That's such a cool piece of work of art ! I am no American . I didn't grow up listening to country music, like at all ( but I'll admit : I did find and buy myself a cassette (sorry, i mean a tape) of Dwight Yoakam in the mid or end 80's...) ! I love Chevel's sound . Not very far from bluegrass , to my untrained ears , is she ? -- I also enjoyed her almost yodelling in two of the songs on TheVoiceUSA, yk, in Switzerland, Austria & Germany they yodel pretty good & unapologetically , i got to appreciate the mastery -- Well, anyway I think Chevel's instincts were perfect to have chosen Kelly Clarkson, who, in turn, knew to choose the right crescendo of songs for Chevel to cut the grass right from underneath the feet of her fellows competitors . I don't think Blake would have found these songs. Anyway anyhow anyhoo, Chevel got herself a solid mentor , and she seems to me to have, herself, the correct mindset and the undeniable talent to make it just as big as she'll want it to be .
