was world class, Fergie just wasn’t able to utilise his talents.
Fergie, like he said, is qualified to give his opinion on who his world class players were - more qualified than you'll ever be - judging by your list.
Denis Irwin was World Class in two positions!...He scored a Messi-like dribbled goal against Liverpool, and many top class goals. He scored Messi-like free kicks....he was a defender and did this!
Roy Keane would have walked onto any international team, any club team and he would have ruled.. Keano was MU's greatest every player by a country mile.

@@sigmaritearchlector5869 its a moot point as Keane was never going to leave United for those teams and vice verse. Keane regularly had top international players for breakfast both on the European cup stage and at international level.
What Fergie wanted ton say is that there were four players that the team was built around, the team played the way they played, and then there were soldiers and gladiators led by Keane who went to battle alongside the four.
I’d accept it if he’d said three, scholes, cantona and Ronaldo. They clearly stood out. But Giggs was mainly loyalty and longevity rather than real talent greater than his peers
Sir Alex seems to be one of the rare kind of british people who can look at the facts from a football experts perspective. And that's probably the reason why he was so successful with Manchester when the english national team used to fail horribly all the time.
HAHA! Am i reading this write? Ashley Cole a game changer, neither were the rest. World class is what Sir Alex is talking about, not players that are world class in there position. As stupid as that sounds, trust me there is a difference.
Minkki82 only coz of Messi and Ronaldos dominance do ppl think that these days! When they retire it might go back to normal! I remember the great AC Milan team of 91 defenders like Baresi Costacurta and Maldini would win lots of votes if they were playing now
In the end he said is teams who win trophies not individual players. And that is why neither Messi or Ronaldo will ever win the world cup. It takes a team to win not a single player. Thats the problem now a days people waiting for Messi or Ronaldo to do miracles.
nah I think he's means its hard to be a game changer as a defender, you can have 10 interceptions 5 blocks and a goal line clearance but it doesn't change the fact that the opposition are pummeling you with every attack even though they might not score, whereas a winger maybe so excellent that the opposition has to delegate an extra defender to contain him, opening up gaps for others and suddenly you're on the front foot etc defenders can save a game, but hard for them to actually change the game
I believe the whole of the Red Devils who played under SAF( SHARP/voda era 90s-2000s) were world class. That's why they were the best football team in the world back then. Scholesy, Giggsy, Cantona and Ronaldo were the ones that were even better than world class. That's what he meant.
Priince Brvce Golden Boot winner, responsible for handing Messi his 1st UCL, chased until he was 36 by Sir Alex. He wasted his career in Scotland. Only issue.
He holds grudges against Schmeichel. Because he didn't get on with Keane? Because he played for City and Aston Villa? Because he thinks very highly of himself? Who knows...
I know for a fact that Schmeichel sacrificed precious time with his family for Man Utd, and he performed like nobody else. That's world class work ethic and performance.
As much as I don't like Man Utd, Ferguson is a legend and deserve respect. One of the top managers of the modern age, regardless of industry. And probably uncontested #1 football manager.
"World class" means more than just, "great" it means, "up there with DiStefano, Puskas, Pele, Eusebio, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Zico, Maradona, Maldini, Zidane, etc. Those player are ULTRA-RARE among the thousands of "great" players of the post-1945 era. Cantona and Scholes were the greatest I ever saw. Keane was remarkable, truly remarkable, but it was more to do with temperament and leadership than skill.

Keano was a different type of animal, absolute beast. One of the most underrated midfielders ever
I agree with what you say about him as a leader but I don't think people give him enough credit for his technical abilities.
He could have played for any team in Europe in his prime.
100% man
Keane would end up killing someone if he played football today, and it wouldn't necessarily be an opponent.

This is when motions take over a man, when honestly is hidden , at least you can say i hated some of the players but they were world class, Keane was united , the backbone
"It's my opinion" - what a way to answer the question.

