rear end completely exploded and seized, front cross bar collapsed. still ripped a full pull. probably the stock parts, so a junkyard replacement is probably gonna go in and it will be on the road again by monday.

I’m not that familiar with what’s involved in these sled pulls, but it seems like gear ratio, tire choice, and front and rear air lockers would make a pretty big impact on traction alone. Half of those trucks looked like they lost traction and a couple of them looked like they were using all season tires.

Were the white GMC dually at 0:30 and the Black Chevy dually at 1:44 completely stock, or at least mostly stock? Because if they were completely stock, they certainly made some impressive runs even when compared their souped up competitors.
both are so new, that they would likely still have warranty. can't mod the computers and have GM honor the warranty still, and with how computer controlled they are, they are difficult to mod without an aftermarket ECU delete. If they break on a pull, GM probably covers the replacement. the new duramax engines are really really good and put the old motors to shame.
Been watching lots of pulling videos, wouldn't doubt if the Hans device ever becomes mandatory because you're head can really fling forward when the vehicle stops fast
Yes the sled has to depend on what class of pulling. Anything that these can pull would be way too easy for a modified tractor, so yeah depends on the class of the tractors or vehicles

The "sled" they are pulling has a weight box on it that slides from the back of the sled to the front. As the weight box gets closer to the front, it also triggers a pan to drop into the ground for more drag. At some point, the full weight of the sled is on that pan which is when it gets the hardest for the trucks to continue pulling forward.
Dodge pulled the furthest but broke the most. Chevy couldn’t quite average the 300 ft mark. Ford was right on Dodges tail and never broke. I’ll take a Ford, please.
