Young Frankenstein is a splendid homage to the old Universal movies. It's made with real love and affection. When i was 12, i saw this 12 times in one week. This was back in the days when you could stay and see the film again, without getting turfed out !

Thanks Mel, Gene, Marty, Madalaine, Teri, Peter, Cloris, and Gene Hacknman for the laughter. No one makes funny movies any more with the wild inventiveness of Mel Brooks. The 70's ruled for comedy.

unless you see it, it is kind of hard to KNOW WHY this is so funny, it's a line. It's the whole set up, it's perfect

When I saw Terri in the mid 70's, I still say q thing about her overshadowed this film, except when the "Monster" almost got electrocuted. Terri: What a beauty physically as well as in personality, & plus, she portrays the ideal woman. We need more women like Terri Garr in front of the cam now than the RUN OF THE MILL dominant SKANKS that consider themselves "STARS". Current "stars" are nothing compared to the gals from the 30's thru the 70's. Get rid of the TRASH in Hollywood, male & female.

I could never had done any of these scenes. Would have broken up every time. Young Frankenstein is the funniest movie ever made. I start laughing just looking at the cover of the DVD.

Really hard to say as to funniest. Blazing Saddles KILLED me (WORK, WORK, WORK, while his face is in Madelein's (sp is wrong, i know) boobs - hysterical) - everything that mel brooks, MK, and Gene Wilder did made it absolutely necessary to have a toilet near by cuz you'd laugh THAT hard, making you miss the next scene!! Until THIS movie, I do not believe that Cloris Leachman was known for comedy. She was GREAT!!

Go Marty Feldman! I also liked the Prussian cop with the gimp arm. Then there was the dart scene, when the dart went out the window, and a cat yowled. That was when Brooks added that sound, I understand that it was Brooks who made the sound, unplanned. All in all one of my favorite movies of all time.