Beckham was worldclass come on, his freekicks and crosses were some of the best of all time
Never recall him tackling
@@ConradBlakeman 💀
He spoke of the 4 he thought had the most impact aside from just being world class but most of u missed this key point
Haha
Keane was fantastic but cantona was a genius.
Thanks
He didn't like Rooney, Keane, Van Nistelroy or Schmeichel. They were all strong-minded individuals, not robots who did what they were told. Ferguson always came across as a little petulant and United is still recovering from his legacy.
What and Eric Cantona was a Robot 😂😂😂
probably true.
Even Beckham for what he did with passing and dead balls
Schmeichel was a beast, one of the best goalkeepers of that time if not the best. Beckham was fantastic and underrated, Roy Keane... Cmon Fergie.
Beckham underrated 😂
Can't believe he left out David May!
I was shocked he didnt include the great Tom Cleverly
I think I seen him sneaking behind Fergie at the back there!!!
It’s hard to argue with sir Alex but I’d love to hear his definition of world class
Rooney was world class! man scored the most goals in utd history and he had a beer belly for the second half of his career
Shrek was not world class🤣
Rooney was the best player in the world in 2004-2005
Keane was the best in his position in the world for longer than Cantona was???? And Keane won so many more medals for United
Navah King Keane wasn’t the best in his position in the world
schmeichel, Ferdinand... possibly beckham. beckham was certainly a world-class passer / crosser of the ball. Best crosser I've ever seen by a mile, he made it a skill of its own.
possibly? eh? Other than Ronaldo, he is the only United player who came close to world player of the year. Much, much better player than Giggs. Not even close.
I agree 👍💯
Sir Alex cant you come back to Manchester United we need you
Rooney has to be named.
Keane
Schmeical
Stam
Irwin
Ferdinand
Vidic
Beckham
V Nistelrooy
Rooney
Tevez
And Veron was world class, Fergie just wasn’t able to utilise his talents.
Gary and Phil 👍
Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck
Fergie, like he said, is qualified to give his opinion on who his world class players were - more qualified than you'll ever be - judging by your list.
@@GK-bl4pg sorry I offended your sensitive little mind. 😘
I'm a Liverpool fan. But first I'm a football fan and I have to say what Klopp said
HE IS THE JOHN LENON OF FOOTBALL
Denis Irwin was World Class in two positions!...He scored a Messi-like dribbled goal against Liverpool, and many top class goals. He scored Messi-like free kicks....he was a defender and did this!
Brendan O'Hare i think irwin is number 5... pure world class and so humble that ferguson forgot about him
Irwin was the best full back the EPL has ever seen, yes better than Ashley cole
@@andrewvaughan5686 Many fb’s were better than Ashley Cole 😅
Is this Keane in disguise
What about Van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane, Bryan Robson.
Van der Sar, Beckham, Vidic, Rio, RVN, Evra was a world class LB, Gary Neville was one of the best RBs around at the time.
Irwin was better than Neville & Evra
Roy Keane was probably the single most important reason United won the trophies that they won, come out of the fog Fergie you bitter man
Roy Keane would have walked onto any international team, any club team and he would have ruled.. Keano was MU's greatest every player by a country mile.
@@dfstarborn Nah, was a perfect fit for UTD but he wouldn't have walked into Milan and taken over Gattuso, Guti at Real Madrid, Marquez at Barca or Cambiasso at Inter.
@@sigmaritearchlector5869, Of course, he would have, he was a machine that couldn't be stopped. If there's one player you'd want in any team it's Roy Keane.
@@dfstarborn Yeah no. He was the perfect fit for United like I told you. Would Barca take him over Marquez/Busquets? No way. Would Milan take him over Gattuso? Very unlikely. Would Inter take him over Zanetti or Cambiasso? No chance. He was great but there were always much better players and captains.
Well put
I’d accept it if he’d said three, scholes, cantona and Ronaldo. They clearly stood out. But Giggs was mainly loyalty and longevity rather than real talent greater than his peers
Sir Alex seems to be one of the rare kind of british people who can look at the facts from a football experts perspective. And that's probably the reason why he was so successful with Manchester when the english national team used to fail horribly all the time.
Wayne Rooney
David Beckham
Roy Keane
Peter schmeichel
All world class
All of em fell out with fergie
So he is saying it is impossible to be a world class defender/keeper because they dont create chances....
HAHA! Am i reading this write? Ashley Cole a game changer, neither were the rest. World class is what Sir Alex is talking about, not players that are world class in there position. As stupid as that sounds, trust me there is a difference.
Opinions
I think he meant in terms of talent, these were 4 of the best.
He let himself down by not including Keane. By omitting him he made it clear he was still sour from their falling out and it clouded his opinion
I believe the whole of the Red Devils who played under SAF( SHARP/voda era 90s-2000s) were world class. That's why they were the best football team in the world back then. Scholesy, Giggsy, Cantona and Ronaldo were the ones that were even better than world class. That's what he meant.
First of all, that is not what he meant. And there is no such thing as "better than world class".
Cristiano did everything beyond anyone's imagination at United..Alex Ferguson is right!
Rio, Vidic, Van Der Sar, Henrik Larsson, etc, etc.
All world class.
Larsson was not world class 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Golden Boot winner, responsible for handing Messi his 1st UCL, chased until he was 36 by Sir Alex. He wasted his career in Scotland. Only issue.
@@aceharris1463 Definitely not a United fan if there the only choices you make. Larsson was a nice player but not in a century was he world class.
Peter schmichael ? Wtf
He saved more points that anyone else
The ones who won or almost won EVERYTHING: leagues, domestic cups, European/South American Championships, Euro and/or World Cups. There aren't many of those.
Cantona and Scholes were the greatest I ever saw. Keane was remarkable, truly remarkable, but it was more to do with temperament and leadership than skill.
Cantona was box office he was never world class. He was never in contention for a settled spot in the national team. Roy Kane would have been picked for that team if he was French, even though they had Viera.
Ferguson really is a joke. Eric Cantona, haha?? Over guys who actually were all XI, Ballon Dor candidates? David Beckham, Keane, Schmeichel, Evra, Ferdinand, Etc etc.
@@brettreason484 Well Cantona was an artist, it was something other worldly, of your list only Beckham did art too but it took much more work. Eric played football unlike anyone else in the Premier League era.
