My theory is originally she’d kill the witches to distract death from taking Nick and the day she didn’t was the day he was taken. She was used to killing witches by then and just continued on
Agatha says they killed whitches to survive. But it wasn't her survival. I think At first she was killing witches to satisfy Death, and keep her from taking Nicholas. When Nick refused he died that same day.
32:57 Death didn’t collect Agatha’s spirit which is the promise she made, Agatha didn’t want to see Death. We saw Death walk Nicky and Alice into the afterlife, which is presumably what she did for Sharon and Lilia which is why Agatha said none of them are ghosts.
Good point. Agatha being a ghost means she has unresolved issues, meaning her ability to face her son, Nicholas. Alice resolved her issue with her demons, as did Lilja with her issue with time-slipping... Sharon probably already finished her gardening 😅.
@@snoopypalsuper dark theory, but: Sharon wanted to be with her husband again. She said in her garden that she hadn't been doing anything since Mr Davis died, my theory is that she was living like a songbird whose mate dies. She was just passing the days until Rio would take her to him, and the Wiccan Road led her straight into her husbands arms. She died surrounded by would-be friends/sisters, in a house she loved, drinking wine with the girls. Traumatic hallucinations aside (which she was unconscious after only a few seconds of) she died how she wanted to live. She got to die surrounded by people most of which loved her as best as calloused centuries old witches hardened by suffering, could.
0:46 I think people got caught up in the timey-wimey stuff that they forgot Lilia is a divination witch… if she were a divination witch she wouldn’t need to be there and see things happen or else.. she wouldn’t be diving anything. She’d just literally be seeing things happen.
34:21 So many people are mad with this ending but to me it’s perfect in the sense that it’s everything it needed to be. Agatha has now fully taken on the role of a ghost mentor. Originally in the 2015 Scarlet Witch comic, the Witches’ Road storyline follows Wanda as she’s guided by Agatha’s ghost. Children’s Crusade also is caused by Tommy and Billy’s reunion and decision to seek out Wanda (especially since Tommy is the known mama’s boy, Billy doesn’t consider Wanda his mom, but Tommy in the comics also does not have a family that cares for him which is why Wanda is so important to him). I’ve seen some people say Wanda should’ve never gotten killed off but that’s also part of the Children’s Crusade, Strange is also the one who reports her supposed suicide both in comics and MCU, so it’s all adding up. Next we’ll have White Vision building his family. Then Avengers Doomsday will most likely be the culmination of everything considering Doom is who is holding Wanda captive in Children’s Crusade after her mind is wiped and she’s coerced into being his wife while he tries to steal her powers. Wonderman is also set to release next year which is meant to be Wanda’s next love interest (his character was pretty much created just to be an Avenger leader and Scarlet Witch love interest so I’d be surprised if they didn’t fulfill those 2 purposes).
As far as I'm concerned, Kevin Feige should call Jac Schaffer today and be like "Here's Midnight Suns and Strange Academy, go wild with it." Agatha was also a ghost (and a guide) in other iterations of her character, including Scarlet Witch's own Witches' Road storyline and also the twins's og origin story with Mephisto and whatnot, both as Wanda's guide and mentor of sorts (kinda like she's doing with Wiccan here). On top of the (very good) Midnight Suns game you mentioned.
There no season 2, what I know or think it goes like wandavision, then agatha all along, then vision quest, and Tommy will probably appear in vision quest, Billy and agatha might probably appear in vision quest too, but we don't know.
@@lovemoviesful2 technically, the show was submitted to awards categories as a “Comedy Series,” not a limited series. That doesn’t mean a definite season 2, obviously…lol. Just saying, it’s not for sure yet. Even if it’s not a direct season 2, this story needs to continue directly. Visionquest, whatever it ends up being, is almost certainly not going to be a direct continuation of this, I don’t think. But if it is, I mean, okay. I just need this story (Wiccan and Agatha, specifically) to continue as they search for Tommy. It’s so good.
@entrydenied don't be. The guy who took over Star Trek Picard for season 3, is doing it. Anyone who could not only salvage that show, but turn it into something fantastic. Is a person who understands entertainment. It won't be as complex like WV/AA, but it'll be fun.
