I was boiling water and fell asleep. The water evaporated and the pot caught on fire. My Border collie ran in my room jumped on my bed and barked to wake me up. He directed me to follow him downstairs and I saw the fire. I thank God for him. I had him for 7 years. He passed away on thanksgiving in 2023. I miss him so much. I felt so safe with him around. ❤
dogs are the best thing humans ever made…totally serve the purpose they were designed to but even more, they melt our hearts too. “mans best friend” doesn’t do them justice. early man could have never imagined what a good idea domesticating a wolf would be. my pup would FORCIBLY nuzzle my face until I started to laugh when I got so depressed I broke down
I haven’t finished watching it but so far “Lucy” definitely melted my heart ❤️😂 I rewind it several times ppl dnt cherish a loved dog enough it’s amazing what they learn to do once becoming a member of there pack 😂💯❤️❤️❤️
Collie's are such great helpers, workers !!! They can be unpredictable as well, like many breeds, and If they REALLY don't like someone they tend to nip but lack of proper training can be an issue there as well, especially if they're cross-bred with a Blue Heeler. If they're REALLY uncomfortable around someone, take note and trust them !!! Just Love Dogs 😊😊🤎🤎
That dog in the first clip looks like a great dog. It was startled awake and had the control to not go into instant attack mode, but I’m positive if that dude even twitched wrong that dog would have shredded him. Thats a perfect example of why dogs were so valuable millennia ago. Humans could sleep and relax knowing if something harmful was prowling around dogs would alert and protect. If it had been more than one dog it’s very possible he would have been attacked as they would be likely to feed off each other’s stress. Cool stuff.
@@JohnSmith-fq7hj Im a canine behaviorist. The dog was startled out of sleep and was reacting. It’s not an unusual behavior for a dog in that situation. Even then it didn’t lose control when pushed past its stress threshold. The dog is more than likely just fine as long as everyone is aware this is a potential behavior when surprising it while it sleeps.
@@AclockworkPurple no it be one thing for him to react that way for a second even a few seconds but once he's awake this isn't acceptable if that is in fact the husband or part of the family
@@JohnSmith-fq7hj It’s overwhelmingly likely it’s not the husband. It could be family, a roommate, a friend, a new boyfriend, etc.. it’s likely someone who doesn’t know the dog well and/or the dog doesn’t know well. There is nothing about the dog’s behavior that is not out of the ordinary. The behavior is completely understandable based on the context. The guy coming in was scared, didn’t say anything or try to calm the dog by addressing it in a calm voice. The guys body language also wasn’t relaxed and his behavior was not that of someone “friendly. This had an effect on the dog’s reaction as it didn’t know if this was a threat. Thats why I said if that guy had made the slightest wrong move the dog could have been pushed past it’s threshold and things escalating into attack territory. A dangerous dog would have attacked without the prolonged warning given by this dog and a dog that hadn’t developed inhibition may very well have attacked as well.. This looks bad, I get it, but based on what we see here this isn’t unusual when a dog is surprised in a place of safety and comfort. Additionally, this behavior looks scary and aggressive, but this is stress caused by fear. The only thing we can say based on this video is when this dog is sleeping in its home in a safe, comfortable environment and it’s startled awake it may potentially behave like this. The video cuts off so we don’t see what happened after and we don’t see this dog behave in any other environment or scenario, so we do not know until we test and assess how it behaves under normal circumstances or know its baseline temperament. Sorry for the long comment, I wanted to be thorough. I do this stuff professionally, by the way.
So looking at the comments …. Is no one wondering who was the guy in the girls room in the very first video … 😂😂😂 I need to know what is the story on that !!
Yeah, that was so creepy. If it's a family member, the dog DOES NOT LIKE HIM so I'm glad the pup was there as he tried to sit on the bed. But the lady then tried to calm the pup so who knows, strange.
My step father had a Boxer for years raising and growing up with him before he got with my mom when I was 3. He was a bit abusive at times but one day his own Boxer turned on him and bit him so bad he bled defending me when my dad tried to hit me. He became my dog that day and Boxers are some of the best family dogs you can have
My grandad (a farmer) always told me if a dog you know well doesn't trust another person BE WARY. i am sure they know things that we don't. My two are fast asleep either side of me ATM 🤣🤣🤣
And if this happens, it always falls on the owner and not the dog. Just like us humans, the upbringing we get paves the path we will walk but some find a sidewalk that will turn them away from any bad upbringing. Protective dogs doesnt mean they will lash out on everyone they see and your comment descibes how media has struck fear in you with certain dog breeds. Bet you're a good little religious sheep too.
Golden retrievers retrieve, pointers points, shepherds herd BECAUSE OF INSTINCTS, but pit bulls mauling their owner or runaways down a child dozens of yards away who was doing NOTHING to them… then it’s not instinct it’s the owner. Brain dead morons like you are an infection on society.
A dog will only love you, but it will treat a stranger like prey. My dog loves me, but Id never let another person pet it because I know there is a good chance he'd bite their hand off.
my two mongrels chased a social worker down the street and she had to hide in a petrol station until a neighbour let us know they'd seen it turned out she'd been called to check on my brother in his pram as no one was with him not knowing the dogs were
Protecting or possession aggression when taking away or feel jealous? I would never let my dog over anyone’s newborn or under 8years old. Not knocking your parenting skills we all have our own ways I’m just saying please be carefull. Please
I came home one day to find my wooden gate smashed to pieces and my dog (a boxer) bleeding from the face. Turns out someone tried to break into our house and my boy chased them out going straight through the gate in the process.
Dogs are wonderful! Not sure why some humans choose to film themselves crying and getting their dog's loving reaction. Are they really that narcissistic?
In that last picture (thumbnail), that baby is crying, clearly idiotic set up for a pic. You should never let babies or small kids sleep with dogs like that, especially big one. Even if they would never intentionally hurt the child, they can very easily do it by accident if spooked or surprised. Those claws, even when clipped can rip a childs face open
When I have a baby, maybe 2032? There will be no dogs. Only a nice kitty cat. I don't like to see enormous dogs around little babies and little children. It is so very dangerous. When my son is born, I'm going to have a boy. He will not even know what a dog is. Then we will get a fat dog. It is called a pug? That one. And stop saying doggo. Such a strange word it is.
pugs are so inbred its really unhealthy. You’re better off not getting a dog at all if thats your choice. People are actively trying to breed OFF pugs. They can sneeze out their own eyeballs they are so screwed up.
Dogs are so AMAZING. Love them a lot 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

This is not true.
@TheRogueAstronaut really? So what other animal instinctively puts your life before their own smart guy?

It was the first thing I was wondering. Very bizarre
Don't use familiar people for training if you want it to actually work when it matters
