I had a blast last summer going to Telluride. Went on 5 major hikes. Multiple restaurants. Ghost Town is the best coffee shop there. Living Tea was the best experience I had the whole time. Too many good things to say!

Greetings from Finland. I think there were Finnish immigrants working the mines of Telluride in the early days. What a nice scenary. There is Finnish book/play/movie called Colorado Avenue by Lars Sund about a Finn moving back from Telluride and started a bootlegging operation during Finnish prohibition times on the islands around city of Vasa in Finland. I don’t know if the guy actually had lived in Telluride but there is a true story behind it. The speakeasy is still functional today as a small reustarant and conference center. The name of the place is Bulleråsen (Rumble ridge). The place sits hidden in a bay on an island. Don’t know if it is the original name but would not be far fetched to link the name to someone who have heard the rumble of mining activities in the mountains.

Skiiing for the holidays is something I have always wanted to do. I went to Telluride in July 2004. The mountains height made it wintry even in July.

What a telluride wonder in Colorado in its unique natural mountain geography with unique parkland views! It is no coincidence that actor Tom Cruise has a wonderful rustic all-wood lodge!

So many beautiful places to see and visit along that highway.

@@crazy_compass yes, we love it there very much. Pardon me I was wondering if I could ask about a restaurant, slightly tucked away just west or northwest out of Durango. I for the life of me cant remember the name or exactly how to get there. I cant believe it, we were told about it in the mall by a local who was so nice.

I was watching the Telluride live camera (and would have commented there, but they have comments disabled.)
Maybe It's just a common architectural style, but what with all the snow as well, that Town Hall looks an awful lot like the one in the movie The Dead Zone. Where Christopher Walken hides out before, the film's climax.

Unfortunately it is an expensive area. The beauty though is very surreal in this area and The areas around it. We hope you enjoy it as we continue to go back for all the activities and beauty.

We find most of the Whole State of Colorado along the Rocky Mountains incredibly breathless.
All four national parks on the mountains are very unique from one another with endless beauty. Our favorite places in Colorado would be the Rocky Mountain national Park area, Telluride, Ouray, Pagosa Springs, and so much more.
Ouray is just as spectacular and adventurous as Teluride and is only an hour and a half north of the town.
We have never been disappointed in visiting and vacationing in all the areas of the Rocky Mountains.
We love Colorado and are excited to go back this spring to visit hanging lake, Colorado Springs, and waterfall hunting.
Enjoy your trip. Would love to hear about it.

@@crazy_compass Thank you for your great tips. that sounds great. I had already booked the flight for April 2020. But then Corona came and the world stands still.
The nightmare still goes on and you just don't know when to travel again. Here in Germany almost all shops are closed, just bad. Let's hope for better times and maybe we'll see each other for real in TELLURIDE .. best regards Guido

I was thinking maybe I would like to move the mountains, and this was one of the first towns that I found while looking. It looks really amazing, but there aren't really very many apartment listings on zillow. Most of the listings for apartments or condos are seasonal, not long-term leases.

Is this place better than Colorado Springs or Vail? And does it snow in October?

    • @crazy_compass
      @crazy_compass  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

We would say it depends on the person regarding what is better and what they are looking for.
      What are you looking for?
In our opinion, absolutely. Telluride, Mountain Village, and Ouray are all incredibly beautiful with recreational activities inside and outside the city.
It usually snows in October, but will stick depending on the temperature.

Nice video. My first time to look around Telluride. I should say however that I found the background music very annoying, esp with that percussive pulse while waiting to hear what you are going to say next. I would leave the music out to be honest or else find something less irritating and at a much lower level.
