- St Johns Hall. Once the home of William Backhouse, a keen daffodil hybridist who caused a sensation among daffodil enthusiasts with his creation 'Weardale Perfection'. Sadly he died before ever seeing it flower.
The flight is via Ruddy Carr which I've videoed before but much closer this time. "In 1841, as well as having a wife and 7 children, the Bryce family took in a retired school master Hugh Ford aged 70". (The Disappearing farms of Weardale by Christine Ruskin).
The video is a bit dark at first but brightening it added some horrible artifacts. Phantom 4 pro.

A day to remember.

Again, splendid John!
Thanks Michael, are you planning on making videos now that you have your own drone.
@@assessorjohn I am John. I’ve been out for a maiden flight at Waldridge Fell, on a windy day amongst lots of dog walkers, so wasn’t ideal. I’ve followed some of your videos to plan a better place and when weather improves and I feel up to it physically I aim to copy some of your visits to Bearpark and Elephant Trees.
John, I have videos on here at th-cam.com/users/mihalmacmaghnusa Best wishes, Michael.
@@mihalmacmaghnusa Elephant trees is a bit of a hike! I notice you have a video of the old munitions dump at Brasside, I made a drone video of the place last year, that would be a good one for you do, you could do Finchale abbey at the same time. Some nice places on our coast too.
@@assessorjohn Thanks John. Yes I saw that video. I’m being a bit cautious, probably over cautious at the moment until I get a bit more use and confidence and it was the prisons nearby down there that put me off a little. From your encouragement I will do it asap now though. It’s nice and handy, and the Carrs too. Grateful to you John.
Nice video
Thank you.
Love these vids
Thanks for watching, leaving a comment and subscribing Graham. There's a newer version of this one after an urban explorer sent me some pictures from inside St Johns Hall. If you'd like to watch it's here: th-cam.com/video/JSAh2FD5nAs/w-d-xo.html
