I have these fitted to a BMW X5. Not easy at all the load bikes at that height. Any good suggested other then a wobbly ladder!

I have my 598s mounted on a Toyota Prado. I use a small set of folding steps and make sure i pick up the bike from as low down as possible ie from the bottom of the forks and the bottom of the seatstays.

I agree. Not easy at all to load bike with two hands. It would be easier if you have one more person to hold bike while you lock it

Bought this for my Prius but now that switched to the Lexus RX it is a bit tougher. Are you still using the ladder?

I have this model but the side arm is now loose and wont stay in position while trying to fit the bike. Do you know how I can tighten this? Thanks

Have a look in the manual, there are two bolts on the bottom that can be tightened

Can I buy an attachments to to this rack to make it a through axle so I can put carbon framed mountain bike on it been told not to clamp the down tube

Hi Matt. You can't change the 598 sorry, to make it a fork mount bike carrier. You can use this though with your 598 to carry a carbon frame bike. www.roofrackstore.com.au/thule-carbon-frame-protector-984-p-492499.html

Hey I have the 598 with the older clamp style mounting, is there a way to change it to the sliding style mount to my oem BMW bars??
