  • In this episode of the RC Stories Garage we are reviewing our installation of the MyTrickRC light kit in the Axial SCX24 Chevy C10. This is our second MyTrickRC SCX24 kit and we thought we would share our experiences with this decent and worthwhile little upgrade. The lights in this kit really enhance the scale realism of these little trucks compared to the fairly obnoxious stock bumper-mounted LEDs.
We have found that the foam tape mounting the high-powered headlight modules peels away occasionally (we had this problem with our Gladiator as well). But a quick press and it sticks back in place for a bit.
While we were in the garage we also installed a pair of rock lights in our SCX24 Jeep Gladiator. We re-used the stock LED light string and wired the rock lights so they can be turned on and off with the transmitter. The rock lights actually work quite well and improve visibility of crawling terrain in dark situations.
For many scale drivers, lights on scale trucks are purely for looks. But winters are long and dark in Canada and dark good lights extend the driving season considerably.

Great idea to drill out the fake shock reservoirs for your rock lights! Just recently found your channel and am really enjoying the content! Keep up the good stuff! 👍

Awesome! Thank you! I haven’t seen rock lights on very many SCX24 trucks, and I think they look good.

How’d you get the LEDs off the bumper? I’d like to use them in the headlight
    Thanks