@@entrydenied also, Jac Schaeffer stayed on for months during the transition from her to Terry Matalas. Plus she's still a "consultant" on his team so at least it won't retcon WV or AAA to death.
That was excellent! This series has been above and beyond anything I could have imagined. It's become one of my all-time favorite shows, and although I'm sad to see it end, there's a lot of promise for the future.
The Legend of the Witches Road became true when Billy willed it. Agatha made the Myth, Billy conjured it. That's the future Demiurge at work. Ruling over Magic at will so far as to create a Wish-Granting Dimension.
4:10 The difference is that, unlike Coulson or Vision, Billy took over another body, so a soul that was supposed to die is inhabiting another person's body that was supposed to die.
Rio might be death but she said it herself, she hates Ghosts and Ghosts can keep themselves bound to the living world with a strong emotional attachment, Agatha's however is she can't face her child in the afterlife because shes ashamed of who she is. Rio can only control the act of Death itself and guide those who accept her to the afterlife or the beyond. Agatha however is choosing not to accept death thereby remaining as a ghost. My theory is shes hoping Billy will grant her a NEW BODY, potential recasting down the road per se. So shes trying to keep on his good side till either he can help her get a new vessel OR she figures out how to do it herself.
kinda sad though, the first time she confronts her kids' death, and the first time she STOPS draining someone fully to death, is also the same day she ends up dead. lol
As for the question as to how Agatha got the darkhold I don’t think it really matters. The book of the damned is gonna find its way to someone who’s done such magical evil.
I believe she starting killing covens of witches either to suffice as bodies sacrificed so that Rio will allow nick to live a bit longer, kind of that as long as bodies continue to pile up, Rio will let nicky have more time, or alternativly to keep Rio so busy tending to other bodies that she couldn't come get Nick, hence the one day that they didn't pull their con... is the night Rio comes for him
9:30 No, she didn't pretend to be him, it is implied that he paid her to cast the binding spell, she didn't know that Jen was the witch who would he was trying to bind.
I saw a great theory on Reddit that she continued killing witches with Nicky because it was essentially payment to Rio (hence why she says survival) for the time she gave Nicky, but the one night he chooses not to lure them and they don't kill is when Rio comes to collect him. It was a really interesting read. If that is true, then I would assume that Agatha in her misery continued killing because it became a reflex to her, but also as a means of keeping Rio occupied since she claims Rio was always following her. My theory about her acquiring the Darkhold is perhaps she traveled to Wundagore after learning of the existence of the spells in attempts to get Nicky back, and she created the copy of the Darkhold in that universe (since Wundagore is considered to be the 'original' Darkhold with the spells carved into the walls). I could be wrong, but clearly she didn't trade Nicky for it, and it was just gossip in the witch community. Hopefully if we see her travels with Billy, she will open up more about some of the things that were left out. Either that or maybe she did make a deal for it, just she did something else to acquire it. Ultimately it wasn't the ending I was expecting but I wasn't disappointed. Ghost Agatha is a definite vibe lol I'm excited to see her and Billy's journey to find Tommy.
Not a bad theory about Agatha and the Darkhold. It could be a great way to tie it back to WandaVision as well. She learns of what the Scarlet Witch is said to be capable of, so she forges a copy of the Darkhold to take with her and discover if Wanda is capable of creation and resurrection. Her goal with Wanda's magic was most likely a belief that she could use it to revive Nicholas.
- "Agatha, am I killing this boy so my brother can live?" Hardest line we've had in the MCU yet, so tough to hear. Followed by Agatha's "no Billy, sometimes boys... die" is just, heartbreaking. And yes, Tommy will have such a hard life, that I can already know I'm gonna feel crushed during Vision Quest.
There was that dialogue of emotion or unresolved issues tying ghosts to our plane, so i guess she came back as a ghost coz she had strong emotions tied to Billy OR strong emotions to not face her kid or a combo of both.
I guess Jen is Wandavision's Monica. Both got their power and survived. So this is probably unpopular opinion but I'm excited if Jennifer Kale will have a huge role in the future in Billy's character story.
