I miss old Newgrounds. Also Arin Hanson from Game Grumps use to be there that I'm 99% sure the content he would've said back then would've gotten him cancelled today! 💀
I think what makes alot of meatcanyon videos work is that they actaully have something to say. Whether it's something directly about the subject in the parody or an original subject using the characters from an existing peice of media, the videos have some sort of "meaning" to them. The best example is alot of his videos about real life celebrities/content cretaors. They often have some sort of commentary about that person or their fanbase. Another example is the willy Wonka and regular show parodies which use those franchises as the backdrop to tell realistic, uncomfortable, yet morbidly comedic depictions of a person being SA'd Meanwhile alot of these 2010's parodies boil down to "what if [character] said fuck"
my favorite parody animation channel is i think Hank&Jed/Neebs gaming. It's like HISHE but instead of being focused on only blockbuster films and wierd tropes in series they focus more on characters. they just use the thing theyre parodying as a framework to base the challenges that the characters are facing on. That way they're laying the foundation for some actual really funny writing. They made the engineer from battlefield 3 one of my favorite characters in pop culture ever while in game he has no personality at all. Watch Battlefield Friends. And if that's not for you because you haven't played battlefield watch Doraleous and Associates. its not parody animation but that makes it a good entry point.
@4:18 yeah and? im a furry and alot of the furries i talk to like the show, we just don't like that people use them make a joke as an excuse to bash us. its not flashgitz fault it's the antifurries for taking shit too far. that series is one of the few things they have apologized for as it was used as a weapon by the anti furries. personally i don't think they needed to say sorry, as its not their fault.

[when they are two halfs of the same coin] like thats a wild statement are you sure you don't just hate them because alot of other kids liked them. like were you the kid who played terraria as a kid over minecraft? because if so then you just hate what's popular and not tom and don/flashgitz.

I feel cringe watching parody animations when I was young, but some were funny. Not Dorkly though.
Hishe is up there with Pitch Meeting and Honest Trailers with content that only appeals to people who only watch Marvel movies and nothing else
